my older sister had this doll but she wasn't able to spit bubbles for most of her days because Kelsey shoved pine needles in her mouth, haha.

Baby Bubbles was my first doll. My parents gave it to me for Christmas. I have lots of treasured memories of that doll. Unfortunately it got lost.

I got Baby Bubbles for my 7th birthday, and had six wonderful years with her. I'd cut her hair off, drew makup on her, decorated her cloth body with boobs and everything... our house burned down when I was 13, and I had her sitting in a box on the back steps. When we were allowed to go in and look around in the rubble, there was a puddle of peach-colored goo covering the steps, and one eyeball. Very disturbing. :(

I got Bubbles when I was just about to turn one for Christmas. She had her own crib in my room and everything. She was def my "security blanket" and ironically still is. As a 21 year old college Junior she is currently sitting in my room in my sorority house! She doesn't look exactly the same... but shes still pretty bad ass... And she def hasn't blown bubbles since I can remember... haha

My Mother passed away in 2001 and in the basement in the orignal box was a baby bubbles and also in the original box was a Archie Bunker's Grandson, neither has ever been out and played with.

I have still have my baby bubbles doll to this day. It is actually right next to me right now :) I sleep with it every night because I like the coldness of the plastic. It was and has always been my security blanket. I got it the christmas right after I turned five and I am 23 now. I know kind of odd I still have a doll, but it can't get rid of it I have too many memories. It has fallen apart many times and has had to be sewn back up. I just tonight had to put the head back on with a new ziptie because the original one broke :) I am so glad I am not the only one that has cherished this doll.

Oh and to add to my comment, she hasn't blown bubbles since right after I got her because my twin brother stuck a pencil in her mouth and the lead is still in there today :) haha

I got this for my 5th birthday and she was definitely my favorite doll. I carried her around with me everywhere. She had a little crib beside my bed that she slept in at night. I got rid of her when I was older because she was "too babyish" for my 8 year old self, and now I wish I still had her :(

I loved my Baby Bubbles! I wasn't the sort of kid to ask for anything, but I badgered my parents for her until I got her that Christmas! My Grandma crocheted a whole wardrobe of doll dresses and hats for her. The box I packed her in was lost (along with my Babysitter Club Books, grr) during a family move from California to Oregon. I wish I could have her back again...

Rachael, that is very weird because when I was little (ironically, my friend Rachael was over that day) my house caught fire and my baby bubbles was only an peach colored puddle with eyes!

I got a Baby Bubbles doll for Christmas in 1989. Mine was African-American because by the time "Santa" went to Toys R Us, the little blonde ones were sold out. We have a very embarrassing home video from that Christmas in which I come off like a baby racist (I was three).

I got my baby bubbles for Christmas many years ago and still have her today. The poor thing had an arm ripped off because my sister and I were playing tug a war with her. I put her back together w some hot glue. It didn't look too pretty but it did the job for a while. I hope to give her to my daughter one day-hopefully she wont be scared of it. my daughter is a month and a half now...

I just bought this doll from a thrift store that is closing down..gave four dollars for her, she is in prefect condition, only she has brownish open/close eyes with long lashes instead of blue, and she is wearing a beautiful pink olden style gown with bloomers and matching bonnet. They are original clothes for her as they have a tag sewn on the inside of them that reads Baby Bubbles, IDEAL logo and date , same as on the back of her head. She came in a white wicker bassinet, with a carrying handle, not sure if this is a true part of her or not, but it goes well with her. I had bought her for my almost 6 year old granddaughter, but, am seriously thinking of keeping her for my own collection. lol

I got this doll for my birthday when i was about 6 I think. She has been my companion ever since ( just turned 30) she has seen better days... Her hair isn't the best and she no longer has eye lashes. SOme might say she is "scary" but my 1 year old daughter just discovered her and loves her just as I did. I sense many more family trips and day to day adventures for this doll. Which is named Kimmy after my mom who gave her to me.

I got this for christmas in 89 when I was one from mygranny. She has been loved and slept with every night for 24 yrs. My husband told me it was silly and she was ugly. I told him to move to a different bedroom cause I have more history and sercurity with my doll to give her up.

I got my first Christmas '90, I named her Heather. A beautiful lil African-American princess, she was adorable! Overtime however due to endless love, her hair started to go after many shampoo sessions, her eyelashes fell out due to many playing eye dr. appts (I wore glasses as a lil kid so she to endure just like me :)). Her arm was also torn off due to a tug-of-war but was successfully duct taped back on. My mom threw her away after finding her in my closet on day while I was in high school. I was broken hearted. During the yrs, I began collecting Lee Middleton dolls, I have 3 of them but I ALWAYS wanted my first lil girl back. Luckily, I looked her up again, for two yrs!!, & found someone selling her for $6.99 on E-Bay but due to moving cross-country she ended up costing $25 TOTALLY WORTH IT! I named her Nyla, my fiancé has mixed feelings about her but does accept her along with her sisters. We're getting married in Dec. & having our first child next yr. I will be passing them down to her, if it's a girl. For all those who are still looking, I would defiantly check E-bay! Best of luck! :)

Well first of all I don't know why anyone would describe this doll as "very gross" as in the description above. I got mine when I was 9 and I thought she was so cute and I still have her and I still think she is one of the cutest dolls I own. Also she doesnt have fro-ish hair if brush it its fine. So this is the cutest doll so don't listen to the idiotic and completely inaccurate description.

I loved this doll. I remember when I use to hold her as I ate dinner. I use to hate going to school because I never wanted to leave her home alone. This was my favorite doll ever.

I had this doll. She looked rough by the time I was in elementary school and reminded me of Chucky from Child’s play. My mom tried to hang her from my ceiling fan to scare me. I caught her in the act and buried her in the trash can and made sure the trash truck drove away with her. I was terrified of it.
Holly - June 21, 2020 - Report this comment
Just to clarify, I threw the doll in the trash lmao. My brother tried to sneak her out Of the trash but I was keeping watch till the trash truck came.
