I loved this doll. My mother named her Messy Bessy, because I had drawn on her and never buttoned her clothes. She had orange yarn hair in pig tails or braids. I could have taken the braids out. She also had purple vinyl shoes. Bessy sure was colorful.

Whebn my daughter was very little she had FIVE dressy Bessy's! My mother kept buying them because my daughter loved them so much. One in particular was her favorite. I watched her one night, while she was sound asleep, pick each one up until she found the right one!. My daughter is 29 yrs old now and still has all of her Bessy's. We call them Kerry's family!

Wow!!! I just heard of a band named Dressy Bessy (because of Grey's Anatomy) and then I suddenly remembered... I loved her! I used to have the one with the brown hair, the blue jacket and the kinky purple boots. I'm going to call my mother tomorrow if she kept it or not. I hope she can bring her with her when she's coming over this sunday. That would make my weekend! :-)

I loved my dressy bessy. I am now 40 and I remember it like it was yesterday. My Mom told me I had sell it in our garage sale because I was getting too old to be carring a doll around everywhere. This little girl bought her...I still remember her walking down our driveway, just dragging her by her arm. I wanted to kill her.

I had this doll when I was little and I was absolutely terrified of her. I kept her buried at the bottom of my toy box!
