Description
This candy may have been around before the 80's but I remember them around '83-'84. They were made by the Willie Wonka Company and came in a yellow cardboard box. They were a hard gumball-shaped candy that had several levels of different flavors. I recently saw a box of them at a local convenience store, so apparently they are still around.

They were so much better in the 80's! Now they are little and not really jawbreakers.

How much bigger were they, and the box, in the 80's..? I can't tell from the picture alone.

Yup, they sure where bigger in the "old days" and they tasted better too, and had my favourite a blue one, which they don't have anymore.

Did they come with a different flavor inside back in the days? I seem to remember the centers being different flavors per color. Now they all have the same boring pink center!

Loved them. they were soooo delicious. i used to suck them but inevitably get impatient and start crunching. the kid in me misses them like mad. but the part of me that pays my dental bills is very glad I can't find them

Lol, the box is so 80s; You'd never see the word "midget" printed on anything now in today's politically correct society. Plus i think it's a strong indicator that it came from a point when they still made the big ones since, as i understand, the big ones were the regular Gobstoppers and the kind in the box were the miniature versions. Even now i think the kind in the box are much smaller and only have about two layer apiece.

By the way, guys; They have been bringing the blue ones back for the Gobstopper Eggbreaker spin-offs they do just about every year around Easter. I wish they still made the big ones though, especially the blue ones.

Everlasting Gobstoppers! Originally came out in 1976 and were off the charts popular by the 1980s
