I loved this one. You could put the toys inside and push the top of the tree down to snap it shut. Then there was a button at the very top you could push to pop it open.

OMG! I loved this toy! I remember when my mom brought it home for me. I was soooo excited. I played with it for hours. I have been looking for it on ebay. I found 1 that wasn't missing stuff and a couple that had most of the parts. I want this toy again. I think back and really wish I would have kept my old toys. Who know they would become vintage treasures. This was my FAVORITE!!!!

I got the treehouse for Christmas when I was 8 years old in 1977! It was my favourite toy ever!!! I think my mum still has it, I am going to ask her to find it because I would love my son to see it. It was such a gorgeous toy and I loved the elevator and little tree dog house. I think I would have a lot of fun showing the tree to my little boy. I hope my mum can find it!!

My sister had this which I thought was awsome, i wanted to live there. I had the old boot which had better characters but I thought the tree house was better therfore the old boot people often stormed the tree house and lived there for a while!

This was the best toy in the world! Last night my husband and I were talking about our favourite toys when we were younger and I told him about my Family Tree House so I decided to look it up today. Unfortunately my mom gave it away when I got older. Thanks for posting the pictures. It brought back wonderful memories. I had forgotten that it came with a car and the dog house shaped like a shrub. Awww...I wish I still had my Family Tree House.

I still have mine. My grandfather bought it for me, and now my son plays with it. The swing doesn't fit properly (my sister chewed it when she was about 18months) and the door fell off the lift, and a bit of the wallpaper came off, and the staircase broke. I played with that tree house for so long, I wore it out. No pieces missing, just get separated into various toyboxes. I even still have the little red and yellow car. I would like to thank my mother for having the foresight to not throw out the snapped off bits. She did throw away the box, however.

I loved this toy! I loved the elevator and pushing the top and closing everything up. I planned on saving this toy for my own children. I left it behind at my moms house where I thought it would be safe. Unfortunately, Someone threw it out. I'm still pining over it.

Does anyone have a family tree house for sale in good to very good condition, including the family and all accessories? I got this toy one Christmas in the late 70's and LOVED it and kept very good care of it...ohh except for that one time that the Dad went missing for about 10 years and we just said he had a work injury and was AWOL...he was in the lift shaft the whole time! The only childhood toy that i kept for my kids, (guarded over when they played with it just started to be allowed at age 4) and a bloody bushfire comes along and wipes out our treasures. My email is hillybillies@hotmail.com if you have one that you are willing to sell. I have looked on ebay...they are out there incomplete though

They still sell this toy in France. I think the little people are a bit different, but the treehouse is exactly the same. Currently on sale at www.toysrus.fr It is called l'Arbre Magique des Klorofil

This was my favorite toy, when I was in 1st grade my Dad left and in second grade we had to leave our home. My Mom packed all of our toys in plastic garbage bags to move and my Uncle took all of our toys to the dump on accident, this tree house I have always truly wanted back, it along with my love notes doll, amazing how much you can remember your favorite toys!
Marta - November 24, 2009 - Report this comment
it is now made in France a newer version of it, it is called the Magic Klorofil tree house. Made by Vulli toys. Just google and you will find it.
carolyn - November 27, 2009 - Report this comment
in Australia it was made by Toltoys. I still have parts of mine. I still have the furntiure and characters the house is destroyed since my nieces and nephews came along. I loved it it so much. I have been googling for years to find it but i kept using toltoys and not kenner. Now i see heaps on ebay. I saw the new French version just last week in a shop. $250 Au I couldn't believe that price tag. I am sure my mum (sorry I mean Santa) never paid that much. The new one makes a sound as the lid opens and closes. Like anything it is not as good as the original. It has less people and furniture that come with it. One of the room walls is the bathroom. the kitchen, lounge and bedroom were much better. I would like a new (old one) but there is nothing like the memories and touch of your own one. That red car was so fast.

I LOVED this toy! I made the mistake of giving it to my sister for her daughters to play with a few years ago (before I had kids of my own), it was all complete and had been very looked after when I gave it to her. She sent it back to me two weeks ago and I threw it in the bin!! Only two family members left, three pieces of furniture, Swing and car gone, the stickers were all peeled off and the tree base itself was smashed up. I was so sad and angry, because I now have a 4 yo & 2 yo (both girls) and I knew that they would've loved it too!! Am now searching for another one (if possible). Moral to the story is...DO NOT lend anything from your childhood that you loved to ANYONE!
