I believe these were called Mallow Puffs and were packaged in a box similar to Mallomars, only it was blue instead of yellow

You guys are not the only ones who miss these cookies. There are many of us out there. I loved these cookies. There's a company that make similar ones. They only have one cookie and a marshmellow top but they have toasted coconut on top. A bit of a variation but I like them as well. Mrs. Allisons Toasted Coconut Puffs. There are other variations from this company though the are not exactly the nabisco marshmellow sandwiches. But when I can find them (they're hard to come by, though they're still being made) I do enjoy them. Good luck and lets start a campaign started to bring them back.

I have also looked for Nabisco Marshmallow Sandwiches but they're no longer made. Nabisco probably wants a VERY large order to make them, but I think they would sell out quickly. They were the best...simple and good.

My parents moved from NY to Boston in the 1960s. Everytime we went to visit relatives in NY, we would always go to a grocery store and empty the shelves of the Marshmallow Sandwiches! Those cookes would have rivaled Oreos if Nabisco only sold them nation-wide! Does anyone know of a good clone recipe?

I spoke at length with a Nabisco representative and it is highly unlikely to come back factories have to be retooled etc...But what if we could come up with a formula and bring them to market. I grew up in Paterson NJ and those cookies in the 70s and early 80s were so so good.

I am from Flatbush Brooklyn and routinely went to the Key Food near Flatbush ave and Clarendon Road. Never once opened a box without the intention to eat every one of them. One day I made the mistake of tossing a box with one cookie left. From that point on I ran my finger along the wax paper to check. My last memory was the worst when I went down the aisle to blue box that were no longer there. If I had known production had stopped I would have spent everything I had on a stockpile. I question the retooling argument as why Nabisco won't go back into production... Perhaps the chemicals and processes back then might lead to major litigation today. I'd still eat a few. Wonder if some small business could go into limited production under license from Nabisco?

I used to buy the Nabisco marshmallow cookies that came in a blue box. 2 cartons in a box in a vanilla cookie. I would eat the whole box in a few days. My ex boyfriend was fond of those cookies also and for a long time I tried to find them. It always seems that good things don't last. Miss that blue box and those vanilla marshmallow cookies.

I am orginally from Brooklyn, New York. I am now a resident of Okland, CA. I have been searching high and low for these delicious cookies. As a child and young man, I would delight in purchasing a pack or two on a regular basis. Shame on you, Nabisco for discontinuing these well liked and very desired cookies. I am so happy to see that I am not alone in wanting the cookies back. Let's hope that our voices produces results.

PUFFS! I loved them.. still love them and would possibly love them even more now! I know Nabisco still makes Pinwheels, but they just are not the same, I think they are dark chocolate and less marshmellow. I guess the pinwheels were more successful so they ditched the good ones. I'm currently working on Ruby Red Squirt too.

My brothers and sister grew up in long island in the 60's. We all loved these cookies. Couldn't wait for mom to come back from the grocery store so we could dive into them. 2 cardboard boxes with wax paper inside. Wrapped in blue shiney like paper. Don't remember any jelly but the soft marshmallow left some kind of film on the cookie. Delicious!!! We would have them gone before mom put the rest of the groceries away. We still to this day talk about them. When we moved to NJ we would visit other family in ny and would always make sure we picked up a few boxes. Very disappointed when we couldn't find them anymore.YOU HAVE GOT TO BRING THEM BACK!!! Even for a short while for nostalgic reasons. WHEN THIS GENERATION DIES, NO ONE ELSE WILL EVER KNOW WHAT THESE WERE OR HOW GREAT THEY TASTED. You would be foolish not to bring them back. Easy money in your pocket.

Brooklyn Kid - September 11, 2012 - Report this comment
I echo what others say above. I wrote to Nabisco - got the same story - that is, after they denied they ever made them! They make some abomination today called "Nilla Cakesters". When I first saw these in stores, I thought Marshmallow Sandwich was back - DO NOT BE FOOLED - "Nilla Cakesters" are awful - NOTHING like "Marshmallow Sandwich". You know the secret - the consistency and taste of the cookie, the marshmallow, and the most important - the apricot "glue" - amazing! Is this not the single most FRUSTRATING thing? - that Nabisco refuses to bring these back? It CANNOT be - I repeat CANNOT be due to lack of interest. If I new how to run a cookie business, I would make these cookies again and become independently wealthy on the sales in a matter of months. You all know - THEY WERE THAT GOOD!
Brooklyn Kid 2 - September 11, 2012 - Report this comment
I have a crackpot theory, actually. The cookies had to be taken off the market due to some weird way they affected people. Hey - look at as all - we're clearly addicted! The remnant cookies are probably all buried out west by Area 51. WHAT OTHER REASON CAN THERE BE? It is NOT due to lack of consumers wanting them - I GUARANTEE THAT! Hey, they did the same with the Chevy EV1 - destroyed all of them. Who knows why.

Does anyone know what cookie Nabisco used for these treats? i tried to recreate recently using two Nilla Wafers with a slice of a marshmallow inside, but the cookie was too hard. i remember it being soft
Dawn - November 02, 2014 - Report this comment
I think the apricot "glue" was there but easy to miss. Also I think it would work to recreate them using nia wafers but they have since changed the taste of a wafers (sad) and the marshmallow center was not. Dry sweet so that would need to be made rather than simply using a marshmallow. Then once you assemble it you would need to seal it in wax paper then in a cardboard box long enough for the moisture from the marshmallow to soften the cookie. Maybe a few weeks? I think it's do able !!

In the 50's my grandparents always had a chocolate covered marshmallow cookies in the house for me. The cookie had a cherry jelled layer over or under the marshmallow, maybe in the center of the marshmallow. What a special treat. I loved it when my grandpa would pick me up on a Friday after school and we would ride in his truck all around St. Paul to pick up car engine parts for his auto repair garage. I felt so special riding next to him on the bench seat. We would sing "School Days"and "I'm in Love With The Man In The Moon". How I loved those rides. After dinner - I ate those lovely cookies.

I could not believe what i was looking at!!I bought of course every box and made that guy behind the counter check all the inventory he had in that joint for more..I was so happy that today 26 years later I still remember how happy those cookies made me..And yes there was some kind of orange looking syrup/glue that held them together..GOD they were so good...Why cant good things last forever? I loved these marshmallow sandwich cookies so much! I was not a kid who liked sweets in general but these were the exception, I could eat a whole box at a time. After they were discontinued you could occasionally find them on a shelf at a second tier grocery store but that stopped too. I wish Nabisco would at least do a focus group on them to gage the interest in bringing them back because I'd buy a gross just to keep on hand for my grandchildren.

Unreal. For some reason a couple of days ago I started to think of these. I could not remember the name. Just did a google search and bingo. Born in Brooklyn in mid 1950's. These are my all time favorite. Like many have said would love to have them again.

One of the best cookies I ever ate. I searched all over in every store I would go in for years. I wish I could find them on the shelves in the stores again.

Those Marshmallow Sandwich cookies weren`t necessarily from the 80s ONLY, because I was eating them in the 50s while in grade school in Newark,NJ. No doubt,I would buy them again today if they were offered.

Pleased to see I am not alone asking for these cookies. My daughter and I were enjoying a cup of tea and some cookies. I was sharing a memory of the Marshmallow Cookies wishing I had some. Nabisco do us a favor and grant our wishes for our favorite cookies from our youth. Do some kind of special for a limited time if necessary but please bring them back! .

I ate nabisco marshmallow sandwich cookies as a child and as an adult in Folkston,GA. My entire family loved them! I’v been looking for them and telling my wife how delicious they were. After searching everywhere for them, I finally went on line and found that they are no longer made😢. Please bring them back.

I miss these marshmallow cookies. Used to eat them through my childhood, teenage years, and early adulthood in NYC. My children were eating them right before they were discontinued. It would be great if they were brought back. We would by them in bulk. Those and the chocolate cookies in the box. Oh my goodness to have a bit of nostalgia back.

A company in the Buffalo area made the cookies-until the last 10-15 years. I've been looking for them as well. A soft graham sandwich type ( with coconut ) with marshmallow and a strip of raspberry,They were called "Santa's cookies' OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.I'LL BUY A CASE MYSELF
