I used to love the chocolate ones, we used to buy them alot when I lived in maine, not sure if it was just a Maine product or not.

OMG I LOVED these things! The only thing that even comes close to the vanilla flavored ones is Hood Vanilla Egg Nog around the holidays, but it's a bit thicker than the Shake Ups were. I wish they would bring these back!

Oh yeah!!! Shake Ups rocked. My brothers and I used to drink them too. We found them in NH and ME too. I have not seem them anywhere since the '90s. Too bad, because if you drink just one you don't need to eat the next two meals...LOL. So full of energy.

Grew up in NH, loved these as a kid! I imagine they'd be too sweet for me now... sure wish I knew what company made them, but I've only ever found two pages commenting on them (including this one).

I remember these too in MA in the early 80s. Who made them, was it Hood?

Hood made these... here's a link to one of their classic (but cheesy) commercials: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9A4Bdjrbh4

OMG I used to love these growing up in CT! I wish I knew if they were still making these! I would buy gallons of them in a heartbeat if I knew it was still around :(

I loved these so much. The closest thing I found to the original formula is the Hershey's Creamy Chococlate Milk Shake...

Shake-Ups were like a Great Shakes of the eighties, only in cartons instead of powder mix. The Hood Dairy Company (Boston area) sold this. The company goes back to the 1840s, but the website only provided scant history details. A 1982 TV commercial is on YouTube.

Recently tried Contoocook Creamery's chocolate milk and it reminded me of Shake-Ups. My search for them brought me here.
