Description

These were toys that looked like a piece of military equipment: a grenade, canteen, etc. It opened up into a small playset with little army men and stuff.

I totally remember these! I had the Swiss Army Knife that turned into a submarine and the hand grenade that turned into a base.

The best was the Christmas a bunch of my family spent in Tennessee, where I got the M16. Each part of the rifle became it's own little base. The canteen actually held a little bit of water, and opened into an aircraft carrier complete with F-14. I also had the compass, the pistol, the grenade...I still find legs and torsos of the guys in my old things.

I used to have a wrist-compass that opened up to launch a helicopter-like plastic ring. Wish I'd had more of them, they were cool.

I loved these things, and actually re-discovered the few that I had not too long ago at my parents house. I had the canteen, the grenade and the machete that turned into a cool watch tower. Even founf the little figures that came with the pieces.

Anyone know what manufacturer put this toy line out? My brother and I had the 1911 pistol and the watch - they both were awesome!

Wow!!! This brings me back to when I was a kid taking a trip to the Venture (a department store similar to Target, but back in 87) w/ my parents and came across the canteen...Needless to say, I begged for it and finally got it. It was a sweet toy that I lined w/ not just it's F14, but loads of die-cast fighter jet planes that I bought separately for like .99 cents each.

Hi ! I posted the photo. The manufacturer was Galoob. There were, in fact, a lot of toys crated. We remember the guns, grenade, rifle, etc. But there were medals and swiss knives which could transform into mini vehicles. Since march 2008, i'll give a link to a forum where i'll show 95% of the product line. Later !

I had bomb, lamp, knife and canteen and oh I miss that so much. I'd love to have that again although I'm grown man now but the picture of those toys brings me back to childhood. I wish I could be bought again :(

Wow, I haven't seen these in ages! I have been looking everywhere for these. I had the grenade when I was a kid. This always reminded me of Mighty Max but this came out first. Yeah, we had the best toys in the 80's, alot of kids these days are being cheated if you ask me. Good times...
