I have several of these sets. I once made a glove-type thing that had a winch on it. Not to mention lots of cars and spaceships.

I was at the Goodwill in State College, PA (Go Penn State!) a couple years ago when I was in school, and they had a huge Construx set complete with box and instructions for $2. Of course, I had to buy. A true 80's toy fan can't pass up something like that, no matter if they play with it or not. Of course I played with mine for weekd.

Man, I loved these things. Played with em all the time as a kid. Really made me feel old though to hear that they were discontinued in 1988.

I love these things, I build all kinds of cool stuff, Carts, houses, windmills, they had motorized kits, anyone know where I can get some of these?

I recently helped my Mom clean out her attic. How suprised was I when I pulled out two large boxes FILLED with my old Construx. I've brought them home, cleaned them up, and now MY 5 year old daughter gets to play with them. I think Construx are an engineers dream, they require so much more imagination and thinking than Legos. In a way I think they are much more educational!

I had several of these and I would create video games out of these. Like for Donkey Kong I would have the ramps set out and would have the man climb to the top and jump over the tires. And they were good for building big structures as well!

I used to build arms with claws and even wearable helmets.

IMO, these were the best building toys ever created. I had set after set after set. I remember one year, I build a science project out of these. I always lost the little plastic pieces that went onto the end of the sticks to allow 2 pieces to rotate. They should release these again. Kids dont have any imagination anyore.

Where can I get these? My husband had them as a boy and tried to find them to replace them as an adult. He could'nt remember the name though. Looking for an unusual gift for him, I saw pictures of what someone had created online, and thought that this fit the description he has given me for years. I showed him the pictures online, and he said "THAT'S IT!!!" I dont like to buy from e-bay, is there any other way i can get this?

I had SO MANY of these as a kid. Glow in the dark sets, vehicle sets, and of course a gigantic boxed set with so many pictures of the cool things an industrious boy of nine could build. They were really durable and the size of the sructures you could make was ridiculous. Too bad the line folded because there isn't a replacement toy on the market todya. Oh yes, and the figure were really cool too!

I'm 34 and they're still great fun. I took some acid a few years ago and built a giant Construx Gothic cathedral the size of a doghouse, best trip I ever had.

I just used my old Construx collection to do a quick mock-up of a piece of equipment we were designing. The beams, swivels, shafts and pulleys were perfect for what I wanted. Can't do that with Lego! Shame it was discontinued, all my pieces say "Made in USA" too, verifying that it was indeed from the Good Old Days. Still some sets to be found on E-Bay if anyone is looking, but I'll never part with mine.

I have about 20 sets combined in a big bin that I keep in the apartment ( instead of storage). I took them out the one day when my daughter's friend was there, and they both played with it for hours!

I believe I have the worlds largest collection. I estimate I own well over 100 lbs of this awsome toy. I built everything you can imagine as a kid. IT WAS AWSOME

I remember playing with these as a kid... built all kind of crazy stuff. I remember one year for halloween I even made myself an alien costume using parts from contrux: flashing lights, battery, glow in the dark parts... best costume ever :)

my dad bought a few sets for us every Christmas until they were discontinued. We had so much fun with them. The space sts were my favorite. Our dad built an amusement park while we were at school complete with working rides. It was amazing.

We have some of these still! We got two yellow boxes that you can keep the pieces in. I don't remember if all the sets came like that or if it was a special one or not. My boys play with them at Grandma's house every time we visit. I remember there were suction cups and my brother and I would have "houses" attached to the side of the fish tank!
