Description
Daily Juice Products in Vernon, Pennsylvania started making these in 1985. They were fruit flavored juices in a clear plastic bottle shaped like a barrel, with a tin foil lid. They came in all the usual juice flavors: fruit punch, grape, orange, cherry, strawberry, etc.

Little League wouldn't have been worth the skinned up legs (from sliding on municipal park diamonds)and fat lips (from getting a pop fly in the mouth) without a cold Little Hug straight out of a styrofoam cooler after the game.

I would love to know if I can get Little Hugs in California. I loved them as a kid and I bet they still taste just as good 20 years later.

Gotta tell ya, I work at the plant in Verona and they just aren't the same. We cut back on the sugar big time to save money, and you can tell. It's weird to see all these people from all over the States though talking about these things I see literally tens of thousands of every day. :)

Little Hugs are cute and I'm glad they're still available.

I loved drinking a little hug. I wished that they tasted as good as they did when I was younger or just before the cut back. THEIR. horrible. It saddens me to say I would rather have a capri sun or water over a hug. Maybe they will do a throwback for us back in the day huggie lovers.

I just bought my first case in a good 15-20 years and they don't taste like they used to. Not nearly as good in the least. How disappointing! :-(

check out the new packaging, flavors, and ingredients - coming this summer. Just as good, but now has vitamins and less sugar... FYI, They are made in Verona, PA, not Vernon.

We used to drink these at my Sally Leige games :) I thought they tasted a little more watery then most juices but they were fun so who cared?

Lil Hugs are a disgusting distortion of fruit juice. All sugar and artificial flavors/colors. I can't find the ingredients listed on the American Beverage Corp website because it's all artificial. I feel so bad for my Mom for pestering her to buy these when we were visiting my grandparents in Florida when I was a kid. I will never let my children near these.

These hugs are NASTEE! The hugs from the 90s were so much better. Why mess w/ a good thing? My nephews and nieces drink them now I'm sorry they never got to taste the REAL HUGS. Y'all used to be better than Capri Sun. Now Capri Sun is WAY better than HUGS.

they make em in tropical flavors as well. though i miss some of the flavors no longer made like coconut. they need to bring em back in a special"nostalgia"pack or something

these were ubiquitous in the 80s and 90s. Last time I had one was at a friends high school graduation party. never really liked them. They had an odd burning thing going on. I remember poking thru the foil to get at them.

We called these quarter drinks (that was the price) and we didn't always have the barrel ones, a lot of times we had the plain oval ones. This was in Brooklyn back in the 80's

I just drank my first hug. I never drank any when I was young. It was horrible. Don't even try it. It must be like the Japanese who like Natto, only if they started eating it before they knew any better. What happened to this liquid?!

Since they switched to Artificial Sweeteners instead of sugar they have become Horrible tasting. I fondly remember the little barrel drink from my youth. Bring back the Real Little Hug!!! Anyone for a Coconut Yoo-Hoo?!?

The state of Maine sucks! I can't find these drinks anywhere, in the entire state! Why do you lie and say they are available at Hannaford and wal mart and they're not!? Why won't you sell them in Maine?? What do you have against this god forsaken state?
