I miss this prodict and have looked everywhere. I didn't know it was discontinued. Someone needs to find the recipe and market it.

It's a shame that this product isn't made anymore. It was SO much better than the other canned macaroni and cheese products out there.

my neice loves it, and some years ago, we came across a huge factory wide sale, or nearly expired mac and cheese. Needless to say we was gone in no time at all. I loved that stuff, health ni=ut or not. Actually everyone in my family especially my neice. I dont have the ehart to tell hewr I can never send it to ehr again. So sad, hey Franco, who is owed by campbells, maby we should petition...lol I asked them why they removed it from marketing, and tons of campbelsls fans would make it worth their while if they could bring it back! Loved this stuff! I used to eat it straight from the can. We didn't have a microwave at the time and mom wouldn't let me use the stove. I miss this stuff! I want it back!

My mom was a single mother of 3 small kids and going to college so we grew-up on Franco American Macaroni and Cheese. Because the noodles were so long, we used to call them worms. We still talk about it now, as adults. I would love it if they would bring it back. It had the creamiest white cheese sauce I've ever had (from a can). I love to recreat old recipes so I'm going to try and make it myself. If I come up with a pretty close clone, I'll be sure to post it for everyone who has missed it.

My sister and I grew up on the stuff and just loved it, too! We were really bummed to find out Campbell's discontinued it when they took over. I wrote to them, but got a rather canned response about only being able to support so many products. I too, think that I also think we should ALL send them emails asking them about it and if they'd consider bringing it back! There's some other brand out there now, but yuk. Just isn't the same. Bring back the yellow can!

I would just like to say that I truly miss this product. I used to eat this all the time as a child. I am now 36 and still have cravings for it. My favorite was the elbow macaroni and cheese. I think it tasted better than the long noodles. They had a different cheese sauce on them. Please Campbell's bring this product back. Chef Boyardee's mac and cheese is gross. Please listen to all of these consumers. We will all make it worth your while to bring it back on the market. PLEASE!!!!

I ate this nonstop when I was a kid and everytime Im in the store I still take a look even though I know its not there. The same goes for Sun Crunchers cereal, Mr. Phips Pretzel Chips, and Freshen-Up Gum.

This was a staple in our house that was stored next to the tomato soup. I loved that stuff. If someone could come up with a recipe, I would love to have it.

I'm fifty years old and I too grew up Franco American Macaroni and Cheese. With fresh ground black pepper it was the best. It still could be if the powers that be could bring it back. I for one would buy a crate.

OK, I'm going to be the hater here and take a stand once and for all AGAINST Franco-American Mac & Cheese. I never liked it, not even as a young, stupid kid with no sense of culinary taste whatsoever, watching "Reading Rainbow" in the summertime. I don't know what it was - the strangely pale appearance, the freakishly fat, long noodles ... the fact that my sister said the stuff looked like DEAD EARTHWORMS!!! (Also, the book version of "E.T." describes the poor single mom serving her 3 kids a dinner of "canned macaroni & cheese sprinkled with wheat germ, with a handful of cashews on the side for good measure." That always sounded SO disgusting to me.) I don't know, I'm just saying! Maybe I'll be banned from this board forever ...

Earthworms or not...it was the BEST!! Grew up with it as a kid. When I got in my late 20's, my boyfriend owned a little grocery store and would pick me up a 1/2 of a case when he went and got supplies. Relationship ended when mac-n-cheese came off the shelves. Thanks Franco American! ;)

The Phillies have won the world series...last done in the 80's...Salon Selectives are back on the shelves...New Kids on the Block have made a comeback...I have seen teased hair, crimping irons, neon colors...all thats missing is Franco American Mac n Cheese! I checked out the food service link. They are just 7-1/2 oz. It must stuff in a box. NOT what we are all looking for. I just turned 60 and, like many of you, assumed that my local store just didn't carry it. After a LONG time, I JUST began looking for the GREAT canned FA M&C on line & found this site. With some decent publicity, they could manufacture a large batch every six or eight years & we'd all buy it up - several cases each - & it would keep for several year beyond the expiration date & we'd ration it out as it got a bit older & our stockples shrank. Then, they'd come out with a fresh batch in six or eight more years & the cycle would repeat. I KNOW that there are LOTS of people out there who would KILL to get some of this stuff but who are silent about it. BUT they would have to make it just the same as they did back in the old days. No shortcuts or the deal won't fly. Someone post the address and phone number of the Campbel's site we should all contact. & then let's all do that!

This stuff was the best. Even back in the eighties, it was hard for me to find. A local liquor store/market in So. Cal. had a stockpile of it for CHEAP that I lived off of during my college years. I don't recall the brand name, but I've come across a canned mac & cheese in in England that is similar... though not quite as good. Close though...

WOW, I thought I was the only one looking for it and remember loving it back in the day. Great after a party night could eat the entire can. Always had 3-5 cans in the pantry. can't find the noodles like that. I'm a Chef and still would love bring it home after along day. I make great mac and cheese but this is way better at night, easy. Emailed Campbells told them to bring back. Chef boy ardee has a new one close but box size pasta, not the same. Aloha

The Chef Boyardee version is NOTHING like this icon. It was a sad day when this went off the market. Campbells needs this one back just the way it was.

I've been looking for years. Thought that Franco-American just lost the shelf space and this was to see if I could find some store still carrying it. And to think of all the shelf space that Chef Boy-r-dee gets. The good stuff goes and the bad stuff stays.

Well, I took a chance, spent $100. from FoodService Direct that claims to sell it and - you guessed it - it IS NOT THE SAME. The original FA Mac & Cheese had long noodles and the sauce was very light in color. This shipment that I just got has noodles that are about 1 inch in length and the sauce is more of an orange color. I had to buy 3 cases, plus shipping and I am so disappointed to discover it is not the real deal. I would not recommend it if you are expecting the original FA Mac & Cheese.

I used to eat FA M%C with a can of tuna fish mixed in. It was fantastic. I also used to eat it straight from the can (cold). It was simply the best canned product of all time.

I have so many fond memories of this FA macaroni from childhood. It's funny how thinking of a food can bring back so many great times you shared in your life. I'm now 24 and have been craving it for YEARS. My grandmother used to make it for me all the time, because she called me her "picky baby" and it was one of the ONLY things I was guaranteed to eat at any time. She called it "white macaroni". She'd pretend to be annoyed about feeding it to me and tell me "you are going to turn into one of the noodles if you keep eating it so much!" but she loved it too! When I realized it was gone I was SO unhappy. I too also enjoyed the spaghetti's mildly sweet taste (great sauce). I live in NJ and my grandpop loyally worked for Campbell's in Camden for years and also loved the product. I never understand why companies pull GREAT tasting, popular products and replace them with disgusting, tasteless crap. People need to call and demand it back. It'd catch on like wildfire and I'd buy TONS of it. I know today everyone is into organic, super-healthy foods but there will ALWAYS be a market for good old-fashioned American comfort-food. I really believe that.

I want it baaaack!! I am 46 and I want that Mac and Cheese. I don't care about other good ones; I make my own good one. When I lived in Morocco I was able to recreate the sauce profile from the Franco-American Spaghetti but I haven't tried to duplicate this.

Why oh Why, did this happen. An excellent product that was enjoyed for generations. I was not aware of this happening and was using other products thinking the shelves were just empty. In this economy it looks like a good thing should be returned.
