I miss this prodict and have looked everywhere. I didn't know it was discontinued. Someone needs to find the recipe and market it.

It's a shame that this product isn't made anymore. It was SO much better than the other canned macaroni and cheese products out there.

my neice loves it, and some years ago, we came across a huge factory wide sale, or nearly expired mac and cheese. Needless to say we was gone in no time at all. I loved that stuff, health ni=ut or not. Actually everyone in my family especially my neice. I dont have the ehart to tell hewr I can never send it to ehr again. So sad, hey Franco, who is owed by campbells, maby we should petition...lol I asked them why they removed it from marketing, and tons of campbelsls fans would make it worth their while if they could bring it back! Loved this stuff! I used to eat it straight from the can. We didn't have a microwave at the time and mom wouldn't let me use the stove. I miss this stuff! I want it back!

My mom was a single mother of 3 small kids and going to college so we grew-up on Franco American Macaroni and Cheese. Because the noodles were so long, we used to call them worms. We still talk about it now, as adults. I would love it if they would bring it back. It had the creamiest white cheese sauce I've ever had (from a can). I love to recreat old recipes so I'm going to try and make it myself. If I come up with a pretty close clone, I'll be sure to post it for everyone who has missed it.

My sister and I grew up on the stuff and just loved it, too! We were really bummed to find out Campbell's discontinued it when they took over. I wrote to them, but got a rather canned response about only being able to support so many products. I too, think that I also think we should ALL send them emails asking them about it and if they'd consider bringing it back! There's some other brand out there now, but yuk. Just isn't the same. Bring back the yellow can!

I would just like to say that I truly miss this product. I used to eat this all the time as a child. I am now 36 and still have cravings for it. My favorite was the elbow macaroni and cheese. I think it tasted better than the long noodles. They had a different cheese sauce on them. Please Campbell's bring this product back. Chef Boyardee's mac and cheese is gross. Please listen to all of these consumers. We will all make it worth your while to bring it back on the market. PLEASE!!!!

I ate this nonstop when I was a kid and everytime Im in the store I still take a look even though I know its not there. The same goes for Sun Crunchers cereal, Mr. Phips Pretzel Chips, and Freshen-Up Gum.

This was a staple in our house that was stored next to the tomato soup. I loved that stuff. If someone could come up with a recipe, I would love to have it.

I'm fifty years old and I too grew up Franco American Macaroni and Cheese. With fresh ground black pepper it was the best. It still could be if the powers that be could bring it back. I for one would buy a crate.

OK, I'm going to be the hater here and take a stand once and for all AGAINST Franco-American Mac & Cheese. I never liked it, not even as a young, stupid kid with no sense of culinary taste whatsoever, watching "Reading Rainbow" in the summertime. I don't know what it was - the strangely pale appearance, the freakishly fat, long noodles ... the fact that my sister said the stuff looked like DEAD EARTHWORMS!!! (Also, the book version of "E.T." describes the poor single mom serving her 3 kids a dinner of "canned macaroni & cheese sprinkled with wheat germ, with a handful of cashews on the side for good measure." That always sounded SO disgusting to me.) I don't know, I'm just saying! Maybe I'll be banned from this board forever ...

Earthworms or not...it was the BEST!! Grew up with it as a kid. When I got in my late 20's, my boyfriend owned a little grocery store and would pick me up a 1/2 of a case when he went and got supplies. Relationship ended when mac-n-cheese came off the shelves. Thanks Franco American! ;)

I checked out the food service link. They are just 7-1/2 oz. It must stuff in a box. NOT what we are all looking for. I just turned 60 and, like many of you, assumed that my local store just didn't carry it. After a LONG time, I JUST began looking for the GREAT canned FA M&C on line & found this site. With some decent publicity, they could manufacture a large batch every six or eight years & we'd all buy it up - several cases each - & it would keep for several year beyond the expiration date & we'd ration it out as it got a bit older & our stockples shrank. Then, they'd come out with a fresh batch in six or eight more years & the cycle would repeat. I KNOW that there are LOTS of people out there who would KILL to get some of this stuff but who are silent about it. BUT they would have to make it just the same as they did back in the old days. No shortcuts or the deal won't fly. Someone post the address and phone number of the Campbel's site we should all contact. & then let's all do that!

This stuff was the best. Even back in the eighties, it was hard for me to find. A local liquor store/market in So. Cal. had a stockpile of it for CHEAP that I lived off of during my college years. I don't recall the brand name, but I've come across a canned mac & cheese in in England that is similar... though not quite as good. Close though...

WOW, I thought I was the only one looking for it and remember loving it back in the day. Great after a party night could eat the entire can. Always had 3-5 cans in the pantry. can't find the noodles like that. I'm a Chef and still would love bring it home after along day. I make great mac and cheese but this is way better at night, easy. Emailed Campbells told them to bring back. Chef boy ardee has a new one close but box size pasta, not the same. Aloha

The Chef Boyardee version is NOTHING like this icon. It was a sad day when this went off the market. Campbells needs this one back just the way it was.

I've been looking for years. Thought that Franco-American just lost the shelf space and this was to see if I could find some store still carrying it. And to think of all the shelf space that Chef Boy-r-dee gets. The good stuff goes and the bad stuff stays.

Well, I took a chance, spent $100. from FoodService Direct that claims to sell it and - you guessed it - it IS NOT THE SAME. The original FA Mac & Cheese had long noodles and the sauce was very light in color. This shipment that I just got has noodles that are about 1 inch in length and the sauce is more of an orange color. I had to buy 3 cases, plus shipping and I am so disappointed to discover it is not the real deal. I would not recommend it if you are expecting the original FA Mac & Cheese.

I used to eat FA M%C with a can of tuna fish mixed in. It was fantastic. I also used to eat it straight from the can (cold). It was simply the best canned product of all time.

I have so many fond memories of this FA macaroni from childhood. It's funny how thinking of a food can bring back so many great times you shared in your life. I'm now 24 and have been craving it for YEARS. My grandmother used to make it for me all the time, because she called me her "picky baby" and it was one of the ONLY things I was guaranteed to eat at any time. She called it "white macaroni". She'd pretend to be annoyed about feeding it to me and tell me "you are going to turn into one of the noodles if you keep eating it so much!" but she loved it too! When I realized it was gone I was SO unhappy. I too also enjoyed the spaghetti's mildly sweet taste (great sauce). I live in NJ and my grandpop loyally worked for Campbell's in Camden for years and also loved the product. I never understand why companies pull GREAT tasting, popular products and replace them with disgusting, tasteless crap. People need to call and demand it back. It'd catch on like wildfire and I'd buy TONS of it. I know today everyone is into organic, super-healthy foods but there will ALWAYS be a market for good old-fashioned American comfort-food. I really believe that.

I used to make a tuna fish casserole with the franco-american mac n cheese. The white sauce was so good, put some tuna in it, mix it up, top it with bread crumbs, delicio!!!

I want it baaaack!! I am 46 and I want that Mac and Cheese. I don't care about other good ones; I make my own good one. When I lived in Morocco I was able to recreate the sauce profile from the Franco-American Spaghetti but I haven't tried to duplicate this.

I really liked eating Franco American Mac 'n' Cheese from a thermos I kept in my lunchbox. The cheese was very thick and dense and cheesy. Storm the gates. Demand that they bring it back!

Why oh Why, did this happen. An excellent product that was enjoyed for generations. I was not aware of this happening and was using other products thinking the shelves were just empty. In this economy it looks like a good thing should be returned.

I remember eating this Mac and Cheese in the 1950's and 1960's. I am 65 and still can see it on my plate at dinner. Great stuff; unmistakeable flavor. Nothing else comes close.

You know everybody has pretty much said the same thing...cold in a can ..with me i had crackers too. Love the stuff wish it was still around ..the best to ever come out of a can! I miss this stuff so much. I haven't eaten it in at least ten years (I think this is about the time it got discontinued), but I STILL crave it! Every once in a while I start craving it and search the net in vain to see if it's available ANYWHERE, but it isn't. The few other available brands of canned mac and cheese are disgusting. There's just something about the sauce/noodle combo that is delicious and amazing. I know it's sad, but you know how some people wish for world peace? True love? Spiritual enlightenment? I mostly just wish I could find and eat Franco American macaroni and cheese. Forever.

If they won't bring it back, how about sharing the recipe so we can try to make it ourselves. The closet I came to the taste was olive garden's chicken alfredo pizza. (just the sauce) I know not the same but very close. I have such fond memories of this mac and cheese. When I was a kid this was the only thing I would eat after I had my tonsils removed. Who wants jello give me the mac and cheese.

One of my fondest memories as a kid was the yellow label can of Franco American macaroni and cheese. This stuff was amazing and I would only hope that it would be remarketed. Its a no brainer as parents would be buying this stuff up, to pass down the tasty memories to their kids. Come on. Just do it. Now.

My sister and I learned to love this when we were little and would visit our Nana's house. We never got it at home because our mom wouldn't buy it for us. Whenever we wanted to eat it though we would have to go down the rickety stairs to the scary basement where she kept her canned goods. As we would make our way down the steps she would always say, "Be careful on the stairs and hold onto the railing!" The journey down and the journey back were worth it as we anticipated the rich creamy goodness that was Franco American Macaroni and Cheese. Bring it back please! We know our daughters would love it and so would we!

My sister and I ate this as kids all the time. We have both been looking for it all over the place. It has to be the white with the long noodles. Did anyone drop the $75 for the case? was it the right thing? I'm going to try the vintage foods people on amazon, I'll let you know how that turns out. I can see that FA M&C spanned different generations as many only seem to remember it with the long noodles. When it first came out it did come with shorter elbow macaroni noodles, however it was then changed over to the longer "earthworm" noodle. Many people may only remember one or the other, however the only thing that had changed was noodles, not the sauce or the taste. Keeping that in mind it is possible that some people may have gotten some from FoodService Direct that was the real thing. I will also remind people that as kids many of us really enjoyed a certain food, only to have it 30 years later and not have it taste the same, so the version that is available these days may very well be the same thing we had before.

I too, would love to see this come back! I have looked for it for years! My grandmother used to put bread crumbs and grated cheese on top of it and bake it in the oven. My favorite meal of all time!

I've been looking everywhere for this mac and cheese. I used to find it in an old Acme supermarket by my house, but unfortunately it burned down several years ago. I decided to see if I could find it and was surprised to see I wasn't the only one who grew up on the stuff. Definitely has to be the long wide noodles and the white sauce. Hope to see it back on the market soon!

when I moved here to CO 10 yrs ago, I found cans of it at a CVS? Long's Drugs? store.. they were out of date and I was told they had no more and I kept checking, never saw them again. IF you looked the ingredients, you'd see the type of cheese used: Cheshire.. English. Amber

I remember this in the 1980's. I can close my eyes and remember the unique cheese flavor. I did really like it as a kid.

I can remember as a kid when my mom and dad would come home from food shopping I would hide a couple of cans in order to make sure i would get some. I had 3 older brothers to contend with. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff. I would love to be able to find this again. And for my son to try it.

This was a FAVORITE food of mine and my sister's growing up! I would LOVE to get ahold of it again, and my sister would go gonzo! A few years back I found some in a local dollar store, called my sister, she drove 60 miles to get here and bought every can they had! I grew up on this and my Dad made it the best!! He would fry up bacon and then heated up the mac and cheese and threw the bacon in and it was so yummy! Please bring it back! I also have thought about this stuff on and off for years and was not surprised to see so many people with memories of it.

quite possibly the reason they wont bring it back is because of all the additives...do you really think that was real cheese in there? in this health concious era, with food companies shelving healthier choices I can understand this product wouldnt be up to snuff! I loved this product as a child also and at 51 I would love to taste it again! but Im thinking that if they made it again it wouldnt be the same...you cant go home again!

They used to sell it at a local non brand name store here.When they would have it in,id take a shopping cart and place it right underneath the shelf...and take my arms an scoop the entire supply into the cart and usually ask if they had more in the back.I would but sometimes 75+ cans at a time! i would eat 2 cans a day for a month and never got tired of it.I still to this day look in little corner stores and i when i go to the us I also look for it and if I ever find it again,I will clean that store out!

I contacted Campbells, and got the exact same reply that Darlene got, oh and they enclosed a coupon for 50 cents off of a can of soup. I called and informed them that I didn't appreciate form letters, at which time I was told that they wanted to devote more time to their other lines. I further researched the matter only to find out that the decision not to bring it back is based solely for economic gain, they have devoted the time to produce 12 different types of Spaghettio's, now keep in mind they all taste the same, the only difference is the shape of the noodles. I have since decided that if Campbell's wants to ignore it's customers then I will ignore them, I now pass by all of their products at the store. Some may say it's a little extreme but I say why should I support a company when they think they can make me just go away with a 50 cent coupon. Their 50 cent insult cost them alot more than that.

Please bring back Mac and cheese.....it was the best product Campbells produced. Get rid of some of the Spaghettios and soups(I know not all of them make Campbells any money)and bring this product back. Maybe just test it to see how profitable it can be and go from there. I sure they will make tons of money based on the demand from the comments left on this page.

Campbells, you need some new blood in your marketing or production departments. If you google Franco American Macaroni and Cheese you would see how very very many solid, NOT POTENTIAL, but solid customers you would have for this product. Yes, sometimes you need to stop production on some products and bring out new lines to compete with your competetors. I'm 59 and have been looking for this product since it was stopped being made YEARS ago. You also need to listen to your customer base, which, again, you can see a tad of on google for this product, and bring back something that is in demand. Your company would be the basically the only one to carry a product like this, many times this can be a wonderfully successful business move. The long noodles with all the creamy cheese sauce - you don't find anything like that. I don't have to tell you that when your company is the first to bring to the market a 'new' product that is well-accepted by the comsumers it doesn't take long to have other companies try to create the same product and reap the monetary rewards with/against you. If you bring this back you would be not only getting the huge and loyal fan base of the older generations that grew up on this wonderful product - you would also have this generation bringing it into the lives of THEIR children, another generation of customers who eat the food their parents give them and then grow up still eating what they had as children. They then serve this food to THEIR children. The circle goes round and round, an ongoing continuance of tradition. Quite frankly, there aren't many products that have such a large fan base who actually take the time to search for your Franco American Macaroni and Cheese on line and in every store they ever go in and blog about it. Again, someone in your corporate offices who make the decisions regarding product demand should be given links to all the places where people talk about finding this wonderful product again. IF they are intelligent enough to have climbed the corporate ladder to get to the position they presently hold, hopefully they will be wise enough to see what so many people are wishing to purchase. NOT the Campbell's macaroni sauce thing, the real Franco American thing. I join in this group and all the groups online and people who search the stores for this product still, after it being pulled off the market so long ago, in asking that you look at the fork in your road of bringing the original back. Your fork is obvious, now give it a try and see how many people will pick up THEIR forks and purchase your products for many generations to come. SOMEONE there must have that glint in their eye telling themselves that bringing this old product back just might work and will start seriously discussing it in headquarters. OMG I love this Franco American Mac and cheese it is the best stuff in the whole wide world! THE BEST! I wish that they would bring it back on the shelf's so that me and my family can purchase it and eat it all up. It was the best noodles and the best cheese ever so creamy, and delicious. I grew up eating it I'm 23 and about to have a baby and I wish I could eat thing stuff even as I type this cause I know if I was eating this my baby would be doing jumping jack in my womb right now and be like yeah now that's the stuff! I am part of the majority here. Mac and Cheese in the can was like heaven. There just wasn't any other product out there that would even come close to those long noodles and smooth cheese sauce. I can already taste it..... Give me the recipe and I will make it myself and put it back on the market. You just can't beat the best!!!!

I've searched for this product for years too.. when it first started disappearing I would buy a few cases. Miss it soooo much and wish they would bring it back. All I got from the company when I wrote to them was that it was discontinued. No explanation why or anything and the new stuff they make doesn't touch it. Nothing else does.. I read here every sentiment from all of you that I always had about this canned Mac n Cheese, "Worms" I called it. About 15 years ago it was sold in Big Bear, CA and I bought every can at every store that carried it and ate right out of the can!! Breakfast, lunch and dinner all day, everyday by golly! And these cans were often covered with dust, mind you. Like I was the only one interestd, PLEASE.. I contacted the company a few times and Vermont Country store and gave the labels to local supermarkets and no one claims thay can get it. Someone out there will make if if they get enough orders (demand) to produce it. Chef Boardee has canned stuff just like the dry crap in a box, you can't fool us... it has to be the thick, gloopy cheese and the thick, wide and long noodles.

I'm 38 years old and still crave the taste of those delicious canned worms. I remember when I first started working at age 14. When I got paid, I would go to the market and get a couple cans for lunch and feast. OMG it was the best stuff. My daughter loved it too and there was always competition for the last can. I remember looking for it repeatedly when it first got discontinued. I thought they were just out, but after so long of searching, I started asking and found out it was discontinued. Recently with all the access to the web, I searched again. I can't believe the amount of ppl with the same fond memories and undying cravings. Add me to the list of people missing this great product. I remember walking home from grade school for lunch each day, and my Mom having this incredible soup ready for me. I ate it several days per week - it was my favorite. I'm so very sorry to hear that Campbels won't produce the product again. Why not bring it back as a limited run product in their new "Heritage Soup" line of products? There... I just did the marketing set up for them. Plus, they can't lose money by running it on a limited run basis. Just ask a little company named McDonalds about their McRib sandwich which pops up for a couple months every few years. Aha! There is Hope! I found a product in the freezer section of the local market called BOB EVANS SPECIAL RECIPE MACARONI & CHEESE, distributed by Bob Evans Farms in Columbus, OH. It reminded me so much of Franco American Macaroni (in the can), only it is almost better, hot, warm or cold - just like the F/A Mac product. I don't know who the chef is who creates this, but he/she must be related to the Franco American folks. Thank You, Bob Evans - whoever you are. You brought back good memories

We had the canned white cheesy mac and cheese every time we went to our Great Grandma's as kids. I use to buy it all the time when I got out into the world on my own. I moved almost 900 miles away in the south and just thought they didn't sell it down there. When I moved back in 3 years later then I couldn't find it anywhere. Now I know why; I really miss that mac & cheese. I hope that Campbells sees all of us that love it and would put it back on the markets. That would be so super cool!!!

The only way Campbells will bring it back is if you all STOP buying their other Spaghetti O's crap! Just don't buy all those different shaped and same tasting inferior products. Take it from an ITALIAN! The 2 best Franco American products in cans was and is the regular Spaghetti (still made under Campbells name) and like you all say the Macaroni and Cheese Sauce. That is it! Now only one survives. So much for the younger generation knowing better huh? You want it? Do something that Campbells cares about. Don't buy their other products. I want it too...

Please bring back your old Mac and Cheese. I don't care if it looks like earthworms. I hate the boxed stuff and all the frozen stuff on the markets today. My son and I were just talking about how much we would make it for lunches it was the best. As far as the difference between the frozen garbage out there and the Franco Mac and Cheese is I will take the perseratives before the high sodium that is used in any frozen food. When I was growing up my father was a truck driver. My mom had tons of cans of Mac-N-Cheese, BUT WE WEREN'T ALLOWED TO HAVE IT. She saved it for my father when he got home from a long haul. The bottom line is profit and if our beloved FAMC fit into their profit picture you would see it on the shelves in three weeks, and they'd probably copy the old label. I grew up with the Franco American Mac & Cheese. My family had a family reunion this past Thanksgiving. My father and my aunt are 85 & 93 respectively. My sister said she thought this would be a good time to use the las two cans of Mac & Cheese that we had. I cooked it and it turned out real well. It had been a long time since I cooked it. I used to make the canned mac/cheese with sliced vienna sausages...I was in the early to mid 50's and one of the things my mom would let me fix myself. From a can, in a pan, and then a bowl. So yummy and easy and kids love it. No it's not the healthiest, but then we played outside all day so it didn't matter. Bring it back!! If we "seniors' remember it and want it it must be good.

This stuff was actually pretty good. And I don't even like macaroni and cheese. I ate it in the 80s as a kid. i could no longer stomach the Chef Boyardee stuff. It gave e kiddie heartburn. So I wanted to try something different. It actually tasted like cheese and not fake orange stuff.

As a child I was a very picky eater, this was my favorite thing to eat. This became my craving when I was pregnant with both my boys and I couldn't find it any where. No other macaroni & cheese in a can could possibly stand up to it. Discontinuing this product was a questionable business decision on Campbell's part. I, too, wish they would bring it back. Wow! What great testimonials. I am 66 years old and hate that I never tried the macaroni and cheese. I grew up on the Franco-American spaghetti and then Campbell's, buying at least 10 cans a week. That, too, was taken off the market about 2009. Loved the stuff. Hate the spaghetti-o's. They taste nothing like the spaghetti. Closest I've found is Kroger's brand, and they are a distant second, but I am going to see if they carry macaroni and cheese. Maybe they are close on that too. Since I never had the original, I won't be able to compare, but I know when something is good and when it's not.

actually, FA was the second best. ANN PAGE from A&P grocery (Blue and white label with a chef on it) was the best I've ever had and it's no longer made and never will be again :( I only got FA if they were out of Ann Page. so many people have retro and throwback things, FA could make a fortune on it.

I Think I got it.Been trying for a year to duplicate.Buy udon noodles they come in similar package as ramen noodles.Will usually be in international aisle.Add 1 package to boiling water cook for about 6 minutes drain and add small bottle of Bertolli fetucinne until almost covered and mix. This comes pretty close

Eating it right now.It has the long thick noodles we remember, the creamy cheese sauce ,sauce is a little stronger but this does work.Daughter slurping out of pot as I am writing this.

I think the noodles that were used are bucatini. They are long, thick hollow noodles, similar to udon, but don't taste like play-doh. Now to get the sauce right! :)

My mom passed away this summer. I was going thru her recipe boxes, looking for a particular recipe. I came across one recipe for "Hamburger Casserole". It was the "go to" recipe, kinda like spaghetti. The recipe had Franco American Mac and Cheese in it. At the store....couldn't find it. Decided to google it. I can't believe this wonderful stuff has been discontinued! And I'll never be able to taste the memories of mom's hamburger casserole again.....that's just sad. Everyone should be able to relive precious memories. May seem silly to some...but not to me and my brother. Campbell's, seems you would profit BIG time by bringing this back for even a limited time. I loved the Mac and cheese also. I would think that someone who is handy should copy all of thse comments and then send them to Campbell's. I have to believe that someone there might have a brain and think thgat if this many people liked it, millions of others would too.

I thought I was going crazy trying to find someone who carried the macaroni and cheese. Store managers kept telling me that they can't get it anymore and I was not the only one asking for it. To compensate I have been experimenting with recepies that I have come up with, and can make mac and cheese that is very close to the FA I loved so much. I am still trying to get the blend of five cheeses right and am very close. My friends who also desire it say it is right on. It is really hard to tell the difference now. It takes quite a while to make it as it is quite a complex process, but it is very close.

I tried the Jimmy Dean's Mac and Cheese with Tuna and breadcrumbs...it was very very close to the taste of what I recall...the only difference was the elbow mac vs the long noodles and it was a little thicker but a bit of milk would fix that...

What year were they in their prime, Nalia? I was in college in the '80s and swear I enoyed Franco American Macaroni and Cheese all the the time, but was too high to notice the lable! But I miss it so much, just like those days.

I sent Campbell a recommendation to start making it again (since they bought Franco American). They pretty much said that they know what the public wants, and thanks. I feel that the cancelled product was one of America's best comfort food. Cambells marketing department should be fired for not even giving remarketing it a second thought. It was really annoying when they would not give me the recipe even though they had no intention to reintroduce it. Oh well, I still smile when I think of eating a can. I probably spent a 100 hours trying to find another product, with no luck. If anyone finds another like product, please let us know.

Campbell should give a reason why they can't seem to bring Franco American Mac and Cheese back. Anyone can see how much it is missed and so in DEMAND. Those cans were a staple for me when I moved into my first place some 35+ years ago. I never realized how many people were craving this until I happened to find this site. Please bring it back!

Hey Alan LaBerge and Rose Bishop. I knew a neighbor that worked as a marketing department manager for Cambells. He was the least intelligent person I ever met. Drunk he admitted niether he, nor any of his marketing personel gave a rats behind about bringing back old products even if they would do well. Said the moral was so low some even tried to hurt the company. The only honest, or even semi-honest thing he ever said. True story and one I now see is fact. As far as Campbell's not giving out the recipe, they're just plain mean folks on top of that. They guy I'm taking about would get drunk can call other neighbors wives; and not for a card game.

I tried Chef Boyardee brand mac and cheese today for lunch HOPING it tasted similar to Franco American's... what a disappointment. I loved Franco American's mac n cheese. The noodles were longer and the cheese taste was so unique. Wish they would bring it back or give out the recipe.

I loved this stuff and have a deathly craving right now! I have found one that tastes identical...its Heinz canned Mac and cheese you could get it at Pete's Frootique in Canada a couple years ago but haven't seen it in awhile. But i hear you can order it from the UK since its still made over there. Tried the chef boyardee and its disgusting but trust me, when I had the Heinz a couple years ago there was no mistaking that unforgettable taste.

I used a pkg. of Udon noodles and mixed a can of cheddar cheese from Campbells with 3/4 cup of milk and it was pretty close to what I remember it tasting like. Try it!

Mom served Franco American Mac and Cheese to my sister and I often. I hadn't had it for quite some time and then in the 80's found it stocked at a Lunds store west of Minneapolis. I changed my shopping habit and began to frequent Lunds just for the franco American Mac and Cheese. Often store stocks were depleted. I simply returned and, when available, bought as many as they had. In the late 90's the manufacturer discontinued the product which I thought a gross marketing mistake as the product was so popular that the shelves were often empty. Campbells should bring the the product back and market it as agressively as the do with the "melting snow boy and hot soup" ad.

I'm 38 now and I remember my mom as a single parent would get home Fairly late from work. She always seemed to have a stock of the good ole Franco American Mac and cheese. I've tried all kinds and nothing can compare. Man I miss that stuff!

I have been looking for this product for years. I miss this so much. Was best served on toast. I Loved it, and would even buy it by the case if need be to have it on the shelf again. There is nothing that tasted like this recipe.

I really miss this classic comfort food of the 80's. If Pepsi can bring back the 80's formula as "Throwback Pepsi" then certainly Campbell's can develop a marketing campaign for this famous Mac n' Cheese. The challenge is levied.

I would SO love it if you put this product back on the market. I have tried Chef Boyardee mac n' cheese in a can and it isn't half as good as the mac n' cheese you used to make. Why not bring it back????

I remember when I was a kid I used to eat and loved it. I'm 58 now and have not been able to find it. Its like a part of my life is missing. Just like Hormel chili, they changed the recipe and its not the same. From an older Franco American lover please find it in your harts to bring it back.

I too wish they'd bring back that wonderful yellow can! Footie pajamas, a rainy evening, and mac and cheese.... Until they do, try this. Grate up a cup each of white Cheddar and Cheshire cheeses. Can't find Cheshire, use a mild Swiss. If you don't know what a white sauce is, look up how to make a two cup recipe, and make one using butter, white flour, and a SMALL can of evaporated milk and then regular milk a little at a time until thinned to sauce consistency. Remove from heat. Keep stirring and add the cheeses. Season lightly with pepper and salt. Taste and play around with the amount of cheese and seasonings. Thin with a little milk if necessary. Pour this sauce on well cooked bucatini pasta. It's slightly thinner than F-A but beggars can't be choosers. ;) I find it pretty close.

Man, this stuff was sooooo good. Me and my sister were just reminiscing about it. Straight from the can, heated on the stove, with or without a hotdog and guess what; you get to lick the plate afterwards. I'm 55 now and would really enjoy licking the remaining sauce from my totally eaten Franco American Macaroni & Cheese. BRING IT BACK!!!!

Oh yeah, in the recipe above ^^^ I forgot the grated ROMANO cheese! About 1/2 cup. And you may use CREAM instead of the small can of milk. However easy it may be to make, though, I want Franco American back too. We all know that we can make our own. It's the yellow can and the memories that we want back!

I loved this product! When I was in Germany as a GI, we used to bring a case of this when we were in the field- you could eat hot, warm, or cold! Later I turned my bride on to this and it became our favorite dish. It was always tough to find since it was sold out moe often than not. Why did the bail out with a best selling item?

It was one of my favourite comfort foods I could grab quickly on the go and get the satisfaction of my mac cheese fix being complete, it as always sold out and both the Heinz version (which is also not available either) and Chef Boyardee versions do not even come close, I don't understand if spaghetti o's still being made then why not the mac and cheese?????

I called Campbell's and they told me it was taken over by Spagetti O's and fazed out. I'm 67 years old and grew up on Franco American mac n cheese. I told them no one cares about spaghetti o's so why would they discontinue a product that everyone loved.

Back when I was a kid in the 70s, we had a little lakeside cabin in the woods. My friend and I would often spend a week up there in the summer, just fishing and swimming and riding our bikes all day.... quite the adventure for a couple of 12 year old kids. Being on our own was kind of a big deal,but super fun. My folks would take us to the store let us fill up a couple of grocery bags with the food we wanted for our adventure,so it was a mix of cereal and heat-n-eat canned stuff like this F.A. Mac N Cheese. Twelve year old kids don't really want complicated preparation, and this was the pre-microwave era. Open can,pour it in the pan,light the burner, heat and stir. Mmmmmmmmm. I remember one day we got caught in a thunder storm and had to ride our bikes back to the cabin in a torrential downpour...soaked to the skin but soon to be tucked into a steaming bowl of this wonderful comfort food....warm, safe and sound, with the rain down beating on the roof. I've recently been spending time up at that same cabin, with lots of memories flowing back. I'd really, really like to enjoy a can of this M&C up there, just for old times sake....but it ain't happening. Darn-be-darn ! I did get lucky and score a few boxes of Appian Way Pizza Mix recently, which was another huge favorite back then. I did one up and it was even better than I remembered it. I wish Campbell's would bring back this classic favorite, but I won't be holding my breath.....

My mom was clinically depressed and she mostly sent my little brother and me to the Rexall Drug Store for dinner. Sounds sad, but they had little cans of FA Mac and Cheese. I got my favorite food almost every night. It truly was my comfort food. Yummmmmmmmmmm!

This was not a "Health Conscious" choice, but it was the best tasting stuff. I sent Cambell a letter about this product, and their response was that it does not market well, of course we, who have live on it, know they are absolutely incorrect. Too bad they are so shallow in thinking. Even McDonald's brings back the Mac rib sand which (which I'm not a fan of, but my sons love it. Not sure I'll ever get their recipe right, but I continue to this day, with found memories of days gone, and thoughts of corporate greed and ignorance. More has been written about their dead product , then their best soups. Fools!

I grew up in the 60's loving Franco American Mac n Cheese and crave it all the time. I'm so disappointed they stopped making it! Why would they when it clearly has a substantial fan base? When I was pregnant the cravings grew to an amazing and uncomfortable need and I would have traded my car just for one can again. Campbells you must support pregnant women! Bring back the stuff immediately. I would still buy cases of it.

I grew up in the sixties and i too loved this product . My parents owned a small grocery store and i remember eating it every week . I just loved the stuff. It had such things as taste and flavor going for it . The stuff today is no comparison to Franco American . A company should get the recipe and get it back on the store Shelves .

I'm 53 years old and I have fond memories of my Dad serving me FA Mac and Cheese every time my mom had a night out with her friends and he was left at home to take care of me. I remember him opening the can and the two of use eating it cold, right from the can. It was so delicious. When mom would come home, she'd see the empty can on the counter and say, "where's the dirty pan? what did you guys eat this ice cold" and Dad and I would just laugh and say yes!!

I miss this mac n cheese soooo much. The only canned product I would eat as a kid. On my own in my first apartment, I lived on it & Cheerios. I, like every one here wish they would bring it back. If there is a petition out there somewhere I will gladly sign it.

I am amazed and enthused by such wide support for this product. we came home from school for lunch during grade's 7 and 8 and this was a staple. I ate this growing up when I was little, as a young adult when I couldn't afford anything else, and suddenly it disappeared off the shelves. Yesterday I had surgery and had the discs in my throat removed. All I can think about today is how I wish I had some of the Franco American Macaroni and Cheese. It tasted great and it was soft enough that I could eat it now. It must have been a great product if I am still craving it at 54 years old. I see that lots of others still crave it too. None of the new macaroni and cheese in a can comes close to how great this was. I, no longer buy mac and cheese in a can. Please Campbell's bring back the Franco American Macaroni and Cheese in a can. Obviously, I am not the only one that misses it.

Most of you may not remember because A&P went under long before Franco American Macaroni cheese stopped production, but as a child, ANN PAGE canned macaroni cheese was much much better than Franco American brand. But at this point I'd settle for either. No idea what kind of cheese AP used but it was white (not yellow) w long hollow noodles and there was nothing else like it. I KNOW it wasn't cheddar but I'd give anything to have my childhood love back.

By the way, bucatini pasta noodles, the same hollow noodles as that found in the macaroni cheese is under the Barella brand at KROGER! :)) have fun experimenting I will let you know if I come up w a cheese combination that approximates the real thing.

My grandmother used to put a couple of can of Franco American Mac and Cheese in a casserole dish, sprinkle it with shredded cheese and breadcrumbs. Then she would bake it until it had a nice light crust. It was AWESOME!!! I wonder if Campbells has seen hoe LONG this thread is. It certainly seems like an awful lot of people liked this product. We grew up with this mouth watering Mac n cheese. This is the best, tried others and nothing can beat Franco Mac n Cheese. Please bring it back. For anyone who remembers the canned Franco-American Macaroni and Cheese, this is spot on! My kids loved this stuff growing up (and so did I!). Simple, fast, and uses basic ingredients besides the pasta itself. Enjoy! FRANCO-AMERICAN MACARONI AND CHEESE HOMEMADE RECIPE Ok, you will need: 1/2 lb bocatini pasta* (fat spaghetti with a hole down the center) 1 (10 3/4 oz) can condensed cheddar cheese soup 3/4 cup milk (any that you choose) 2 tbsp butter, melted Boil your pasta, and I suggest for the authentic really soft pasta feel, to cook it on the high end of the recommended range. Perhaps even 1 minute longer. While it is cooking in a bowl mix the (undiluted) soup, milk and cooled melted butter in a bowl. Mix until completely combined. Drain pasta and put back in the hot pot, immediately add the cheese mix and let simmer for a minute or 2 on low heat. *We actually found the bocatini pasta at Target!

"BARILLA" makes "BOCATINI"-you can get it in just about any super market, or even Walmart!

I am 60 years old and in grade school took a thermos with either Franco American macaroni and cheese OR macaroni-os twice a week. The other 3 days I had PB&J, egg salad or tuna sandwiches. To this day whenever I walk down that canned macaroni isle, I peer at the shelf, hoping my favorite canned pastas will magically reappear!

If all else fails, Chef Boy Ar Dee makes canned mac & cheese. The pasta's much shorter in length than Campbell's, but it's the next best thing. Amazing, 15 years now since Campbell's retired Franco American and the Mac & Cheese.

I remember in Kindergarten they served FA Mac n Cheese. (Now I'm 57yrs) I still had cravings through the yrs and anytime I saw it would buy it.If it came back I would definitely buy and enjoy.

nothing better as a kid to be playing outside when your mom calls you in for lunch and you find she made FA mac and cheese. absolutely blissful.

I grew up on it and miss it dearly. I have searched and searched but have found nothing that comes close yet but have thought of a couple things to try yet. Wish me luck. I just wish they remake it again I'd stock up a few cases myself and no I wouldn't share lol.

I and my young family loved 🥰 FA Mac & Cheese in the can. It was my kids favorite, spoon & fork down! Tried Chef’s canned version and have one suggestion for them. Toss this version and replace it with the discontinued Franco-American version. It would be an instant hit!

Adventures of Lassie and her new master, forest ranger Cory Stewart (Robert Bray). That Sunday's Sullivan show was the last in black & white. Instead of the normal live telecast, the episode was pre-taped to accommodate the Beatles' busy schedule. Soupy Sales performed "The Mouse."
