To whom it may concern: I enjoy eating Peanut Butter Boppers in the 80's, but why did they discontinue the product? Please bring them back into the 21st century because I missed eating them so much.
mark - August 30, 2007 - Report this comment
Yes, bring them back. Does anyone know why they discontinued them???
Tracy - September 10, 2007 - Report this comment

Lynn - October 30, 2007 - Report this comment
I remember Peanut Butter Boppers (they were always on the top shelf at the grocery store). And from what I can remember, they were somewhat pricey and not around very long. I LOVED THEM!
heather - December 10, 2007 - Report this comment
My mom would pack Peanut Butter Boppers in my lunch everyday and that was always one of the highlights of my day. I'm so sad that they got discontinued. Yes Kai, The Lost Boys was evidence that I was not just a crazykindergartner who made up this deliscious treat they actually did exist. Whoever typed the above description was wrong because it was a log of peanut butter dipped in chocolate then dipped in peanuts!! YUM!!!!
Patty - December 31, 2007 - Report this comment
I am 32 years old, and would love to pack peanut butter boppers in my daughter's lunch!! I am going to go rent The Lost Boys, just to see that part! I remember begging my mom to buy them for me when I was a kid!
anna - February 27, 2008 - Report this comment
Omg! I was just discussing this product with co-workers, which NO ONE seems to remember! It was the best peanut butter treat ever invented and it was every other commercial on TV! I want them back too!!! I too am 32, so it must have been our time, Patty:)

Peanut Butter Boppers were one of the best snacks growing up! I am 30 years old and remember them fondly. I didn't have them all the time, but when I did they were extra special. I remember them being on the top of the shelf at the grocery store too!
Meg - March 13, 2008 - Report this comment
Yes! There is a scene in the Lost Boys where you see the box of them!
erik - March 21, 2008 - Report this comment
who made them?
Meg - March 25, 2008 - Report this comment
I'm not sure who made them, but I totally remember that yes they were on the top self at the store because I could never reach them, my mom would get them only as a treat everyonce and awile. I don't see why they would stop making them, I bet they would see really well these days!
bopper lover - April 13, 2008 - Report this comment
Nature Valley made them. If you surf around You Tube one of the TV comercials is on there.

I've been searching for Peanut Butter Boppers for two decades! We used to sell them at my junior high's student store. How do we get an online petition going to the manufacturer to bring them back?!?
Jes - July 02, 2008 - Report this comment
I will sooo sign that petition! they were the best.
Brooke - July 03, 2008 - Report this comment

BRING BACK BOPPERS!!! Generation X needs a peanut butter bopper fix!
Daler the Whaler - March 09, 2009 - Report this comment
I sent an email to Nature Valley inquiring about PBB. Their half-ass response: "PBB were discontinued due to a lack of sales and interest in the product. There are no plans to revive this item." What kind of answer is that? These guys have the same mentality of the execs that brought down the banking system. No wonder we're all pissed. They WERE the best!!! Should have been sold in the candy isle and the snack isle. Beats Reese's flat. Oh I get MAD dammit!
MrTroy - March 09, 2009 - Report this comment
No offense "Daler the Whaler", but what are they supposed to say? Usually you get something even MORE generic like "Thank you for your interest, this item has been discontinued with no plans of bringing it back".
Gwen - March 11, 2009 - Report this comment
I loved these. I want one right now!

My wife and friends think i am crazy becasue they dont remember the awsome PB Boppers. I wish there was a way to bring these back or at least release the recipt so we can make them ourselves.

I loved peanut butter boppers....we should all call Nature Valley on the same day and just inundate them with requests to bring back PBBs!!!! Maybe they'd get so annoyed they'd do it. RIP PBBs

OMG. I just can not belive with the amount of people that loved these Boppers, and Nature Valley has not brought them back. What is wrong with these people????? I am not much of a Granola person so those other bars do not do any thing for me.

I literally just had a conversation with people at work, and 90% of these posts were our conversation... the packaging, the Lost Boys reference as proof of their existence, the mouth-watering peanut butter. I am 32 as well. Nature Valley thinks they didn't have an interest back in the day. However, they hooked us as kids, and we'd still buy them, and we'd buy them for our kids. So their market has already doubled. All they need to do is sell them. I might send them this entire thread... which started 2 and a half years ago, haha!

OMG I loved those things it was like a wafer cookie tube filled with peanut butter then covered in chocolate then rolled in rice krispies.

I see that I am not the only that misses the peanut buttery goodness of Peanut Butter Boppers. If I had the choice between world peace and Peanut Butter Boppers, I would the only logical choice - Peanut Butter Boppers. When I'm eating them, I need a map - because I get lost in the peanut buttery goodness.

Holy crap, these were the best! I'm a chocolate/pb-aholoic my whole life and these were hands down the best ever! I use to go to my friend's house just to eat these! I cant believe this many people also remember. Let's get this cult following onto a petition to nature valley!

I used to take peanut butter boppers to school in my lunch box EVERY DAY. They were just amazing! I can't believe they didn't get good revenue. I remember a boy in my 3rd grade class trading me his entire baseball card collection for one bopper! LOL!

I LOVE these things too! I've been wanting one for way too long (kind of like looking for Peanut Butter Twix in stores, too). I thought General Mills (MMM, Boo Berry cereal) made them. I just got off the phone with GM and they weren't the one's who made them. Bring back the Boppers... fast!

I had forgotten what they were called but I remember eating them in the 6th grade. They were my after school snack. There was something in that peanut butter, it was SOOOOOO yummy. I remember they had crispy pieces on the outside that were kind of like Rice Krispies cereal. Anyone know when they stopped making them? I know I at them in 1986 or 1987.
Josh - October 07, 2010 - Report this comment
Yes, these were the best, most scrumptious snack ever. They started right at the nexus of 1985/1986 and only last until the end of 1987. Which is remarkable; because they were SO addicting. Please email Nature Valley and I will as well to bring these super delicious treats back.

I recently found a coupon for Peanut Butter Boppers. I tried to find them at Kroger but no luck. They were indeed made by General Mills back in the day. Too bad they aren't still around. They sure looked good.

I am 38 and I miss them as well. the commercial for peanut butter boppers says they were made by nature valley. I'd like the recipe and make them myself if they wont start making them again. They were a special memory for me. Oh well.

Anyone have an e-mail/physical address we can all write and request to bring them back?
KB - July 03, 2011 - Report this comment
Well~ even if they were to bring them back, they would not use the same recipe. They would put high fructose cor syrup to make it less expensive for the company. When I find something I had not had in years~I get disappointed because it tastes different. Then I read the ingred's and that's always the difference...

holy cow. I an 35 years old the PBB played a big part in my childhood. I sure miss them. I used to buy them in the local RED Owl stores god they were so good. I always wonder who made them. My Husband Aunt works for General Mills if that is who made them I should ask here why they took them off and that they should bring them back but only if they will make them the same. I so glad there are other people out there that remember them

This is so great that I'm not the only person who remembers these things. Everyone I tell about the PBB just gives me blank stares. I guess you have to be in your thirtys to have experienced their awsomeness. I really wish they would bring the PBB back. I used to take them to school everyday. I can still taste them....:)

Mmm..bird feeders..what a treat!Im gonna make my own.So Im thinking the pb filling is one cup reduced fat peanut butter, two cups confectioners sugar and a teaspoon of salt.Mix until it becomes like a dough..add a little more confectioners sugar if needed..roll into bars and place on wax paper..chill in the fridge for an hour. For the coating grab a mixing bowl and add a cup each of mini chocolate chips, rice krispies, dried rolled oats...even some nuts or sunflower seeds,if you want.I would add a cup of light brown sugar for good measure..mix well.To make it stick, you can either rub each bar with some honey or a little syrup..its gonna be a little messy but we want the coating to stick..if this recipe, which I never tried myself works..you can thank me later!Oh yea,one more thing..store in the fridge in a closed container when youre done.

Oh god, I'm so excited that with the help of this website I finally "found" my long lost love! I LOVED these when I was a kid, sometime around 2nd grade I think, I'm 33 now. I have a story that I had one during a field trip, the peanut crunch one, and I was eating it and all of a sudden *CRUNCH*crunch... "why is there such a hard peanut in here?" ehhh, that's not a peanut, that's one of my teeth *sigh* My bf is 35 and doesn't remember these having existed at all, poor guy!

This is so funny. I loved this treat as a child and googled "peanut butter treat in lost boys", and this message board popped up. Nature Valley is insane if they think a comeback would be unprofitable. I know I for one would clear out the shelf!! And from all the other comments, I think ya'll would say the same!

Came out in 1986. Available in fudge chip, honey crisp, peanut crunch, fudge graham, and cookie crunch. In addition, you were encouraged to call the bop line to tell Nature Valley about their product. The number was 1-800-543-4604
