Description
Sundance was a non-alcoholic beverage that I haven't seen since 1989 or shortly afterward. It was packaged in glass bottles. After searching to purchase some online, I found an article that said it was manufactured by Stroh Brewery Company in the '80's, but now by another company.

I remember this so well!! I can remember drinking this and pretending it was a wine cooler trying to be so cool. But this stuff and portable telephones do not mix very well at all. Was on the phone one night with my best friend, and was laughing and spit the stuff into the phone. My parents were so mad!! Great memories!!

Alas fellow fans of the Tasty Sundance, there will NEVER be any more. Nor will you ever be able to find some last existing case in the back of some forgotten corner of a store. Sundance is no more!! I started doing some research and found out that Sundance was the attempt of Stroh Brewery Company at making a non-alcoholic beverage. It was met with, as THEY thought, with very little success, so they stopped making the product. Then a few years latter, they went belly up and now the company is no more...too bad.

Yeah I remember the tasty "Sundance's" as well. Too bad they are gone, for i was one who searched high and low for them too! But guess what?! Although they have gone the way of the "Dodo", I bumped into some drinks of that very same genre by accident! If you remember and loved the taste of Sundance, head out to your favorite health food store or local market {anyone have a "Whole Foods Market" nearby?!}. Look in the beverage aisle and look for a bottled 12oz. soft drink called "Izze". It's all natural made from fruit juice and sparkling spring water {lightly carbonated}. No added sugar, no corn syryp, no color additives, no preservatives! Comes in many fruit flavors. Also look for {my fav} "The Switch" soft drinks. Made just like the "Izze", but i like them even betta! Use to come in 12oz bottles but I can only find them in 8.3oz cans now. Both are great! Enjoy!

Dad used to work for Bell of PA, at some point in the Southern Chester County offices. He used to bring these home for me from some little store in London Grove or somewhere like that. They seemed unique at the time because they were not quite as sweet. So good!

I was crazy about Sundance, and so was my little boy. He thought it had the coolest name. Looked for it for years, asked many people, noone knew what I was talking about. My son past at 18 yrs of age a few years ago. He and I sitting on the porch sippin our Sundances is a vivid image in my mind.

I loved these too. Kiwi-Lime was my favorite. We would pretend they were wine coolers and make fake cigarettes and joints.

My best friend Arin and I used to spend every new years eve together when we were kids and my parents would get us Sundance so we could pretend to have champagne. We are still best friends 25 years later and would love to get our hands on more Sundance!

I was just talking about these drinks with my mom the other day. I LOVED the kiwi-lime! I remember drinking one in my dorm and the RA thought I had snuck in a wine cooler.

In this particular episode it show the green, pink & yellow varieties in the backgound. The pink was my favorite back then I remember!!

Raspberry was the best flavor! I wish it was still around. Clearly Canadian wasn't quite as good and Izzie drinks just aren't the same but not bad.

Yep, we played Trivial Pursuit and sipped Sundance while the BAD EGGS were out drinking the REAL alcoholic beverages. Oh, those were the days. I also couldn't find anyone who knew what I was talking about! I need to find Izze!! Missing the Sundance forever.

Just before Sundance disappeared there was a story on the news, some guy supposedly found an eyeball in his bottle. I remember them showing the eyeball in the bottle.Crazy stuff I'm sure that didn't help them.

OMG.... I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE RASPBERRY!!!! It was sooooooo refreshing & UM UM GOOOOOOD. The Izze Blackberry flavor is the closest thing to the UNFORGETTABLE SUNDANCE

My girlfriends and I would pretend to be very adult and drink our Sundances and gorge on Butterfingers! Staples of our slumber parties. We are having a Girls' Night on Saturday, and are all sad because we can't get our hands on Black Currant Sundance! :(

I think the company should reopen. They would make a lot of money off of Sundance. I loved all of the flavors. I would love to have my daughter to experience Sundance, instead of energy drinks and sodas.

I loved these. Black currant was my fav. They did go into the 90's but soon faded. You can see them on episodes of Friends. Mainly from Monica's apartment. I have had my eye out for them but it's good to have closer and know it's just a fond memory. By the way no one I asked remembers them. Glad tp know I'm not alone.

Sundance really was fantastic and it disappeared so fast. I don't recall ever having any thoughts of it being a 'non-alcoholic' drink of any sort though. I just thought someone finally made a better soda. I'm sitting here now drinking a black raspberry "Sparkling Ice" that made me think of Sundance again, hence, I'm here. This stuff reminds me of Sundance. Izze seems a bit on the harsh side from what I remember of Sundance.

I remember the so very well. My mom, sis, and I would buy them every chance we got. Sundance was the best and no clearly canadian did not even come close.Oh how I wish some one would start to make that wonderful drink we all love and know so well. I didn't have a fav, cause they all were oh so goooooooooooooooood. I'm happy that there are others out there that remembers Sundance. My mouth is watering just from me saying SUNDANCE MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

I can't believe other folks remember these too! Many fond summer memories at the lake drinking a Sundance. Anyone remember the commercials? "Oh it's a natural time for a Sundance...with the sun up above in the sky. We didn't add a thing that's bad and you know that's good." That and the American Airlines jingles from the 80's will forever be stuck in my head. A great picture of the Orange Sparkler can be found at Loucosty Photography's web site (I submitted the link )

I was watching an episode of The Nanny. Brighten was drinking an orange Sundance. That brought back memories. I'm surprised with The Nanny and Friends drinking them in the episodes that they didn't get really popular. By the time they came out I was old enough to drink real wine coolers but I liked Sundance better. I would buy the cranberrie flavor by the case at Sams Club. I miss those drinks. Always looking for a replacement, haven't found one yet. Glad I'm not the only one who remembers them.

I remember saving my money so that I could go to the store to by a 4 pack of the Kiwi-Lime. It was my favorite. Just like everyone else I would love to see these come back. They were so refreshing and clean tasting. Too bad there is no one out there with that vision.

We'd go boating on our 28 footer... and we'd go to Sam's club and stock up on Sundance. I have tried for years to buy some and there seems to be no more. It was a boating only treatr but I'd sit there drinking a few of them lol

Oh my! I would love to have these back, my girlfriends and I would only drink these. Our fav was the black currant! I still try to find something to even come close till today. And nothing even will ever compare to those little AWesome sundance drinks. I remember I was driving and got stopped cause the cop thought it was a wine cooler :) he even laughed afterwords..

I loved Sundance! I was in high school during that time. Recently I bought season 3 of 90210 for $4 at salvation army. And Kelly is clutching one in the doorway of her beach club cabanna! I had to Google because I couldn't remember the name. The closest thing I have found is "Onli!" I get it at my Publix, here in Lakeland FL. They have bunches of flavors, ranging in calorie content. The 120/serving will be the ones closest to our beloved Sundance! But I like plenty of them! I usually have a 15 calorie "honeysuckle/pear/apple one in the fridge. Light, crisp and dry! A higher calorie fave is pomegranate huckleberry! Now that's yummy like the olden days! LOOK FOR IT!
