Soooo good, nobody remembers these!

I totally remember these, although we only had apple, raspberry or cheese- no cinnamon. I always got the cheese and it was sooooo good. It's just like an Entemann's cheese danish.

These were good anyone know why they stoped selling them??? Or when??

I am a picky eater and this is the only breakfast I would eat at Mcdonald's at a kid.

Gods I miss the cheese danish even more than fried Mcnuggets.

The cheese danish was great! I too wonder why they stopped selling them. That cinnamon "roll" type thing they got now is barely passable.

oooh! I loved the cinnamon one. They had raisins in them too. They would heat them up in a little toaster oven before serving it to you.

I loved the cinnamon danish - why in the world did they discontinue those? Whoever made that decision must have been the same person to discontinue the McDonald Land cookies. If I could only find those again!!!!

I fouind this because I was looking for a recipe or to find out who originally made the McDonald's cheese danishes. Foods don't disappear, they just get made for a different chain. **sniff*** I miss it!

I ate a Cloverhill Bakery Cheese Danish found at the local megamart.It took me back to when I was ten years old eating breakfast with my mom at the local Mcdonalds.This brand taste EXACTLY the same as the danish I loved as a child.

I really loved the Cinnamon Danish; really melt in your mouth. That was a mistake, getting rid of those. What's up with these companies, having products that 90%+ of the customers love, but then decide 'Oh, let's try something new, and get rid of this and that?' Are they really that out of touch, or are they just arrogant and think whatever their R&D comes up with will be even better?

The cinnamon, cheese and raspberry danishes were by far the best breakfast item McDonalds ever put on their menu. I remember I could eat one of each and my mom would get so upset with me! Nothing will ever come close, but I guess I have to be happy that I have that memory.

Yes!!! I too agree w all the other comments.. I am actually also pregnant like the one gal And suddenly the cheese danish just came to my mind And I thought what ever did happen to that danish.. They were a huge part of my childhood getting breakfast W my mommy from McDonnald's drivethru and eating This wonderful warm danish in the morning! I agree..why did they ever go away & it's not Just that it's the orange juice that used to come out of the machine freshly squeezed. You could get small med or large. Now it's a carton. Makes me say hMmmm...

I used to get the cheese danishes warmed up and they would put ice cream on top of them. Whenever I smoked a fatty, it was my favorite munchie!

I loved the apple danish. it was hot and had drizzled icing. and it was apple-not overloaded with cinnamon like the packaged stuff in stores. I ate a cloverhill apple danish today and while it is closer than everything else I tried, it is still not the same. I went to chicago ten years ago and they still had them up there, although not quite the same, but they stopped selling them in west tn in the early 80's I think. wish they would come back.

We had Independent Study for Electronics lab first hour when I was a junior. We worked in the closed lab in the class. We would stop at McD's and get some cinnamon danish then sneak it into the lab.High five to Ron R.-remember that man? I LOVE those things! Ahhh good times! Good times!

I'm not pregnant, but I still miss the cheese danish. They had the cinnamon ones for longer, but I think they're gone now too. They probably didn't make as much profit as something like the McCafe coffee (their profit margin on their coffee is as large as Starbucks), so they went with the higher-profit item. I wish they had just raised the price on the danishes and kept them.

Oh I want one of the McDonald's danish so bad! I hsve been grieving over the raspberry, cheese and cinnamon danish ever since I realized they were discontinued. I can find things that are kind of similar but i can never find a danish with that same first layer of clear glaze that covered the entire danish. THEN,they drizzled the white glaze on. It was always the perfect temperature and always soft and absolutely perfect. I wish they would bring them back!!!!

I'm trying to find out when the danish first came out and my best guess is the late 80's. According to the menu song commercial of 89 they had three varieties (I'm thinking apple, raspberry, and cheese). I think they probably came out in either 87 or 88

I used to work at McD's from 84 to 90 in Texas. Our danishes were made by Sara Lee. I've found them for sale at food service direct but haven't ordered them...yet. If I could figure out how to steam them at home, I would buy some in a heartbeat even with the cost of shipping! The McD steamer had needles that would shoot the steam inside of the danish to heat and moisten it from the inside out. Use a fork to move the danish onto the steamer needle plate, push it gently down onto the needles, press the button and Mmmmm, 90 seconds later the danish is moist and fragrant and yummy. They also sell a steamer called Roundup Miracle Steamer ($1389 plus 140 for the needle plate) but that's too expensive for me. ;-)

When I worked at McDonald's as a teen, I used to sneak those cheese danishes in the cooler. They were even better cold. The shake mix tasted like custard too. lol

I worked at mcdonalds and when it was break time it was always the big decision raspberry or cinnamon. I would steam it in the steamer twice and put a pat of butter on it!!!! omg yummy!!! mcdonalds bring the Danish back!!!!!!

When I was a kid, my mom used to take me to McDonald's every morning for a warm cheese danish with butter melted on top, after dropping off my older brother at school. They tasted better than any cheese danish I've had to this day (I will say the only thing that even slightly reminded me of it was Entenmanns cheese filled coffee crumb cake, warmed with butter). We're talking 30 some odd years of not finding anything that compares! It's one of my fondest memories. BRING THE CHEESE DANISH BACK MCDONALD'S! Please!

Whoa you guys, I totally agree! The McDonalds danish was a huge part of my childhood memories. Some of the best ever! It always took me forever to decide between the cheese or the raspberry and Mom would be tapping her foot waiting saying, "We're gonna be late for school, hurry up and make up your mind!" Unfortunately I'm gluten free now and it would be cruel and unusual punishment to bring back the McDanish. Though my husband would love it!

I remember in 3rd grade my mom taking me before school one day a week for breakfast. She was very ill while I was growing up so that time was really special for me. I was getting big breakfast and sharing part of it with my Mum. And getting the Danish was so nice. They were something I will always remember.

We worked a mile from the big Elk Grove Village, Illinois location and EVERYDAY the entire office and warehouse ordered breakfast and Danish. We weren't kids, we were adults! I don't eat eggs so I always had the cheese Danish with extra steam. Oh please, please McDonald's bring them back even for a limited run like McRibs like a seasonal fall or winter item. So I went onto Sara Lee web site & found the Danish that I wanted. But Sara Lee will not sell to me. So I contacted my local Frozen food Vendor & they were able to find a Case in a mix Cinn, Apple, Cream Cheese, Raspberry & asked if they had just the one flavor, (that I found on Sara Lee Web site, the lady did deeper looking & I had to talk to the Rep for there company & he could see if they could get. So after a painless conversation, he approved the 1 flavor (Cinn Danish)in a Case. It will take 2 weeks for me to get & the price is 24.95 w/ tax. they will arrive today 10/12/2015- So excited!!!!!!!

I worked at McDonald's when these were first introduced along with the new breakfast menu here in Calgary. There was a gadget you placed the Danish on that had prongs that pierced it. You hit a button and a brief blast of steam would be applied. I'll never forget how great they tasted because of that simple innovative step. Unfortunately, the steamer broke down after about a month and was never replaced/fixed. The Danishes were still okay but not quite as good without that blast of steam.

Apple Danish was the best. Used to love it with an Egg McMuffin with my dad on a Sunday morning. Great memories. I, too, thought I was the only one who remembers and misses them.

Worked at McDonalds in the late 70's early 80's. The cheese danish were the best. We would double steam them with a pat of butter on top. Talk about a cholesterol overload. Sara Lee made a cheese danish that was awfully close to McDonald's.

This is crazy how soooo many people still reminisce about McDonald’s danishes I’m 43 and I Still think about them, this was the only breakfast I ever ate from McDonald’s as a kid Apple was my favorite I didn’t think anyone knew about them. I worked there 85-87. They were still steaming them in 85 and had stopped using the steamer by 87 (I don't recall exactly when in between). I was told the steamer took too long and couldn't meet their speed requirements. Anyway, I remember the raspberry and cheese, like the cheese the best. Regarding the comments above about the Sara Lee / Chef Pierre being the same, they don't look the same: the Sara Lee / Chef Pierre have diagonal stripes across them but the McDonald's cheese danish didn't (as I recall). But if they taste the same, who cares? I'll try to find them!

The Sara Lee / Chef Pierre might have been the supplier source, but at the time the original McD danishes were square in shape, with a small dollop of the filling showing in the middle, thicker strips or dollops of glaze along the top, covered with a superthin glaze over all. I worked McD’s for 6+ years... ate a danish almost every day. Cheese, apple, or raspberry - loved them all. Cinnamon was my least favorite. Cheese danish, double-steamed, with 3 butter pats. Simply heaven! Prince Castle makes a bun steamer... might work.. but still way to pricey. Just wish I could figure out a way to duplicate the internal steaming. The three prongs inserted into the steamer worked so efficiently.

I worked there in 96-98 and we had apple or cheese. They were squarish in a plastic bag. You would throw them in the mic and they would balloon up. The cheese was the best. I miss them

I worked at McDonald’s in the early 80’s. I worked the opening shift doing breakfast and getting the lunch rush done. I loved making a steamed raspberry Danish for my breakfast break. We put them on a steam machine to heat them up. We had cinnamon, apple and the raspberry. Wish they’d bring them back.
