In New Zealand they still deep-fry the apple pies! We havent had cherry to my knowlege, but we have had blackcurrent!

I loved the cherry ones..I wished they still had them ! I liked the little bubbles on the top from them being deep fried.

I loved these pies too. I did figure out an alternative.I Took won ton dough,and filled it with canned apple pie filling that I cut into smaller cube sized pieces,and added a little extra cinnamon and sugar to the filling. You put it in the won ton dough and seal it up into a pocket. Then deep fry them. You can also do this with cherry filling too.

You can get these at Hardees which is owned by Carl's Jr. so I think they might sell them too. I think I even saw them at Roy Rogers. Still deep-fried in Spain's McDonalds!

I miss the deep fried ones also, since when does McD's care about cutting back the grease and going baked? FYI if any one reading this has a KFC ( Kentucky Fried Chicken) by them, they have the deep fried apple ones and they ROCK...and so did the 80's!

The Mcdonald's across the street where I work in Aurora, IL still has the deep fried apple ones..they taste just like the good ol' days and still come in that envelope packaging! they are AWSOME!!!i cant tell you the joy i experienced when i ordered a pie expecting to get the baked one in my bag and i opened it up only to discover the old fried ones. i swear...the baked ones are just as bad for you..they may as well have left them. you dont go to mcdonalds to eat healthy!

Church chicken still has fried apple and cherry pies . They have a little ribbon of frosting on top.
