Description
This toy probably came out in the 70s, but I remember playing with it in the 80s. It was a set of plastic and sturdy cardboard pieces you could use to build Busytown scenes from the famous Richard Scarry books. The plastic pieces had a waffle-top pattern and formed the base, and the cardboard pieces would fit into the slots to stand upright. I think it also included plastic character figurines - Lowly Worm, Huckle Cat, etc. In our house, this was a "rainy day toy" - something you only dragged out of the closet when boredom made you desperate enough.

This was a favorite toy of mine! I found this page just now thinking about it. Too bad there's no photos. I don't have any; would love to see more about this fun set!
