Description
The commercials said it was Nestle Quik with more vitamins and minerals. I say it was dirt in a jar.

Dirt in a jar? I think I might have to agree! The syrup was better than the powder but still doesn't compare to other brands. Give me the sugar and calories, cut out all the stuff good for me and let me have CHOCOLATE!

My aunt always made me drink this junk when I visited her. She was convinced that kids should love it. She's a cold, heartless woman...

LOL at Trogg!! But seriously even though it's more healthy (not that there's anything wrong with that as long as it tastes good) it actually was one of my favorite drinks when I was a kid. It tasted like chocolate milk when mixed right so no complaints came from me. I've even bought it as an adult.

I used to drink this all the time, and even put it on vanilla ice cream. My friend and I would laugh so hard that it would come out of our nose! Yeehaw!

Was really grainy but i loved it. I liked to eat it straight. We used to keep the glass jar for other uses in the kitchen.

This isn't an 80s drink. This stuff goes WAY back. Think WWII.

When my dad was a kid in the 1940s, they used to advertise Little Orphan Annie decoder rings (yes, exactly like in the movie "A Christmas Story"). He wanted one so he begged my grandma to buy him some Ovaltine. She did. Well, he hated the stuff and wanted to throw it away but she wouldn't let him. He got his ring but learned his lesson!

My kids were runts so they drank Ovaltine rather than other powdered chocolate drinks, to get more vitamins in. They loved it as chocolate milk or hot chocolate. Not that I really had to worry about vitamins because they have always loved veggies, even broccoli and brussel sprouts. Still, they liked it as well as Nestle.

Came out in 1904 (1904!) and is still around today. Was definitely popular in the 80's

Why do they call it Ovaltine? The jar is round, the mug is round, they should call Roundtine. That's gold! Gold!
