Description
Does anybody remember these? Rectangular snack crackers very similar to Better Cheddars, but they were flavored and shaped like slices of Swiss cheese, right down to the holes. They came in a red box, I think. They were tasty.

I loved these so much. Why did Nabisco stop making it? I could eat a whole box of these watching football on Saturday n Sunday. Man.

Yeah those were awesome. Funny thing is if you look on the back of a box of better cheddars. they still show them. Maybe they're a regional thing.

How can Nabisco continue to make Chicken in a Biscuit (disgusting...) yet take these off the market? They were unique and tasty.

I am very upset they discontinued Swiss cheese crackers, better cheddars DOES show them! why? to taunt me?? And chicken in a biskit is not THAT bad, but the line of crackers MUST made them again they were so cute too, like tiny pieces of cheese!! Bring them back.

Cheez-Its recently added a 'Baby Swiss' flavor to their line-up!! I haven't tried them yet so can't compare. I am guessing they will probably be too salty, because Cheez-its always are, but here's the link in any case: http://www2.kelloggs.com/ProductDetail.aspx?id=23851

I miss these so much. They remind me of my grandmother because she was the one who got me into them. I continued to eat them after she died and eventually I stopped seeing them in the stores. I had to buy those chicken flavored things instead.

They were good. One of those snacks that were yummy with cheese or alone. I believe they are still sold at a grocery store in my area. I haven't checked though.

La Sponge - September 05, 2014 - Report this comment
Why on earth did Nabisco discontinue Swiss Cheese,Bacon flavored crackers, Twigs or Doo-Dads but continue to make like 20 different flavors of Triscut like brown rice and sweet potato?

I have looked for the Swiss Cheese crackers for years and while I have accepted that they are no longer made, I will still look in hopes! My sister and I loved these and would giggle and laugh because we called them "fart crackers". I remember my grandma calling us silly girls because we giggled so much about them but they were delicious!

i loved these crackers! My grandma always had them for me. I seem to remember that the box had a cartoon mouse on the front.

Canadaianfavourites.com just ordered 4 boxes of Swiss Cheese crackers! They were discontinued here but still make them in Canada (I called Nabisco to find out about this.) Can't wait to see if they are as good as I remember!
La Sponge - December 16, 2014 - Report this comment
Sarah, did you receive your boxes of Swiss Cheese crackers from Canada yet? I am wondering if they're as good as the old Nabisco brand are. I also saw on their webite that they carry the old Bacon thins and wondering if they are as good as well.Im going to check out the grocery stores next time I get up to Canada! Im hoping the also carry the Nabisco Wheatsworth crackers since they have also been discontinued here. Can't have a Christmas party without cheeseballs and a Rum & Coke!

My mom used to buy these for us when i was a kid. They were so delicious. I would also eat a whole box in one sitting. Im gonna try that Canada link too!

Didja hear that Nabisco is coming out with a coconut and sea salt Triscut cracker? Really Nabisco? Please STOP making crackers with weird flavor combos and bring back Flavor Originals like Swiss Cheese and Bacon Thins. Even the Vegetable Thins are not as good as when they were shaped like veggies. Coconut flavor belongs in macaroon cookies, Malibu Rum, and of course Pina Coladas!

The Swiss Cheese and Bacon crackers are IDENTICAL to the ones that used to be sold in the US... The brand Christie is Nabisco in Canada... I've ordered from www.canadianfavourites.com many, many times! :-)

Nabisco just started delivering Swiss in a biscuit in Florida at least.
La Sponge - September 04, 2015 - Report this comment
Yes it's true..they are back! They are renamed Swiss in a Biskit and found them at Wal-Mart for $1.98 a box. They seem pretty close to the Flavor Originals Swiss Cheese thins except kinda saltier than I remember. Now if only Nabisco would bring back Bacon thins and Twigs crackers! ♧

I loved these and have been looking for years, when I too suddenly spotted them in Walmart! I was thrilled and immediately bought a box. They are good, but not quite as good as I remembered. I think they changed them a little.

Oh goodness, these bring back such memories. My childhood best friend and I LOVED them. We were about 6 or 7 and whenever she'd come for a visit I always made sure we had then and we'd go through almost a whole box of them. I see they're apparently back now, though it bugs me a little to see (if the picture on Flickr is correct) they're "artificial Swiss cheese flavor." :( Although I suppose that's what they were back in the early-mid 80s as well, so maybe I shouldn't complain? I'll keep an eye out for them next time I go food shopping.

I am currently scouring the Long Island area to see who has these in stock (Swiss in a Biskit).. I have had friends bring me down boxes of Christies Swiss Cheese from Toronto but to have them shipped is EXPENSIVE. This is a Red Letter Day! They must be available someplace, Walmart.com doesnt list them, but they list the Chicken ones.. (oof).. My Favorite cracker as a Kid has come home!

Here is a review of the crackers, they are NOT the same as the originals but they are close. They look Thinner and are not as flavorful.. Watch for yourself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcCbLub0sEk Christies in Canada seems to still be the only TRUE Swiss Cheese cracker that is produced by Nabisco.
