Description
It was basically an extended hamburger on a poppy seed bun. It was great because it did not take that long to make plain and I was a picky eater!

I loved it. One of the biggest mistakes McDonalds made was to not bring these back at least seasonally like the McRibs.
BIGGEST MISTAKE MICKEY D'S MADE NOT BRINGING THIS SANDWICH BACK. THAT STEAK SAUCE WAS G-O-O-D!!!ESPECIALLY ON THE FRIES!!!!!!!!!! YOU GOTTA ASK YOURSELF "WHY?"
I have always wanted them to bring back the Steak Sandwich. I would go to McDonald's more often. The steak was good, sauce was good and it came on a roll shape bun and I think it had mushrooms or onions. BRING IT BACK!!!!
Back when the Mcd's beefsteak sandwich came out there weren't many takers but I think there would be now if they brought it back. Everything about the sandwich was great especially the sauce!

In the early 80's,wasn't that called "The Bullseye" long Bun and Patty with just BQ sause and onion's?
I recall it being different than a normal patty... I miss this sammich something fierce.
I worked for McDonalds when I was 16 years old. I ate the steak sandwich plain before work and on my break. It was that good! They need to bring it back. It was great!
I know. This was by far McD's best sandwich, hand's down. The meat was good, maybe more like a quarter pounder, and that SAUCE! I THINK it had onions, did it? PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!!
I worked at McD's while this sandwich available. It was more like a mcrib patty and you are right about the sauce. Still miss this sandwich after all these years.
I don't remember if I had this or not....It looks so much like the McRib....Maybe as a kid it was this,not the McRib.Obviously they got rid of it so then I had the McRib and its the one I remember.I just watched two commercials on youtube for this sandwich....interesting to me was both said the sandwich was available AFTER 4.....
I remember this actually being called something with "PM" in the name 'cause it was only available at night or something. This was like '82?
Mcdonalds had a sandwich called the Mickey d and it had a keiser bun, it was great and it needs to come back
This came out in 1980 in limited markets from the East coast to Chicago and was only available after 4 pm
I miss that sandwich
It started as available after 4 PM only then went to a regular lunch item they adjusted the size and price not enough units were sold and since it was a high food cost Item it was discontinued
I loved these when I was a kid. I only got to eat 2 of them on 2 separate occasions. They were great! They even had steak sauce packets to go with them and a first: they came with a steak knife! I had used those 2 steak knives for many years before they wore out. But fond memories.
Loved these sandwiches best ever
