I had a ton of these. It started when I bought a pack just for the little Bulldog warrior that was in it ( I collected dogs off and on all throughout my childhood. I still collect them now ) but I ended up getting addicted and buying tons more.

I remember Battle Beasts vividly. They were toys that were based of the "rock, paper, scissors" game..but instead used the elements of "fire, wood, water". The 1980's commercial went something like: "Fire!..Water..water puts out fire".."Battle Beasts"..."Wood,..Fire..fire burns wood".."Battle Beasts".."Water,.wood...wood dams up water"

These were pretty cool. I had a bat, a chimp/gorilla, a boar and a spider... sadly, they didn't stay on the shelves long enough at the local stores to get any more.

I had so many of these that I loved. They were awesome. I'm 30 but would play with them again if they still made them! Their symbols were wood, water and fire! They were great.

These were awesome! I didn't know any other girls that had any. I still have mine somewhere! I remember the white shark, and a blue shark, the spider, the bat, a duck, a beaver, a white lion, a snake, an elephant, a mole...I wanted ALL of them, but they weren't around long enough.

How funny! I am 30, and all of these toys were so great!! My husband had Battle Beasts when he was a kid, and my 7 year old son found them at my mother in laws house and now he plays with them! He loves them. We got a ton more on ebay and he and my husband play with them together! My husband really loves them still!

I remember my wierd friend taking my Bulldog battle beast and playing out this little scenario wherein another battle beast would say something to the bulldog who would respond by smacking the other battle beast and shouting BULLS**T!! My friend would do this over and over again. That boy wan't right.

I loved these things too! One thing I remember is that the rub emblems would come off to easily and I was always finding those little squares in random places.
kevin - February 18, 2010 - Report this comment
did anyone else remove the emblems because you wanted them to all be on the same side?

It turns out that in Japan the battlebeast line was part of the Transformers storyline but Hasbro brought them over as a seperate line.

Oh my god I LOVED Battle Beasts!!! Me and my friends used to get in so much trouble in school waging war and trading them. Ahhh... the good ol days.

lol Kevin, yeah, I did. You could slide off the emblems with your thumb. Damn I remember these like it was yesterday.

I have my box of Battle Beasts and M.u.s.c.l.e Figures right here in an old Eggo Waffle Box. I probably have about 1000 total of all those figures. I'm really stuck in the 80's. I can't find them anywhere but Ebay and I don't trust ebay. I even contacted Hasbro years ago to see if they had them in a storage somewhere I could buy some lol.

I played with mine until the arms fell off. I could never find them to replace them. Very disappointing. I had the owl with a scope eye and a frog with a yellow spear as an arm. I used to make sounds when I would crash them together and talk in darth vadar voices. Yeh a little strange but don't try and say you didn't do the same thing.

I have a few, and I intend, over the years, to slowly increase my collection's number. Three out of four of them have rubsigns.

Does anyone know wher I could find the Battle Fennec and Skybat figurines, though I'm pretty sure these were only released in Japan.
