I do remember these Kraft Toffees. My mom used to buy them by the bag. They were soft and not too hard. Four flavors Rum&Butter, Chocolate, coffee and I believe vanilla?? and the wrappers were blue, gold/brown, green and red repectively. I often catch myself looking for these on the net. Kraft, maybe its time to bring back this classic treat!

Werther's Original has some Toffee that looks (and reminded me of) the old Kraft toffee. The flavor is the typical Werther's butter toffee flavor - but .. yeah - it sent me back and had me looking for where I can pick up the Kraft ones ... sad that I can't anymore.

My Bama used to have these in a dish in her living room - she let me eat as many as I wanted! - So good!

My dad worked at Kraft and he had bags of them locked in his filing cabinet. One day I noticed the cabinet unlocked! I went in and ate a pile of them. I was smart, when I finished I locked the cabinet by pushing the lock in so he would never know I was in it. Do you remember the Koogle peanutbutter?

When I was younger, my grand-parents use to keep some at their house too. I loved those Toffee. I've been looking to find some candy that would come close to those. Unfortunately, I can't find any. The closest I've found were a Canadian product by the name of Kerr's Toffee. They too have different color wrappings for the different kind of toffee they have but they don't do justice to what the Kraft toffee used to be.

If we can have those toffee again omg life is gonna be beautiful! :-)

OMG Kraft Softee Toffees! The best! We used to get those ads during Bugs Bunny/Roadrunner hour, just before Hockey Night in Canada. I lovelove LOVED them. And YES I remember Koogle. It came in different flavors, too, if I remember correctly. Just don't remember the flavors... sigh

My grandmother used to buy Kraft toffees every Christmas and put them in her pretty crystal candy dish for my sisters and me. To this day (years and years later!)I long for the delicious toffees in the pretty wrappers. My favorite: Butter Rum!
Mishca - November 22, 2010 - Report this comment
brachs puts out some soft flavored toffes similar, maybe try them, they are usually in the buy it by the pound displays at the grocer. i get them at kroger, they are good, i like the orange and the butter rum, well, maybe chocolate and the raspberry are the best ?

softtie toffies they were great they always take away a good treat, and give you another choice, that doesnt taste as great, ther was always a bag of them around in our house ...
Jacqueline - February 01, 2011 - Report this comment
They were the best, even Werther's Original toffees dont taste as rich as they did. Probably the ingredients were too expensive, but I would spend an extra 2$ for it! Please Mr. Kraft give us back the Softy Toffees (the original recipe: blue, red, green and brown (I think ?)with the exact same ingredients ... The butter-rum was my favorite ! hem !!!!

Oh, Kraft Softee Toffees were the BEST! I even checked while I was in the U.S. to see if maybe THEY had them. Think of them sooooo much. They were the BEST. Kerr's doesn't come close to those Kraft toffees. Mmmmmmmm! Bring them back!!
Basia - December 07, 2011 - Report this comment
my most favorite candy growing up...we got them at Christmas and would tie strings on them then hang them on the tree. I would search that tree for them and eat as many as I could...why they would ever stop making them I don't know...I hope they come back!!!!!! My Christmas tree's just haven't been the same without them.....

I remember them primarily as a Halloween treat. Fuirst thing I did when separating y loot was to get all the Kraft toffees into one pile. Yes the wrapper colors were Brown, Red, Bue, and Green. I think there flavors were Rum & Butter, Regular, Chocolate, and one other. Could it have been mint(Green)?

So good to know there are so many out there that remember Softee Toffee. My mouth waters when I think about them. Have tried Kerrs and other brands but they dont live up to what I remember. My biggest fear is that they will come back and not live up to my expectations, or memories!

I remember being able to purchase softee toffees in the mid nineties, then one day the disappeared for unknown reasons. They were very good and unlike the hard toffee chocolate bar w**w*g, it did not break your teeth!
Dale - October 22, 2012 - Report this comment
I can't even find a picture of the wrappers lol Everytime I ask someone if they remember them, they say no. I loved them. Used to get the big bag and reach in, oh, a red one, oh, coffee mmmm Where are they??

My brother and I loved the Softee Toffee as well, our Mom would buy them around Christmas, he had his favorite as did I. I saw a comment about Koogle peanut butter and I still have the jar, so glad my Mom kept that. My brother loved it, I think it was a peanut butter/banana flavour. Cheers to the good ol' days!

I miss this candy so much...! It was my favourite growing up and the Rum & Butter were just heavenly...maybe Kraft could sell the rights and recipes to amend who would be willing to make them again...
Brad - October 07, 2016 - Report this comment
like a few others noted happy to see I am not the only one who remembers/wishes to have these back.... and the other are right to in that Kerr's are not as good but those are not as good as they use to be either... Thank you all for the smiles Loved these toffees BRING THEM BACK :)

Did anyone used to carefully peel the foil label from the wax wrapped? That slowed the consumption rate down a little bit
Dwayne - April 03, 2018 - Report this comment
I miss these so much! I cannot even find a pic on the net! They came in blue, brown. green, and red twist wrappers. My grandmother used to put these out in fancy serving bowls at Christmas when I was a kid back in the late 70's and early 80's. We have Kerr's here in Canada which are much harder and chewier, but they are quite close in taste.

Yes, Kraft Softee Toffees, I'm not insane, they did exist, my favourite Halloween candy!!! Along with the Kraft Chocolate carmels I miss these so much....and Libby's Beans, the '70s Old Dutch and Doritos Taco flavoured Tortillas, Neilson's Pep Bar and as of late Campbell's French Canadian Pea Soup and Skippy Peanut Butter!!! ☹️
GI Joe - October 12, 2018 - Report this comment
Indeed Dwayne, its remarkable that there's not even one picture online of Kraft's glorious Toffees...ya can find or stumble upon pics of essentially everything, any unGodly thing imaginable even...it's gotta be some kind of conspiracy, even if they only existed from the 70s into the early to mid 80s in my part of N. America, that still would make them enough of an experience, a memory for tens of thousands, enough to warrant at least one online piece of pictorial evidence...for cryin' out loud, there's even pics of Oliver from the Brady Bunch and Hermann Goreng's satin underwear! 😳
GI Joe - October 13, 2018 - Report this comment
P.S. Yes Dennis, I confess I too used to peel off the foil, got quite expert at it, and in addition I must confess to a freakiness I can no longer bear the weight of keeping as a deep dark secret all these decades....I used to sometimes take perhaps immoral advantage of the Softee aspect of the Kraft Tooffees and take one, maybe two, I was sick I know it but perhaps three or more and roll it into a ball....then.....eat it. 😲

In fall 2023 in Canada I purchased Werther's soft caramels in a "caramel apple" flavour. The texture is exactly like the Kraft Softee Toffees, which I haven't thought about in years. Searching for them online lead me to this site and I'm thrilled to see that other people remember. Definitely the butter rum was the best! I also remember fondly the 'old' recipe Kraft caramels (they are not at all the same now) and the chocolate version too.
Mr. Greg & The Cookies - February 24, 2024 - Report this comment
That is a helpful hint Chloe. Thank you so much. Did anyone find that all allusive photo of this product. I'm glad GI Joe and GI Jane are not fighting. They call my wife and me The Cookies. But do not fight. We do not want fighting.
