Description
They were exactly like Jell-o pudding pops only these were a fruitier version. They came in mixed berry, strawberry and raspberry. They came out around 1986 and lasted a few years unfortunately. They rocked and I miss them.

I still can remember 11 years ago when I was 10 years old waking up in the summer and eating a whole box of Jello Gelatin Pops, while watching Mr. Belvedire and The Price is Right before I would ride my bike to the pool. These MUST make a comeback!! I'm glad there are others out there who agree!
Noelle - August 28, 2008 - Report this comment
Add one more vote for bringing these back. They were my favorite summertime treat. I used to eat several in a row sitting on the front porch of my grandma's house. She always kept her freezer stocked with them because she knew I liked them so much. Someone else mentioned the texture--it was great, wasn't it? You could sink your teeth into it, unlike hard popsicles. It's definitely time for a comeback.
Monica - September 13, 2008 - Report this comment
Wow, was it really that long ago? I can't believe I remember these if they were only out a few years and I was only 6 years old! These were the best, hope they bring them back someday...
truckboy79 - October 16, 2008 - Report this comment
They still make these, however "Popsicle" brand owns them now, and they are marketed as JELLO Pudding pops. So, I bought a box... not even close to the original!! Don't buy the new ones, you'll be disappointed.
Susan - October 21, 2008 - Report this comment
Here's another vote! They were the best popsicle of all time! I do wish that they would come back.

We loved these as kids. I, too, wish they still made them. I loved the thin shell of ice they had on them. The fruit Jell-O Pops were so good, too! I think I liked those better!
Ian - February 19, 2009 - Report this comment
Yeah the closest thing to frozen confection perfection! The last time I can remember buying a box was about 12-13 years ago. They were great flavors I really liked the orange ones too. Rainbow and shrek push- ups are pretty tasty. I think the recipe is missing the slightly creamy element the gelatin pop had.
Leah - February 23, 2009 - Report this comment

Jason - May 25, 2009 - Report this comment
The gelatin pops and the fruit n' cream gelatin pops were mine and my siblings favorites as kids. When my mom would by them, I used to hide a couple behind other things in the freezer, so I could enjoy them still when the box was long gone...my siblings would get so mad. They need to come back. I'd love to share them with my kids.

JUst had to write after having Julie's Organic Sorbet Bars. They taste exactly like Jello-Gelatin pops-same amazing texture!I have missed those so much! I recently bought Julie's sorbet bars at Whole Foods. You have to try them if you are missing the old school gelatin pops.

I, too, check the frozen isle everytime I go to the grocery store in hopes that I will find my all time favorite popsickle! I had chronic tonsilitis as a child and this was the only thing soothing enough to eat. I was devastated when they took them off the shelf. I soooo wish they would bring them back!
Rita - July 06, 2009 - Report this comment
I think that they should bring them back because we are all old enough to buy them now, whereas when we were kids, our parents only allowed one box a week or maybe two weeks. I loved them so much! We definitely need to bring them back I think I will email Bill Cosby! :)

I LOVED the JELL-O Gelatin Pops. My favorite was strawberry. I have been looking fot them everywhere since they were taken off of the shelves; I even tried a retro food store online. I will be the first to buy several boxes if they are brought back.

Ohhh I craved the strawberry ones soooooo fricking bad when I was pregnant! Ironically, the worst part wasn't the fact that they aren't made anymore-- the worst part was that my husband didn't even believe that they ever existed at all!-- He doesn't remember them at all! I can't wait to show him this...

Wow, I didn't know they were discontinued, either. I don't like popsicles AT ALL. But I LOVED the gelatin pops! I look at the grocery store every once in awhile, too. The texture when you let it melt in your mouth just a little... Ahhhh. I'm going to go sign the petition now.

If Jello brought these back I would for sure buy at least a box a week. I wish they also made the original pudding pops...those were so delicious. The new ones taste artificial. Makes me sad.

I think I have the answer for how to make these!! I was on youtube looking at old commericals and found this one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4Cz9tAc9xE It shows them using a mixer on a bowl of jello and whipping it up. I am going to try this and see how it comes out!

I LOVE JELLO POPS!!! I get mad when i think how GOOD they used to be!!!! RASPBERRY WAS THE BEST!!
stephen - June 26, 2010 - Report this comment
I loved these things! I was at a box a week back in the day. You can make them but it takes time. Dan is right about the commercial, make jello as usual and then put it in the blender whip it for 6-10 min, put in freezer for ten min, repeat every ten min until mix is cream smooth and thickish, poor into molds. careful not to over or under mix. It took me a couple tries to get it right.
stephen - June 27, 2010 - Report this comment
and adding a little whipping cream, corn syrup and, sugar helps a lot to keep it from getting foamy

I can't remember the flavor of these bars but I know they were so good; I still remember exactly how they looked and how the texture was. I loved the fruit ones, I think they had a chocolate one as well. I can still remember my husky levi wearing self chew into the outside ice sheet and into the soft fruit-yello like texture....delicious. I'm getting a bit emotional they were so good, but I can't just goto the store and get some. I would with no word of a lie, pay $50 for a box right now. I don't know how to get the folks at jello to bring back these we are all talking about, but I would join the club to do so. Can't believe so many people feel as I do, much love to you all.

The gelatin pops were good, and so were the pudding pops, but my favorites, by far, were the Jell-o Fruit & Cream bars. Sadly, only the pudding pops have been resurrected, and in a sad mockery of their original form, to boot.

My sisters and I used to eat these all the time!!!! One day when my grandmother went to the grocery store we asked her to pick up more Jello pops because we were outand she came back with thePudding Pops.... Sooo not the same!!! you can actually make your own jell o pops. Make a box of jello according to the instructions, and add 1/3 cuo sugar, freeze in popsicle holders. You have to use regular jello, the diet will not work for this, and to get the right texture, you have to use the sugar

My wife used to work for the company and luckily knew the recipe through word of mouth. Make the package of gelatin according to directions, raspberry my fave, then mix in 1/2-2/3 cup Cool Whip until well blended. Freeze in paper ccups or molds. Makes 6-8 I make these all the time and pretty much taste like the original ones. Only thing missing would be the icy coating they used to have. I can still remember that first snap :) oh and the pudding pops are the same recipe. We made those last week and oh boy are they amazing. Both very close to original. (For pudding pop the stovetop is ideal but instant will be also close)

I cannot wait to make these. Not trying to ruffle any feathers, but I have never been a fan of cool whip. We always made whipped cream with heavy cream, powdered sugar, and the seeds from a real vanilla bean, wonder if the two are interchangeable? Guess I have some serious face stuffing/research to do.
