Description
Basically a boneless serving of rib meat on a bun with lettuce and tomato... This is not a mainstay, but something they have offered occasionally.

Love the things but , definitely, a 4 napkin sandwich! McRib sandwich was introduced by McDonald's in 1981. After riding high on the permanent menu for a few years, McRib was never completely taken away, but is now available only in select regions and at certain times.

I love when they put them on the menu. I make sure to get at least one or two of them.

McRib's are a Beautiful Thing!! Granted it is alot smaller than it used to be everytime they bring it back, but still one of my favorites, esp with extra onions and pickles!!

they never came with lettuce OR tomato I had one the other day on the way to work and let me just say...why dont they just get it over with and dip the whole damn think in sauce and give you a beach towel to clean up with....my steering wheel is McSticky.

This was so, so good, but I would always kind of feel kind of guilty, like I was doing something bad by eating this sandwich. Every now and then, you'd bite a little hard nugget of gristle...

I ate one in 1980!

I'd like to know why they got rid of McDonaldland Cookies! And I wish they had Shamrock shakes ALL year long not just around St. Patrick's Day!

I have never liked these...I have always called them McCardboard. Thats what I thought they tasted like. Not to mention the creepy shape.

Totally the best thing to ever come out of Mickey D's. I still love those things, and have to have one when they come back around again.

These are WONDERFUL. I love the rich BBQ suace but always leave off the pickles and onions. I'm begging McDonald's to make these a permanent part of the menu!

DIDN'T THE MCDONALD'S FRANCHISE GET SUED OVER REPORTS OF A MAN PURCHASING ONE OF THOSE SANDWICHES AND BITING INTO A RAT'S HEAD?
Judd Nelson's Nostrils - September 26, 2008 - Report this comment
2 all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, rathead on a sesame seed bun.

I don't care what the McRib is made out of...I LOVE IT! And I'd like to second bringing back McDonaldland cookies, and having the Shamrock Shake all year round!
Stewie - October 01, 2008 - Report this comment
I totally agree with Jenny. Most of the old McDonald's items should never have left the menu. The McRib is always the first that comes to mind. It's been on and off the menu since I was a kid in the 80's and the only senisible to do is keep it on the menu PERMANENTLY.

Loved the Simpsons episode they did on the Mc Rib, but instead it was some kind of Krusty burger.

Ah...I'd sell a left one for a McRib and a Shamrock Shake right about now....
Sharon - January 16, 2009 - Report this comment
I bet when they bring them back "for a limited time" (of course) they sell way more than they would if it were on the daily menu. Instead of eating them occasionally, people gorge on them to stock up on the memory... until the next time! :) My mom and sister love these. I tried one once but the texture freaked me out too much. It did taste good though!

The ultimate McMysteryMeat. Why is the "patty" shaped like it has bones if this is a boneless rib rack?? So totally bizarre. I think whenever people mistakenly say the '80s were bad, it's because of things like the McRib.

except that it had about 50 grams of fat!!!aka GRIZZLE....McDonalds corporate only keeps things permanently on the menu that sell well. They add new product to change things up once n a while. Use to work the grill, always making new patties. None of this keep warm in slide out drawer stuff. When I was younger I would always order a cheeseburger with no mustard cause then they would hve to make one fresh hot off the grill. Not anymore!!!!! Open up the drawerrrrrrr

I worked at McD when they brought these back, the most awesome thing (they should honestly have on the menu) is McRib meat, the old style "packet" honey mustard (not the new sauce cup one), lettuce tomato and a bit of the diced onion, totally an awesome sandwich ;)
