Another product I begged my dad to buy because I liked the commercial. I think he finally gave in once, and I wound up not liking the thick cut of the chip. Had to finally finish them, though, learned my lesson.

Sour Cream and onion O'Boisies. Yum. I miss Tater Skins too.
Patrick from MA - March 13, 2008 - Report this comment
Ok, count me as the lonely one but I HATED them. They were not thick as much as they were bubbly. I thought they always tasted stale. I still remember the lame-ass ad, with the goofball dancing in the stairwell with his acid-wash jeans, sport-coat and his bag of O'Boisies. It was one of the first times I realized that commercials can be stupid. I was like, "it's a bag of chips, what the hell is he dancing for?!?" For what it is worth though, they still make Tater Skins, you can get them in most any Midwestern US grocery store.

Loved Them !!! I was at work the other night and just out of the blue I got a craving for them. And now the craving just won't go away so if any one has a hook up at keebler, could you tell them to bring those chips back. Hey we should all leave a message on the keebler website, if they have one. Or call their comment/customer satisfaction line.
faith - September 11, 2008 - Report this comment

I went to a store called Aldi in NJ before the holidays and they had a knock off brand of Oboisies called Tader-Skins. They taste very much like I remember the Keebler ones tasted. Similar sized bag too. Find an Aldi and try them let me know if I'm remembering them correctly.
FoxyFishy - February 04, 2009 - Report this comment
Next to Tater Skins and Wachusett Potato Chips (which they still make) these were SO good! Johnny C - Tater Skins were different, but still really good.

And then the blues guy singing the song went "OBOISES are so BOISTEROUS." at the end. they looked like munchos. were they like munchos?

Poore Brothers bought up the factory in Indiana used to make O'Boises and Tato Skins. Keebler could probably bring them back since Poore Bros. does not like to/want to make them, but they seemed to leave the salty snack market. Towards the end I bought them direct from Bluffton Foods in Indiana. I miss them a lot.
ScottB - April 12, 2009 - Report this comment
Sour Cream and Onion O'Boises were the best chips ever made, but you can't get them anymore. The closest thing I've found are the Pringles Select in the bag. They have that same bubbly crunch. Try the parmesan garlic.
bjs - April 13, 2009 - Report this comment
I miss O'Boises soooo much- my diet in the 90's consisted of O'Boises, Taco Bell bean burritoes and milk. Does Bluffton foods still have chips?

Warren - May 09, 2009 - Report this comment
They are BACK!! Off Idahostatesman.com Inventure (Poore Brothers) has had many requests from people to bring O'Boisies back. The secret to their crunchy popularity is the tiny bubbles that give the chip its consistency. Original flavors were plain, BBQ and sour cream and onion. Now you can try salt and pepper, cheddar jalapeno, cheddar sour cream and original.
John - May 29, 2009 - Report this comment
I just purchased some a few days ago! Of all places in the world, I found them at a Roses Discount Store in Blue Ridge, GA. They are simply the best chips ever. Haven't had them since I was a child. I got regular and salt and pepper. Almost finished both bags already. The bags say: "Back by popular demand!" Btw, for the people asking about Tato Skins- I've had TGIF tater skins and as far as I can tell they taste just like the old Tato Skins. They're great, too. They're in our vending machine at work.

I hope they'll be coming to supermarkets in Michigan. I remember eating the sour cream and onion O'Boisies at parties when I was a kid. I've missed that yummy crunchy bubbly texture so much, until I discovered Pringles Select, which are great in their own right, and similar, but not quite the same. The sour cream and onion O'Boisies were my favorite.

I found them in Sacramento at a Dollar Tree! I grabbed three bags! I actually sent a few emails to keebler trying to bring these back a few years ago, so I'm glad this company took them over. I found them in my school vending machine and they are not at all the delicious chips i remember. Im pretty sure the old ones were fried, which is why they were full of air bubbles and melted in your mouth. I figure that they evaluated the trans fat content and replaced it with some baked piece of crap. Im so disappointed.

I jus came from the store purchasing the Salt & Pepper Flavor. These chips are outstanding!!! I also love the original ones, they have an awesome Garlic taste! I live in Maryland and they are also at the Dollar Tree here! Good Luck on finding them in your state.

I just found O'Boisies at the Doller Store and bought two bags because I was so excited. Unfortunately I tried them and they taste completely different! Although they were super salty as always now they have onion/garlic taste that kills the goodness! I want my old O'boisies back!

Seems like no one can find these chips now adays, but im eating them at this exact moment. The Dollar Tree here in Santa Cruz California has been selling them for weeks now. They are amazing!
Amanda - November 03, 2009 - Report this comment
Wow- I was SUPER excited when I found these are the Dollar Tree today. I just happened to see them when I was checking out. I thought for sure that these could not be the same chips from back when I was a kid, but they are! They tast a little different, the old kind used to be more bubbley and light. The new ones have the bubbles but they are more like a tater skin, pringle, O Boise's hybrid. Didnt stop me from eating the bag. I'll be back for more... hooray for O Boises!
