We used to hang out at Godfather's Pizza back in 1980-81 and loved their Taco Pizza.

"pizza looking,taco tasting pizza" sung to the tune of the mexican hat dance-very very VERY good!i loved it because it was made with cheddar cheese(i hate mozzarella-i know it un-american but i do.)so this was an extra treat for me being that i loved tacos too! please,pizza hut,bring it back!

Pizza Hut still has Taco Pizza, as does just about every other pizza place except Little Ceasar's and Domino's. Pizza Hut's is pretty good, but Pietro's in Oregon and Washington makes the best taco pizza I've ever tasted. I can eat a whole large one in one afternoon, but I get terrible indigestion shortly thereafter.

Pizza here in Ohio no longer makes this pizza. It was the best pizza they ever made!

Hey there~ I worked at Pizza Hut in the 80's and made many taco pizzas^^ It was my favorite (so much so that I make it at hoe to this day). I doubt they'll bring it back, but that doesn't stop ya from makin' it yerself^^ cheers, from Seoul, Korea

I remember when these first came out, my Dad won a bunch of coupons off the radio and we had a Taco Tasting Pizza party, it was the best I wish they would bring it back.

In 1979, my (now) husband and I became engaged to be married while eating a Pizza Hut Taco Pizza. Every year, on that same date, we went to Pizza Hut for a Taco Pizza. When they stopped making it, we began making our own version. It's been 31 years and we still have a Taco Pizza one day a year. PIZZA HUT - BRING IT BACK!

They still have the Taco Pizza at Pizza Hut in limited locations. I know they still have it in Monahans and Kermit TX ( In West Texas). We go back to that area to visit family a couple times a year and always get the Taco Pizza. So GOOD !!!!

I remember the taco pizza from pizza hut, by far the best taco pizza I've had. I don't remember it having salsa back in the day, seems like it may have had refried beans. I loved that pizza. later in the 90's some time pizza hut was making it again but not the same, that satisfied the craving but they no longer make it in the dfw area, makes me very sad! Bring back the original Pizza Hut!!!

Pizza Hut Taco Pizza = Pan Crust (at the time, still a buttermilk crust made daily), layer of retried beans, cheddar cheese (shredded).. Run through the pizza oven.. Then top with lettuce (not a darn bag salad mix), fresh cubed tomatoes, and onions, then another layer of cheddar cheese. Serve with Pace Picante Sauce (mild) on the side. That was the Pizza Hut Taco Pizza. I know, I ate and made enough of them in the eighties and early nineties. Still live them to this day.

Me too and this is the original recipe. Worked at one in Ohio for six years. Made ton of them. The best. We had only two crusts at the time pan and thin. Had personal as well. Add thin crust and all that Richard stated and you have the recipe.

They still have taco pizza in northwest ohio at three pizza hut locations; Bryan, Wauseon, and Defiance.

I don't recall refried beans, is that maybe something used later for a Pan Style Taco Pizza?

In Kansas City, Pizza Hut Taco Pizza back in the 80s and 90s WAS with Refried Beans--there was NOT any beef (hamburger) on it. We ADORED it! I could eat a half of a large pizza by myself. I weighed only 120lbs. I am going to try to make it at home. My oldest daughter and I love it!

I never liked regular pizza as a kid so I was thrilled to have taco pizza every time I visited my grandma in Iowa. When they stopped making it I was pretty heartbroken, but Casey’s made a decent version. However, theirs seems to be going downhill (too little sauce and chips). Really wish Pizza Hut would bring it back!

My hometown in Fairmont, MN Godfathers closed a few years back. Move to CO and the one in Brighton, CO closed down earlier this year. Their Taco Pizza was great. Had Pizza Huts once, was not really impressed but it was still good.
