Description
Came 2 pouches to a box. My favorite flavor was the mac & cheese. Put the mix in a mug, add hot water and a pat of butter and you're good to go. Scrumptious.

I LOVED this stuff! I truly enjoyed the spaghetti sauce and macaroni; ate tons if it and the macaroni and cheese when I was a starving college student in the late '70s. I wish I could buy it today. It's truly a taste of the past that I miss.
As a child this was the ONLY thing I would eat. I LOVED the spaghetti mac. I wish they would bring it back.
I was just reminded of these lunch time treats. I couldn't decide between the beef noodle or the spaghetti as my favorite.

The mac n cheese was my favorite. It was one of the first meals my mom would let me make on my own. Easy mac is good, but Mug O lunch was the best.

Reminds me of summer vacation in the 80's when us kids had to make our own lunches. Would love to see them come back !!
I always loved how the macaroni on the very top of the mug stayed crunchy if the water didn't completely cover it. I think I still have a 10 cent coupon for it somewhere!
I really liked the beef noodle. Pure MSG, it was. Ate this every day while I watched Sanford & Son after school. meli2sa is right about the crunchy, that was great. The macaroni and cheese had a distinct taste, like no other mac & cheese out today.
Oh yes....the mac & cheese was my favorite. I SOOOOO miss this!
I am so glad I found this website about my favorite childhood food. The Mac and Cheese was the BEST. My sister always had the Beef Noodle. I wish Betty Crocker would bring this back again. It would be a wish for my 40th birthday(2/18/09). Please Betty, enlighten us children of the 70's/80's!!!!!!!

I LOVED THIS STUFF! I loved the crunchy mac noodles too. I was so surprised to see others liked that too. I forgot about the other flavors until I read this. Oh, how I miss these!!! Some times progress is not best.
The Mac and Cheese was the best!! I would love to see this one the store shelves, again.
While I was in the Navy - my parents sent me this 'treat' which was wonderful on midnight watches. I wish they would bring it back.

Toooo much! Was preparing Annies mac and cheese micro style-2-pouch and had visions of mug-o-lunch at 12,000 in the southern Sierra. Ahhhhhh........
They were all good, but Beef Noodle was my absolute favorite. I have a craving for it right now, thats how I wound up on this page. I wish Betty Crocker would see these posts and bring back an American Icon.

Wow I'm not the only one hooked on this stuff. I don't know why they stopped making it but they should really bring it back. There was nothing like it. It's so good to just see the box!!!
Maybe we should all petition Betty Crocker to bring it back.
Mug O Lunch mac 'n' cheese was SO creamy and delicious. It was much better than anything out there then...and even today! I'm not sure, though, if it was the downfall toward my gaining weight through my adolescent years.
The Spaghetti was THE BEST! I had it EVERY DAY when I got home from school. My Mom used to buy it but the box for me - I never got tired of it! BRING IT BACK BETTY C!!

Does anyone have the ingredients? It shouldn't be that hard to put together- I want to start experimenting with different recipes for it

Ingredients? any thoughts? obviously: spaghetti Noodles elbow mac please feel free to add what you remember- If I can perfect it, I will share it. A problem to solve is to shorten the cooking time of the noodles- they may have to be parboiled and dried?
If somebody wants to duplicate the taste of the beef noodle get a box of beef noodle hamburger helper and use morningstar farms imitation hamburger crumbles instead of beef. Tastes identical.
I miss Mug O Lunch so much. I can still remember the way they taste. Please Betty Crocker bring them back!
