Laffy Taffy was one of my favorite candys as a kid, and I still get it now sometimes. The shape isn't the same, however. Remember when they used to come in squares? I liked the old design better. If it's not broke, don't fix it!

Came out in the 70's and were made by a company called Beichs (when they were square) before being acquired by Nestle (Wonka) in the 90's. I think banana was most people's fav, although sour apple was really good too

Loved these so much. My favorite flavors were grape and sour apple (and wasn't there a fruit punch or tropical punch flavor at some point?). I doubt I could eat them now, they'd probably take out my fillings, lol

The Kathryn Beich Candy Co. of Bloomington, Illinois began in 1854. Various chocolates, hard candies and taffy were specialties. Laffy Taffy started being marketed around 1975. Nestle-Wonka bought the rights, keeping the Beich brand until 1984. A nationwide joke contest was promoted in 1988. Prizes ranged from T shirts to a sports car loaded with Laffy Taffy decals around the body. Also sold was a Laffy Taffy Gang series of promo comic books.
