I loved fricken clear pepsi. the taste was SOOO much different than real pepsi. The funnest memory of this is when SNL did a spin off of clear pepsi and it was CLEAR GRAVY and they were pouring it on themselves while running with Van Halen's "right now" playing in the background! gotta love it. My mom wouldn't let me drink it because she "swore up and down" that it was full of horrible nasty chemicals. Come to find out, it was the same as regular Pepsi, only without the caramel coloring added. Oh, and Jane-- I remember the SNL skit! That was great!

I remember all of these creepy urban legends about that stuff... like how it was going to kill us all with all the bleach they put in to make it clear. I'm pretty sure it probably died out due to that kind of bad press. I personally loved it and I'm said it didn't take off as a major variety of Pepsi.

This wasn't '80s. This was 1993, y'all. The '90s were so bland, which is why somebody at Pepsi thought they needed to take the color out to make a hip product.

Philistine is correct. It was brought out in 1993 but shortly discontinued because almost everyone thought it was fruit flavored. All it was was Pepsi without the "caramel color"added. Then after that was a failure,in 1994,they brought out Crystal, which actually was citrus flavored.That was out for an even shorter time. I have an empty can in my room.

I actually loved Pepsi Clear, and I'm a Coke drinker... I do believe it was out in the 90s, though, and not many of my friends/family liked it much-- seemed like I was the only one who really liked it. But I would love to have just one more, nowadays.

Hey I was hooked on this stuff in the late 1992 and early 1993. I could have sworn it was called Pepsi Clear. Never heard of the Crystal part. Maybe that had to do with the area's they where marketing in. I heard rumors that it they found the something similar to the same ingredient that got coca cola classic pulled. some type of drug hard to remember the name something to do with cocaine I think. It seems like Pepsi has totally wiped Pepsi Clear From the face of the earth any comments?

I got to try Pepsi Clear and man I have to say I loved it. It's a shame they took it off the market!

i loved clear pepsi i wish pepsi would try it again with all the people who are more aware of how bad the coloring additives they should bring it back as a limited time offer and see if the sales are more sustainable now i LOVED IT and i was only 12 and i still remember the taste loved it

My dad worked for Pepsi, I remember Pepsi Clear during mid 80s in middle school. They must've tried to bring it back under name Crystal, I don't remember it so may not have been bottled where he worked.

I also remember Pepsi Clear from the 80's. I don't know why it's like there is no record or evidence of Pepsi Clear ever having been made. All you can find is info on the 90's Crystal Pepsi. The Pepsi Clear tasted exactly like regular pepsi. It was just missing the caramel color. I really wish they would bring it back.
