I have still got my Cricket & my niece loves playing with her. I also had a baby talk but not many people seem to remeber her. She was my favourite doll ever

Cricket was awesome, she had a cassette tape player in her back. When you put in her special tapes they would make her mouth move at a specific rate to make it look like she was really talking, she moved her eyes around too. They even made a doll of her little brother for boys, and they made black versions too.

I still have my BabyTalk doll and she still works perfectly, 22 years after I got her for Christmas!!! Must admit though that she scared the hell out of me so I had to cover her over at night. Think it's time to pass her on, as I'm expected my second son in December, so she's going on E Bay in the next week or so!!!

I loved my cricket doll! My brothers put a Bon Jovi tape in her back and her mouth still moved to the music, haha...Sadly, I think that led to her demise.

OMG... I have been asking my mother about this doll for years, I'm 23 now. She always said that I had too many dolls that talked for her to remember which one I was talking about. I had the African American version. She went everywhere with me!! I think my parents gave her to the Toys for Tots toy drive one year:( I would love to have one for my daughter....

I remember the Cricket doll that I got years ago. To this day, I still ask my mama about Cricket. She was my very best friend and we use to sing, "She'll be coming around the mountain when she comes". She was the best. We moved one day and my parents left her in the attic and here I am nearly 22 years later and I still miss her. I really would like to find one for my daughter. I think that she would have liked her....If there is anyone who know where I could find one, please email me @ tlakayg99@yahoo.com. Thanks

I had this doll... It as great ! Although I think as years went on it must have gotten a short circut or something because it started talking one day with no batteries..... After that the doll went to goodwill.... As she started to creep me out a lil too much.

I still have my Cricket Doll. I was 9 when I got mine. Although I live in a different state from where she is, my mother still has her sitting on my old dresser in my old room. My kids always ask me, "Mommy you use to play with that?" I tell them yes I did. I still love her too.

Cricket's brothers name was Corky. I think he had red curly hair. My freind who was super spoiled had Cricket. I remember her being the most expensive doll available at the time.

I always wanted a Cricket Doll. My mother wouldn't let me have one because she thought that Cricket sounded too much like Tammy Faye Baker. Does she really?

I remember I got a Cricket doll for Christmas one year and ended up taking her to the East Coast that following summer when we went to go see some friends. I, too, thought Cricket was a little creepy and had to keep her covered up at night - Dolls can be wretched little backstabbers, you know. Anyway, me and my friend got to playing outside of the hotel and we ended up blowing Cricket to pretend pieces with toy grenades and pumping her full of lead with pointed finger machine guns. Cricket was a good sport... even thought she kept coming back to life - it wasn't her fault that she was demon possessed. Poor Cricket. Rest in pieces.

I got the Baby Talk Doll for Christmas one year, I L-O-V-E-D her!! I use to pull out my top dresser draw every night and made a pretend crib for her. Sadly, over the months I forgot to take her out and when I finally did remember she was in there the batteries in her back had turned brown and leaked brown battery (acid) all over everything in my dresser. When I hit the "Play" button on her side, her head tuned, her eyes blinked and she recited a horrible demonic version of "I love You." Which sent me running, screaming and crying. My Mom threw her away. I'm 28 now and, Thank God I don't have kids yet! RIP Baby Talk wherever you are

I still have my cricket doll. I've had her since i was 2 years old. I am in my 20's now. Cricket was my favorite doll ever in the 80's, even though when i first got her she was just as tall as i was....I was a very very small 2 yr old. I would pull cricket around by her arm while she talked becaue I wasn't strong enough to pick her up, lol!

aww. omg i used to love this doll! I named her Renee RaShay..had da african american one. Its crazy because as a kid you can be very creative..there was times i got bored and would stick my brothers rap tapes in her back and at time play my moms Luther Vandross and Whitney tapes in her. It was like the coolest thing to have her singing all type of "special tunes" lol. I think i'm going to have to find her and buy her..such a Collector's Item. Used to take her to show and tell and then oneday she just up and disappeared. Think my Granny threw her away! i loved her..she was my "child" lol

I wanted a Cricket doll SO bad!!! However, I didn't go to bed one night, so my mom called Santa and told him I shouldn't get one that year. I still bring this up to her!

If you have a Black Baby Talk Doll, please email me if you're interested in selling her. My email is alicia82@yahoo.com. I am serious. My mother threw mine away a few years back and I will never forgive her. It's because she scared her cuz I had played with her a bit too much and tried to change her nail color and eye color (I was a kid!!! lol) so she didn't look the same. Please let me know. I either got her in '87 or '89 and I want her back so badly. if you have a Black one, I will pay you for it if the price is reasonable. Thanks for your time.

I am also looking for a Baby Talk Doll. My wife always talks about how much she loved her Baby Talk and the prescious memories she has with her. Her mother threw it away 5 years ago and my wife is still heart broken over it. I would love to get one for her as a suprise for her upcoming birthday or Valentines day. Please write me at best_bet109@yahoo.com if you are willing to sell me yours, or know where I can get one. Please any information you have would be greatly appreciated.

We bought our daughter Cricket, and they were best friends, but alas she doesn't want her now. If anyone is looking for Cricket to buy, we have one and are willing to sell her. She is in full working order, has several original outfits and her shoes) and some others we gave to her, (and about 6 tapes and books to go with them. Email me at georgieim@yahoo.com if you'd like to buy her

When I got a little older, I had a friend who was afraid of my cricket doll, so one time I recorded a tape saying my friend's name in a creepy voice and switched the cricket tape with that one. Then, left cricket in the room with her by herself with the tape playing...Funniest thing ever!
