Description
Powdered chicken soup mix that came with a "golden nugget" (i.e. buillon cube) for flavoring. Had tons of noodles and little flecks of dried parsley. SUPER salty! I always craved it when I was recovering from stomach flu as a kid. The commercial had a kid coming home to eat Mrs. Grass Soup for lunch over the jingle, "When Johnny comes marching home for lunch, it's Mrs. Grass's soup!"

Oh my gosh -- I cannot believe someone else remembered Mrs. Grass's Soup! I was fascinated by the little yellow egg-shaped bullion thing. This was my favorite food - hands down - when I was about 4 or 5. To this day, I still look for it when I'm grocery shopping, hoping that JUST MAYBE some store will carry it.

TarHeelErin, look again - I see it all over the supermarkets here in Michigan ... just in regular grocery stores, too. Look around the powdered/boxed soup section - it's usually high on the top shelf, out of range of normal sight

I, too, was fascinated by the little yellow egg. So fascinated, in fact, that I once bit the egg and the saltiest, yellow, viscous fluid squirted into my mouth and I thought I would surely die from some sort of salt poisoning. Never did that again.

Everyone seems so amazed about Mrs Grass soup. You can buy it at Shop Rite anytime !!! Made by Wyler's and it still has the golden nugget 3-8-09

Available in WI from most grocery stores. They have several varieties, including the regular Noodle Soup, Extra Noodle, and some veggie one. I have 5 boxes in my pantry now. Totally yummy!

It must be a regional thing because I cannot find it in the south.

I'm in SOuth Florida and I've been able to get it at Publix and Albertson's. I know Jewel and Dominick's also carry it in the north. Fun tip -- if you don't put in the golden nugget, it's virtually fat free and still tastes great. I discovered that when going through gall bladder issues. I still do it now even though I don't need to.
