It was a gum, and it came five or six to a pack. They were round, and bumpy, and came in grape and orange. There was some kind of tangy crystaline candy in each center of the gum.

I loved those things! My friend and I could have sworn they were made by the Leaf company. I sent them an e-mail about a year ago. I don't think I am going to hear back. Other candy I remember...Rubble Bubble Gum and Rinky Dinks.

They were made by the Leaf company, the same company that made the baseball cards. Leaf Inc. was sold to another company (Hersheys, I think) and the recipe is locked "in the vault". We should all write them and get them to re-release them.

I have looked for Zappers for many years. There were 6 in a pack 3 orange and 3 grape I think. My friends and I would bike to Ben Franklin in the 80's to buy them.

Oh thank God!! I was starting to think I was the only one who knew what Zappers were. I'm so glad I found this site. At least people can't look at me like I'm crazy anymore. BRING BACK ZAPPERS!! I'm on board to write whatever company needs to be written to!!!!!!!!!!

Leaf's North American division went to Hershey's. The foreign components of Leaf are now Finnish and Swedish companys Cloetta and Faser. They probably have Zappers overseas under a different name, go figure.

I've been trying for years to find these. Let's get a petition going, send to Hershey's, and see what happens.

Can't find them either, went to amazon to find boxed candy sets in the 80's. They had a set with snappers but they were in a box and they didn't look familiar I guess they lost forever
