Description
Burple was a drink mix that came in a expanding container. It started out small but you had to stretch it and add water to make the drink. The commercials jingle was: "Ba ba ba ba baby - woohoo - ba ba ba burple.....twist and stretch? add water to the mix, shake yourself silly, its totally hip! Ba ba ba ba baby - woohoo - ba ba ba burple!"

I just asked someone if they remembered these and they thought I was crazy! I had to look it up online but not many hits on them...I wonder if they still make them...you can still get a lot of these old drinks and candies at novelty stores...

I remember this! I even remember the song on the commercials. "Ba ba ba ba baby - woohoo - ba ba ba burple.....twist and stretch? add water to the mix, shake yourself silly, its totally hip! Ba ba ba ba baby - woohoo - ba ba ba burple!" I was true 80's, the contraption was a silly idea to raise the price of koolaid type mix.

My husband and I were laying in bed last night and that just randomly popped in my head and for the life of us we could not figure out what it was called. Has anyone seen it anywhere online, I know you can still buy off the wall stuff like that, as a matter of fact, I just ordered Koala Yummies(now Koala's March) online. Anyone remember those? YUM!

I've brought up the "Burple" to so many people and everyone thinks I'm crazy!! I can't believe so many people were oblivious to such a great concept. They should feel cheated! And to make up for it, the burple should make a come back!

I have 3 of these burple bottles. 1 pink, 1 orange, 1 purple I would think someone on e-bay would be looking to buy them but haven't seen them on there. Does anyone remember what company made these? Was it General Foods?

I remember getting a purple one from Pizza Hut or something? I filled it in the sink at my grandma's house and then tried to compress it with water in it. It sprayed all over. Then Burple disappeared forever. I'm sure it's still at my grandma's house somewhere...

Burple was made by Kraft. I emailed them asking for a way to order Burple but received a form letter responce stating that they appreciated my interest, but they no longer manufacture "the popular sports drink" and they would be more than happy to send me coupons for current Kraft products. :P Lame.

I too remember these, Little Ceasars and Dominoes was selling them or giving them away free with a pizza order. I mostly remember the grape. They were totally awesome, and most people I talk to today would have no idea what I was talking about.

Ohhhhh My! I sooo remember having Burple's as a kid. I thought they were the coolest things ever. I think I have the larger Burple's packed away somewhere. I think I have a red, pink, and purple one. I should look for them. I asked people at work before if they knew what I was talking about, and they all look at me like I am crazy. I hope they come back again! That would be cool.

I remember Burple coming in larger containers that were kept in the fridge. I don't remember how big, 1-2 quarts maybe? 2 quarts sounds too big. They also sold small Burples that you carried around with you. They were in the 3rd aisle at Foodland, and even THAT is gone now.

I remember we used to love Burple not because the juice was any good, but because the bottles were so darn fun to play with when it was gone. We used to poke a hole in the lid and fill the bottle with water, then collapse it aiming the cap at someone else. Made a great squirt gun!

Isn't it strange how random things bring back memories? Aside from that jingle "ba ba ba burple" that I remember VERY vividly, I'll never forget the day my cousin fell out the back of our station wagon on the highway. When we finally got her home, all scraped and bruised, my aunt brought her a grape Burple to make her feel better. I was so jealous!

My friend would not believe that Burples existed...UNTIL NOW. A picture of a Burple was one of the rare things you could not find on the internet all the way up until just a few years ago. Now if only they would start distributing them again!

Yes my friend got the orange burple, I got the grape! If I remember right you could fill it up a couple of times.... It was suppose to still have flavor! The commorcial for burple would be on the Saturday morning cartoons!

My brother and I loved these things. I preferred them to koolaid. I think my mom was a little less fond of them after my little brother tried to make some a few times, only to collapse the filled bottle of staining liquid. Sploosh! That was also a school lunch prank. Mad moms everywhere

I was a struggling single Mom with 2 kids in the mid-80s and had to resist buying every new gimmick that came out. My son wrote a poem titled "The Burple They Wouldn't Buy Me." It was inspired by Shel Silverstein's poem "Little Abigail and the Beautiful Pony." You must read it. Abigail was going to die if she didn't get the pony. Well, I bought the Burple for my son and never regretted it once. Cheers for creativity in children!
