Description
They came in a bag and were little bite size taffy's that were shaped like slim jims. They came in a bag and in a bunch of flavors like grape, sour apple, banana etc. I think it was the late 70's or early 80's. They were so good and I think they came out around Halloween.

Thank God somebody else remembers this!! I knew that was the correct name of those things, and people keep telling me thats the beef jerky stuff. There was also a vanilla one that was my fav!

Yeah--my favorite were the banana type. I don't think we are ever going to get these unless we find a box from 20 year ago in some warehouse!

I've been looking too. Everyone thought I was crazy...no, I said, not jerky, taffy. I loved the green apple best. The only time I ever got these was in my trick or treat bag. I don't remember ever seeing them in the store. Laffy Taffy, Airheads, Tootsie, Starburst, none of it is the same as the Slim Jims.

I too remember these taffy type candies. Only saw them during Halloween but looked forward to them every year. Cherry, lemon, chocolate, grape, orange, vanilla, green apple, and licorice were among the flavors. They were great and I really would love to find them or at least what happened to them.

Yup! I remember them. Been hinting for them for a long time. It's hard to even find data on this candy (honestly, I haven't found any except this page). I finally wised up one year and bought two bags of them when I found them. But that was when I was in middle or high school and that was a long time ago... late 80s. After I bought them that one year, I never saw them again.

My dad used to buy these - and he died in '76 so it had to be in the 70's. I loved these, too. Vanilla was my favorite. He would buy a bag for Halloween and before Halloween got here, I had already eaten them!

I have been searching for these for years!! I loved the grape, and like everyone else on this page, we always had them around on Halloween. It is such a shame these are no longer produced :(

Wasn't there a tall thin man with a cane and a top hat on the wrapper? I loved these too. Vanilla was the best!

Yes, it's sad that it's no longer around -- I adored the licorice flavored one best as a child. Closest thing to that is the Black Jack taffy (also seen only around Halloween). I also love the vanilla & chocolate, too. At least there's still good ol' Bonomo Turkish Taffy! :)

OMG!! I am SO glad to see you all here looking for this candy! My birthday is Halloween and every year without fail I got loads of Slim Jims candy - and yes Rob, there was a tall slim guy on the wrapper. I so miss that candy. Why doesn't anybody know what happened to them and why?? You all made my day!!
