Description
All non-chain burger stores in Scandinavia introduced the Space Burger in the early 80's. Consisted of a circular slice of pineapple on top of a well-stuffed and mayo-dressing-soaked quarterpounder. Tasted pretty weird, but as kids we loved that. This was HUGE over here

I remember as a child, visiting a drive-in in North Seattle, on Old Hwy 99, that served Space Burgers. It was a sealed disk with a meat pasty type filling that was WONDERFUL! I can almost still taste that burger and have often wondered about finding the recipe or how it was made. I didn't realize there was a specific machine - but I guess that makes sense because of the way it was sealed.

Louie - Check the Lioness Club in Moses Lake, Washington - they have the machines and make the burgers for fundraisers.

You can actually buy the machines online from a place in Arizona for about $800.00 there's also a handheld version that makes the same thing. You just have to hold it over the flame. I bought one from a place called Goodman's in Florida. Go to their site and look for sandwich press. You'll see it there. $6.00!

Did anyone ever find out where I can buy a space burger machine - somewhere in AZ? I would love to purchase one and replicate this wonderful Spaceburger from my softball days in California, as they were sold in the snack bar at the Little League field.

as a retired 70yr. old, I would really like to purchase an old 60`s machine. My idea is to supplement my SS during summer mos. at a local dock.
