I loved fricken clear pepsi. the taste was SOOO much different than real pepsi. The funnest memory of this is when SNL did a spin off of clear pepsi and it was CLEAR GRAVY and they were pouring it on themselves while running with Van Halen's "right now" playing in the background! gotta love it. My mom wouldn't let me drink it because she "swore up and down" that it was full of horrible nasty chemicals. Come to find out, it was the same as regular Pepsi, only without the caramel coloring added. Oh, and Jane-- I remember the SNL skit! That was great!

I remember all of these creepy urban legends about that stuff... like how it was going to kill us all with all the bleach they put in to make it clear. I'm pretty sure it probably died out due to that kind of bad press. I personally loved it and I'm said it didn't take off as a major variety of Pepsi.

This wasn't '80s. This was 1993, y'all. The '90s were so bland, which is why somebody at Pepsi thought they needed to take the color out to make a hip product.

Philistine is correct. It was brought out in 1993 but shortly discontinued because almost everyone thought it was fruit flavored. All it was was Pepsi without the "caramel color"added. Then after that was a failure,in 1994,they brought out Crystal, which actually was citrus flavored.That was out for an even shorter time. I have an empty can in my room.

I remember Pepsi Clear. It was NOT a big hit.

I actually loved Pepsi Clear, and I'm a Coke drinker... I do believe it was out in the 90s, though, and not many of my friends/family liked it much-- seemed like I was the only one who really liked it. But I would love to have just one more, nowadays.
