Description
From the commercial series, the two Crash Test Dummies and their test car that would break into pieces when rammed against a wall, rolled, or any other destructive idea kids could come up with. Simply straighten out the cars crumpled up hood, put the wheels/roof/panels back on the car, put the two dummies back in their seats, buckle them up and go! Great fun.

I thought this came out in the 90's. Maybe they had one in the late eighties. I remember my little brother got one for his fifth birthday ('96) and he never shared it with us. I was like fifteen and my sister was eleven, but we still wanted to play with his toy.

These did come out in the late-80s, or so I remember. Anyhow, I was around 10 years old when these came out, and I had some of them. (I loved toy cars.) About 5 years later, I got a hold of some extremely powerful bottle rockets and a homemade skate ramp, put two dummies each into a total of three cars that were missing parts, and I blew everything to a charred, melted mess. I was kind of a real-life, female version of Sid from "Toy Story".

The whole 80s vs 90s debate is easily understandable. The TV spots on which the toys were based came out in the 80s. All info I found online suggests the toys did not come out until the very early 90s. However, I remember the toys before that as well, maybe its just because of the TV spots and how everything in the early 90s still seemed pretty 80s. I know when looking at old photos from 90 or 92 its hard to determine them from photos from 88 or 89. Anyways, I still think these toys were a fantastically twisted idea, perfect for kids. I only wish they were sturdier.

I had the one in the red suit and maybe another, but I don't remember for sure. I used to like the commercials as a kid, and thought the toy was pretty cool too. Parts of it (like arms and legs) would detach! You could learn a lot from a dummy! ;)
