Description
She was a doll that came out after Teddy Ruxpin, the same idea. She had a cassette player built into her back and her lips would move when she sang. Her eyes moved side to side.

This doll changed my life forever! I recieved in for Christmas after my parents had trapsed around all the stores for it. Then, one day, I was playing with Cricket and her batteries decided to run out making her cry out this weird, electronic noise that scared the SH*T out of me, I was seven. I have hated dolls ever since, Thank you Cricket!!! ha ha

her eyes didnt open and close but they moved side to side. Her and hyer brother Corky both had sets of clothes and cassette tapes that you could buy. Most of the sets were different proffesions like fireman and astronot if I remember...

Playmates could remake Cricket and her little brother Corky, but insted of making them into tape players they could make them into cd players.

When I had Cricket I loved her so much that I would listen to her during the day and sleep with her during the night.

I had tons of toys in the 80s and I wanted Cricket badly one Christmas. I didn't get her. She's the only toy I remember ever really wanting and not getting, but my mom couldn't see spending $100 on a doll. Especially for a doll she thought looked hideous. Now that I see her picture as an adult, I agree with Mom. LOL

I remember Cricket! I got her back in 1986 when I was two. I LOVED her...but as I got older she scared the crap out of me! My brother and I thought she was Chucky's little sister so we would stuff her into the closet! HAHAHA and I do agree she was freaky when her batteries ran low!

I had Cricket and Corky and a bunch of the tapes and books and clothes. I used to hold up cookies to their mouths when they were talking so they could eat them.

I remember sitting on my aunts steps singing with my baby. I have 4 younger female cousins and a sister, however Cricket was my best friend.lol. No one was allowed to touch her or push her buttons. I think my parents gave her to Toys for Tots one year:(

I had a Cricket doll when I was little... She was one of my favourite dolls next to the Waterbabies. One night my parents friend thought he was being funny and was pretending to make out with her and then ounched her face in! :( I couldnt believe it! I had to throw her out after that. Well I finally signed up for ebay and i have bought her, Corky and the african American versions and I just love them! If you are looking for ANYTHING Cricket or Corky, look there, cause it will turn up eventually!

I was given a Cricket doll for Christmas in 1986 and I LOVED her...that is until Child's Play came out. My brother who was 10 yrs older than me thought it would be funny to make a tape recording of his own voice saying, "Chucky, Chucky, Chucky" and "I'll be your friend till the end...Heidee Ho", then place it in Crickets tape player when I was not around. I was absolutely horrified when I heard this coming from my Cricket doll. Needless to say I tried throwing her away and my parents found her and brought her back in the house. So she lived in my closet after that until my parents finally let me sell her in our family garage sale three years later. The were so upset with my brother for doing this to me! Spending $100 on a doll in 1986 was outrageous. To this day she still freaks my $hit out!!!

My twins got a Cricket doll when they were about 3 yrs. They loved that doll! Her eyes no longer move, but her cassette player still works and her mouth. Does anyone know where I can have her repaired? Her hair is a mess too.

I had a talking doll like this. It wasn't Cricket, but I loved her all the same. Especially because my grandpa and grandma bought her for me despite the steep price. I'll admit, I went through a phase where I thought she was Chucky's girlfriend, but believe it or not I now collect talking dolls. I have 7 talkers: My original doll (love her), A Cricket doll, Pamela, 2 Cabbage patch talking dolls, Teddy Ruxpin, and Chatty Patty.

What Can I say? Cricket was an awesome doll ! They came out when in 1986 when I was 3. Mine still talks, but her eyes and her mouth do not, probably due to age!! My friend still has hers and she couldn,t believe how old that thing is now, she was also amazed that my Cricket was African American(Very hard to find I was told). I do remember it being really heavy. Before her eyes and mouth stopped working, I put her in the Library Center in my preschool classroom, and all the kids just adored her. I remember the commercial like yesterday because Cricket said at the end "I'll be talking to YA"!!!

I remember the first time I saw the commercial, I really thought it was a doll that would talk and walk and play with me :) But I still carried her everywhere once I got her. Her and Teddy.
