From what I remember, You rubbed crayons over paper on the Barbie plates. You could choose different headwear, bottoms and tops...etc.

i have this toy from the 80s till last year before Typhoon Ondoy (w/ flood) strike our home and we have to renovate our house and throw things away. I'm still hoping against hope that this toy was not thrown away. I have kept and cared for this toy (gift from my cousin in Chicago, Illionois). Until now I'm still bothered because I wasn't able to look for some things we have saved from the flood. Even my two daughers were saddened when they've learned that we might have lost my Fashion Plates. Mae from Pandacan, Manila Philippines

In going through my grandmother's closet a few months back, I found my fashion plates. I loved this toy while growing up.

I had fashion plates they were made by Tomy. I had the one pictured above and it was one of my all time favorite toys. I even had the extra set of blue plates for it.

I loved my fashion plates. I would color them for my Great Grandma and she would keep them. I found them when we were cleaning out her house after she passed away. I couldn't believe she had kept them all those years. I still have them now. Wish I still had the fashion plates too.

I probaly had this toy in 87, 88. I was like 9, 10 yrs old. I spent hours & hours with this toy. A great toy for a creative child. They should bring it back.

Oh wow, this brings back memories! I had this back in the early 80s, maybe around 82 or 83? I loved it. No idea where it is now, we might have sold it at a garage sale years ago :(
