Description
This yogurt was a bit creamier, and sweeter than regular yogurts. It was so good, and came in dessert flavors like Cherries Jubilee, Amaretto, A raspberry flavor, and a dutch choclate that tasted like choclate cheesecake. They were all so good, but my favorites were the amaretto, and chocolate. It came out around 1987, and was out only a year or two. I still crave them.

i don't remember the dessert yogurt... but i remember yoplait made a "breakfast yogurt" that had fruit and grains mixed in it. i probably ate 2 of those a day when i was little. i loved the apple cinnamon flavor.

Yes! Why don't they still make it.. the one with berries and grains was the perfect breakfast!

It's sad that no one remembers the dessert yogurt. It was some of the best stuff I put in my mouth. The Dutch Chocolate was the best. Heaven on a spoon.

I loved the breakfast style yogurt, too. I've discovered Liberte yogurt which is the same type of thing. It may be hard to find; I buy it from the local natural foods store. Brown Cow also made or makes a yogurt with grains, but I don't like it as much as the Liberte.

Bring back Yoplait breakfast yogurt! I miss that stuff and can't find it anywhere in Arizona.

Ooh my gosh, my mom use to buy me this yogurt all the time when I was kid. It was the best...I have written to yoplait asking them why they don't carry it. They said they didn't have great sales with this product. Well, everytime we went to the store it was hard to find it. I have tried the LIBERTE and the Brown Cow....these suck in comparison to the breakfast yogurt(not as chunky). If they bring this back I will buy cases!!!

I contacted the Yoplait company about their "Breakfast Yogurt" a few years back, they just gave me some "tastes change" song-and-dance. And I agree, tastes do change, imagine how much delicious yogurt with chucks of fruit and wheat berries they'd sell today!

Seriously about the breakfast yogurt!! But I had a revelation today: I mixed whole wheat berries with my oatmeal for the first time today. I didn't realize it, but wheat berries are the secret grain in breakfast yogurt that gave it that killer texture. I was trying to find some of the actual yogurt flavor recipes to re-mix the breakfast yogurt from plain. Now I realize I am not the only one that loved the hell out of that breakfast yogurt.

Oh I remember the Amaretto & chocolate yogurt! It came in the cute little dessert dish shaped cup and the Amaretto came with toasted almonds, it was YUM! I still crave it too! :) The closest thing you can get to the chocolate one is the Raspberry/chocolate Delight. It's ok but the rasp. is kinda cluttering up the chocolate...lol!

We loved breakfast yogurt too! I do make my own version and it is pretty good. I take a ogurt flavor I like (Stoneyfield Banilla) and mix in some granola cereal (Cascadian Farms) w/ some chopped pecans let it sit a bit 15 min at least and YUM! Not exact but good. You can let it sit in fridge over night too.

OMG I loved the breakfast yogurt as a kid too. But I found a way to sort of recreate it. Make some barley (the quick stuff is fine and you can keep in in the fridge for a week), chop up some walnuts, and mix it in with your favorite flavor of Yoplait. You get the awesome crunchy/chewy thing going on and it makes a great breakfast or after-workout snack.

Let's get everyone we know to write Yoplait and request they bring it back. Everyone I talk to about it loved it. My kids loved it growing up and wish they had it for their own kids.

Loved the breakfast yogurt as well. I talk about it all the time. That's sad. I too think that it would sell well today. If that was the issue.

I have wonderful recollections of the "Breakfast-style" yogurt. Sounds a bit weird (grains in yogurt?), but it was SERIOUSLY some of the most delicious stuff I've ever tasted. Since Yoplait axed it, I make my own. I've had GREAT success with using cooked barley if I can't find whole wheat berries (cracked wheat is too soft). Give it a shot, you'd be amazed at how close to the Yoplait article it is!

So glad to hear that others know what I'm talking about. My husband never heard of it. As a kid I was extremely picky but I loved this breakfast yogurt. I just had a revelation, I was at Sprouts & saw it in a bin and thought to myself, that's what was in that yogurt...wheat berries, I never knew what it was. I'm going to make it myself.

I am so glad I saw this blog. I could not think of the thing that was in the Breakfast Yogurt...wheat berries, wow. Hate to repeat what's already been said but I loved it too and still miss the Yoplait breakfast yogurt. I will try to make it myself also. I just sent Yoplait a message asking what happened to the Breakfast Yogurt, not feeling confident that they would actually answer I decided to do a search. Thanks everyone...

Amazing what you can find with google. I thought I was the ONLY person who remembered the breakfast yogurts. They rocked! I miss them!!! I commented on their facebook page today to tell me what was in it so I can duplicate them myself. The texture was amazing!!

I've been CRAVING the breakfast yogurt Yoplait used to make. I seriously loved that stuff. Were they called Yoplait Harvest Grains or something like that? I think I need to recreate it myself with barely...so wish they made this stuff still!!

My mom used to work for General Mills, so we had tons and tons of this breakfast yogurt and loved it!!!! They must have complete and utter idiots working there to have discontinued it. Every fast-food joint has something similar nowadays but they all cost way way more and are full of fakey ingredients. If anyone at General Mills had a clue, they'd get this stuff back on the market pronto!!! They'd make a killing! Everyone wants a fast, nutritious breakfast--and this stuff was da bomb!

I just bought some wheatberries to try and recreate "breakfast yogurt". I first had it on a flight years ago and loved it so much!! I could not believe that they stopped making it!!

I know what you are talking about with the dessert yogurts.I have thought over the years, why did they stop making them? It was Chocolate Barvarian, strawberries Romanoff and ameretto almond. They did come in those cute little dessert cups. They were fabulous. It was in the 80's. If yoplait sees this, please bring them back!!!!
