Okay, I thought I was the ONLY one to remember these things! Every time I'm in the grocery store and I pass the hot dog area, I look to see if they're on the shelf...just in case.

Frank N' Stuff with Chili was the best! I remember they used was Hormel chili, but, alas, there is no mention of our beloved FNS on the Hormel Web site. If anyone out there wants to begin some kind of organized campaign to attempt to bring them back count me in.

I loved these. I have no idea when they stopped making them, but I am the only one in my family that remembers and I was the youngest having been born in 1981.

Just wanted to add to it. I loved the Cheese Frank n Stuff they were a hundred times better than any cheese hot dogs on the market these days. I would buy them in a second. The last time I saw them was around 1994 when I was in the Air Force. The chili was ok to but give me the cheese.

well, do any if you guys remember biting in to have 700 degree chili squirt through the back of your skull like Freakin lava under 500psi? I still liked em, but I quit chuggin pig flesh (eyeballs, snouts & anuses? No thanks.) 15 years ago anyway.

Oh how I miss you frank 'n Stuffs! I am 31 now, for years, my mom has tried to track them down for my brother and I for a funny present. Put a piece of american wrapper cheese, ketchup / mustard, with a side order of chips. incredible. all you had to do was put two buns, two FNS and break a slice of cheese in half on top of them, what was it 35 seconds and you had the best dog in the world??? Bring them Back

In 1990 I was a member of a short-lived rap group called frankenstuff. At the end of every show we threw the eponymous weiners out into the audience. The reception was mixed. Good times.
xenagirl - May 07, 2009 - Report this comment
frankenstuff hotdogs were my favorite as well.I remember a news story about people microwaving the hotdogs and burning the insides of their mouths because the chili was scolding hot inside.I think too many consumers were trying to cash in like the McDonalds hot coffee lawsuit so the hotdogs were quietly put to rest. Please bring em back.I keep looking but I never see them.
Ya - May 24, 2009 - Report this comment

I have looked for these hot dogs for years ! They were absolutly the best, no questions asked. If they are worried about a lawsuit all's they would have to do is put a disclaimmer on the package, just like McDonalds did with their coffee cups & apple and cherry pie boxes. It's as simple as that. Now I will be waiting for them to hit the shelves again. I've been waiting 20 years already, what the hell is a couple more years.

i used to love these hot dogs from when i was a kid. i can remember at first didnt want the chili i would make my mom use the sprayer from the kitchen sink to spray the chili out and squirt mustard in its place. what a waste lol. i later started eating them with the chili until they were discontinued.. so sad. I too look every time im in a supermarket especially when I'm far from home

Oh I would soooo love to have these back. I have told my kids about them and they want to try them too. It would be really nice to be able to share this memory with my kids. I bet if they brought them back they would be a big seller. PLEASE BRING THEM BACK!!!!!!!!!

I too loved the Hormel's Frank'n'stuffs. They stopped making them because of people burning their mouths on the chili. Which in a country where we need labels to tell us not to blow dry our hair while taking a shower... I do not see this product making a comeback. Lawsuits aside, these dogs were great. At least the Hormel chili no beans and your favorite hot dog will do(these days I'm partial to Nathan's). The frank'n'stuffs were much more convenient however.

I just got off the horn with Mr. Jonathan at Hormel. We're back baby! They are firing up the stuffin machines. They make chili now and put in cans.
Mr. Jonathan, President, Hormel Foods, Inc. LLC - May 31, 2010 - Report this comment
When I invented chili back in the 80's, I had no idea how popular it would become. Now, as we look on into the 21st century, chili stands fast on the horizon, ready to serve you once again. We will be offering our canned chili to you, the consumer, and will be honored if you would grace your weiners with our invention slathered upon the. Ian Flemming owns the rights to the chili squirtin' machine technology that goes up in the hotdog. His lawyer called me in 1994 and told me quite bluntly. "hey...guess what......no more "twinkie the kidd" for you.." I was like "huh" Then he said, "you are now prohibitted from making stuffed hotdogs. do you know Mr. Pickles?" I then hung up on him. I had no idea who Mr. Pickles was. Felt as if there was a weird sexual overtone in his inflection. Mr. Rands will probably fill you all in later on what is sizing up to be the biggest courtroom battle since Donkey Man wanted yet another bag of chips. Thank you and please look for our canned chili in the soup isle at your nearest local grocer. Thank you for allowing me this time.

I loved those hotdogs. I've never looked at another hotdog the same. To have one today would bring back such great memories. Maybe we should write to conagra foods. They are the ones that own hormel. They own tons of food company' s.

You mean to tell me one man and his lawyer are the only ones in the world that can stuff hot dogs? That makes me wonder if these stooges are responsible for the ball park cheese hot dogs. Anyway i would suggest coming up with your own machine

I remember them and I remember them becoming contaminated with some type of bacteria. They recalled them and I never seen them since then. Although if I remember, the cheese ones weren't included in the recall. I liked them and the cheese ones too.

There was a class action lawsuit against Hormel for Frank n Stuff's brought about by people who burned their mouths and faces while eating a frank n stuff. I could not find any information on the settlement. So thank the lawyers for ruining this culinary masterpiece.
