I really love the Tobascco flavored one. So bad for you, but sooo good.

Mom used to take 4 kids (and she was pregnant) to the little shop (probably a 15 minute walk - felt like a serious journey then) just so she could get one. Well, we all got one.. Fond memories. I STILL love them. Especially the Monster ones the started making. I also love the Tabasco flavored one, but the original will always be first in my heart.

Believe it or not; By the 80s, Slim Jims came in six flavors (Mild, Spicy, Pizza, Bacon, Salami, and Pepperoni) and many were discontinued by the early 90s. I always liked the Nacho Cheese flavor as a kid, but i think that was a 90s flavor.

When I was 10 years old I ate the Pizza flavored Slim Jims, and every time I took a bite, I could feel something slimy oozing out of the beef stick. It always made me sick to my stomach.

It's TABASCO, not TOBASCCO.

Slim Jims go back to 1929, Philadelphia. These didn't gain national prominence until 40 years later, under General Mills. Good Mark Foods acquired Slim Jims in 1982, shortly before the lengthy cross-sponsorship with Vince McMahon's WWF and Randy "Macho Man: (Poffo) Savage as spokesman. While, in wrestling's pre-fab world, Savage was "Snapping" Slim Jims, his brother, Lanny Poffo, skirted the ring in a gown as "The Genius," uttering poems, but not winning many matches.
