Description
Made by Fererra Pan (maker of Lemonheads) these were like large green jelly beans flavored like watermelon. They were 25 cents a box and oh so good!!!

I believe they still make Mr. Melons, but that they renamed Melon Heads, i don't know for sure though.

OK so my cousin and I used to go to our grandparents' corner store on visits and there were 7 candies we had to buy:alexander the grape,cherry clans,boston baked beans,jawbreakers,lemon heads, fun dip and MR MELON...nuff said!! lol

They were one of my favorites at the candy shoppe when I was a kid. I've searched all over the internet and I believe they are no more. But JellyBelly makes a watermelon jelly bean that tastes identical! A little smaller though...

eric above your comment i previously posted a link to discontinued candies they are gone forever:( but like you said and i 100% agree watermelon jelly bellies are identical lol no wonder i loved them at first bite.

Mr. Melons were renamed Melon Heads and then discontinued. Lemonheads were the only ones to survive

Was at goodwill the other day and guess what? Little boxes on their candy stand of lemonhead, cherryhead, apple head, and grape heads along with Boston baked beans and a few others all for 25 cents a box. No mr melons though:(

I just ate a 30year old box of Mr.Mellon and they were still good. Nuff said.

they are back ... however they are not green they are pink this time around which is weird. I havent tried them i just found this link online so it looks like they are also redoing quite a bit of these candys as well https://www.oldtimecandy.com/mr-melon-unit wonder if they will taste the same and why they are not green..im guessing maybe it was the dye and thats why they left us so fast in the 80s.. idk
