My sister and I had these when we were kids. They were a lot of fun, especially for our dad. He used to build us houses out of them and robots and boats, and when she and I were fighting, they were awesome for whacking each other with. I wish I still had them for my son. What fun!

I was telling my son about the giant tinker toys my sister and I played with as kids. They were awesome! Giant plastic tubes with the wheels and cylinder shaped connectors. He wants a set. I haven't found any. The closest I have found is Toobeez, but they aren't exactly the same. I wish I could find them. Anyone know where to find them?

I was starting to think I was crazy and made up the giant sized tinker toys. My brothers and I spent hours playing with these and would love to find some for our daughter.

I was at the local Goodwill today and in a big box I found a complete set of giant Tinkertoys for $8! I was sold the second I saw them. I remember playing with these with my brother as a child all the time and now my youngest daughter is playing with them! What a classic toy

Every year we asked for Giant Tinker Toys for Christmas until one year we finally received them! We played with them long after other toys were tossed and even used them to make cones when we were learning to drive. I wish I could find them for my children. Any sellers please contact me at distraeb@yahoo.com

is there any place that stills sells them? I played for hours with my 2 brothers and sister and made tents, etc. Why did they stop making them? Anyone who starts to make these will make a ton of money, they were the best toys ever!!!!

I have the original Giant Tinkertoy set from many years ago, when my kids were young. Now I want to pass it on to my grandchildren, but I no longer have the original instruction booklet. Any ideas on where I can download or otherwise acquire a copy?

My cousin had these as a kid. I used to go over to his house and he and my stepbrother used to make hurdles or high jumps out of these toys and pretend to have our own Olympics. LOL.

My grandson and granddaughter have been enjoying the Giant Tinkertoy set that my mother gave to my daughter and son. When my daughter's two little ones get old enough, the other two will have probably outgrown them and they will be passed on to their cousins. Lots of fun and creativity have been enjoyed with them.

I would have sworn that the set I had in the 70's had a set of longer tubes with it in addition to the ones in the photo above. Was there more than one set?

I also had these as a kid and my daughter is playing with them right now. I kept them all these years in the attic and only one of the yellow ones has a crack. Pretty good since I live in TX and it gets mighty hot up there. Talk about a tough toy!

Instruction booklet? 1) Engage imagination. 2) Put the stick bits in the hole bits.

The Giant Tinker Toys were absolutely one of my favorite toys ever. We played with them for hours upon hours I remember making the windmill on the cover. It really worked...Amazing!

Can anyone give me the dimensions for the set? Diameter and length of each type of "pvc", and the dimensions of all the various connectors? I'm so desperate I'd like to try to make them. Thanks!
