I had one of these.. they came in a plastic Cauliflower.. you had to open the top to find out if it was a girl or boy and what colour hair and stuff. Just a bad Cabbage Patch rip off

I thought they were pretty neat! I did not see them as a Cabbage Patch rip off. I mean think about it, do you ever run across them on thet net? (besides this website of course). Most people do not even remember them. If we still had the Cauliflower Kids that we had as young children, they would indeed be worth some money today. I actually liked my Cauliflower Kid more than I liked my Cabbage Patch Kid!

I think I got one of those too...but weren't they recalled for fire hazards or something, or was that a different cabbage patch rip off??? It was big news right around christmas time. My parents couldn't get/afford a real one, so I got this other one, and had to get rid of it (thankfully, relatives in england shipped me one - easier to get, I suppose).

I have a cauliflower kid, still with orignal plastic cauliflower!!! She's got long brown hair and freckles. Infact, I hope to not have her for too much longer, as she's going on E bay in the next week or so, along with my 1985 Babytalk doll that scared the hell out of me!!!!

My husband just brought me home two cauliflower kids. A boy and a girl. They were given to him today from an elderly women whos daughter passed away years ago. The girl is still in the cauliflower. I just looked on e-bay and did not find any. Does anyone know anyone that collects them that may want to purchase them?

I had a blue haired cauliflower kid when I was younger. I loved her. I took that thing EVERYWHERE with me. Then one vacation I left her in a motel room in New Hampshire and my mom refused to go back for it. I was crushed. I've been trying to find one on eBay or something but can't find any anywhere. I had those little muffin dolls! Their muffins were scented. I remember those chocolate ones!!!!! mmm They smelled so good, I sniffed them so much!!! lol

I told my husband about the my cauliflower kid and how at christmas a prayed and wished for a cabbage patch kid but with three kids my mom and dad couldn't or better yet won't pay the $35.00 for a doll...just think about how much we spend today on our kids....we all loved our not so top shelf doll....

I remember back in 1986 I really wanted a cabbage patch kid. I just knew I would wake up Christmas Morning and find her in the box. I was FLABBERGASTED to find a smelly Cauliflower doll. I was upset, angry and disappointed to the point of being put on punishment on Christmas Day. My Mother assured me she tried her best but all the CP dolls were sold out and she was told C-kids was the next best thing. I had to earn my right to receive a CP doll for the following Christmas; and once again I received the Short end of the stick by receiving a Cabbage Patch Preemi Baby...all these years later my mother and I have a great laugh about the whole situation...what a great memory. I went shopping with my father in December 1983 and saw a display of Cauliflower dolls. Come Christmas morning, "Santa" had left two wrapped Cauliflower dolls under our tree (one for my sister and one for myself). I can still remember the feeling and anticipation of pulling my doll out of the cauliflower. She had long pink hair and smelled like vanilla. My sister's was bald with a few black strands of hair (many years later after the head popped off, I would tease her with it LOL). Before Christmas day was over we had traded dolls and then traded back. I carried this doll (Nancy) with me wherever I went. She developed a personality of her own. For hours, I would make up stories with her and entertain my mom. Nancy became an extention of the family. My mom would dress her up for Halloween, help me wash her hair and hang her over a chair overnight so the yarn could dry! My dad hated the doll of course cause she was such nonsense to him. Once he threw her outside and her face landed on the sidewalk (chipped her nose, LOL). He surprised me though when he sewed her arm back on after a game of tug of war with my sister. I kept this doll over the years. She is like the Velveteen Rabbit, all torn and tattered. She is packed away and every now and again I will pull her out and look at her. She holds all the memories of my childhood.

I finally bought a cauliflower kid. It has a ski suit on & went 4 around 30 bucks on ebay. (This was w/out the container.) I just happened 2 buy the container 4 it a few weeks earlier that some lady sold w/ real CPK dolls. Yea! I love the CPK fakies better then the real ones...I guess cuz their rarier..& cutier.

I got one for my daughter back in the real early eighties and at the time she was not grateful because she wanted a Cabbage Patch kid instead ,but the cauliflower kids was more affordable. And it's been a topic of conversation in the family all of these years because her family was too poor to get her a Cabbage Patch doll , so after she was grown one of her best friends at the time bought her a Cabbage Patch doll and she has kept it in her closet still in the box ever since.
