Description
This was a snack cracker that NABISCO made in the early 80's. They were chicken flavored, and shaped to look like miniature drumsticks. They had a commercial featuring a Dixieland band singing - "DIXIES.... DIXIES.... DRUMSTICK....SNACK CRACKERS!" I thought they were quite good, and other than the fact that their CHICKEN IN A BISCUIT crackers were also similarly flavored, I don't know why they stoped making them. Nobody other than me seems to remember them.

I've wondered what happened to those snack crackers for years. They were better than Chicken in a Biscit. I'd buy boxes of them if they ever made them again. jcdalton@comcast.net

I've been thinking about those crackers for a while now. When I was a kid, we used to get them when we went to Bodega Bay, CA. I will never forget the texture or the highly-seasoned flavoring of Drumstick crackers!

I thought I was the only person who adored these crackers and missed them! I used to eat them like they were going out of style (which they did, unfortunately)! Chicken In A Biscuit comes close, but I liked the airy texture of the Dixies a hell of a lot more! I wish they'd bring them back.

OMG!! I can't believe I FINALLY have validation that I am NOT crazy and these crackers did exist. I always swore there was a drumstick shaped cracker with a unique texture and chicken flavored. My sister and I remember these, and thought when we bought "Chicken In a Biskit" they were a new and or improved version. NO WAY!! LOL they came close but were NEVER quite the same. LOL...oh what memories :)

My favorite snack food of all time. You can still buy them in Australia... You can have them shipped to your house, it'll just cost you a bundle... I checked and ten boxes was, like, eighty bucks to be shipped... LOL

Peggy, I believe you're thinking of QUACKERS? (Duck-shaped crackers of the 80s, kind of similar to Goldfish crackers. They had a sour cream & onion variety.)

Yes, those did exist - remember them well. I wonder if anyone still makes them, TBH. Nabisco originally made them, as they had all sorts of interesting unique snack crackers then.

Best cracker I ever had. Still see the box, and remember the smell and taste. We didn't get them often, but one summer we camped for 2 weeks, and my Mom must have bought 14 boxes, it was all I ate other than hobo pies and marshmallows.

They still make and sell Dixie Drumsticks in Australia. Don't know why they don't sell them here in the U.S.
