These were cookies that were shaped like they had a bite taken out of them. They may not have been a huge thing or been in every store, but I remember them and I LOVED them.

I remember the chocolate alien, the alligator chocolate chip cookies, the orange fluffy monster with the butter cookies and what else?

I recall at least 4 different types. Chocolate, chocolate chip, butter and either oatmeal or vanilla. Each had its own monster on the bag (box?)

Yes, we used to get them while on family vacations out west. They were sold at either Albertsons or Safeway. The frosted ones were delicious. I wonder what company produced them and why they went away. Too bad. Another classic!

These cookies were the best...just looking up info on them now to find out what happened to them. From the classic cartoon characters on the front of the bag to the sweet taste of the cookies...great memories of my childhood.

My mother just gave me a package of old letters I wrote to her from camp in the mid-1970's. I was begging for her to send me Monster Chomps because everybody else ate them up.

I collect old food packaging, and I would pay GOOD MONEY if anyone has an empty bag from these. Please email me if you do!

I was just researching these cookies and came across this page! I am a little late on chiming in but people thought I was crazy with these cookies!! I had the oatmeal ones with frosting one time at school and a kid accused me of taking a bite and trying to give it to him. haha I would love to get these for my sons birthday on Halloween. Wish they still existed :)

Late to the party but I found this page trying to find these cookies. I LOVED THESE. You can't find the packaging or even an image anywhere. I'd kill for a box.

Everyone seems to remember these from the 70's but they weren't trademarked by Kellogs until 1982. What gives? - March 07, 2016 - Report this comment
I recently picked up one of these bags and wrote about it on my CollectingCandy site. If you'd like to see a bag again, pop over and check it out.
