Description
Glamour Gals were made by Kenner in 1980-1982. They were 4.25 inch fashion dolls, that all came in a specific themed outfit. There were over 70 individual dolls/outfits, and guys for them. There were playsets, including a house (Party Place) a beauty salon, a wedding playset (with exclusive groom doll),and a car (the Fancy Firebird). Also featured a cruise ship (Ocean Queen) which was huge, about 3 feet long and nearly 2 feet high at it's tallest point.

OMG!!! I had these when I was a kid, but could not think of the name! I don't think ever even knew the name. I just loved them because they were small with pretty hair. I used to pretend they were singers and my cassette cases where their stages. I know my daughter would love these now because she loves small toys. I'll have to be on the lookout for these.

I have 22 female and 2 male dolls which were kept in the showcase for 26 years. I also kept the Firebird. Happily everything stayed in great condition in my parents' attic. My 8 year old daughter is now having a ball with them. They are great for dollhouse furniture.

I just unearthed my entire collection of these (shared with my sister) and am trying to figure out how to get rid of them (I only have sons and nephews)! I'm guessing we have pretty much everything -- cruise ship, 2 showplaces, Firebird, Party Place, Beauty Salon, and TONS of dolls... I think we have a couple of the Dazzle Dolls too! What to do!

I thought I was insane! I've tried to describe these dolls a hundred times over the years and NO ONE knew what I was talking about. I adored my Glamour Gals and I really coveted the Cruise Ship. I'm so glad to discover that I'm not the only one who remembers these dolls.

I have talked about these dolls to my 11 year old daughter for years now. She is fascinated with anything I might have played with. I had the wedding set, car and hair salon. I loved them! Didn't save them though, so sad!

Oh, Glamour Gals! I have the worst story, that my sister still has not let me live down (25 years later!!). I had a huge collection of them, and the Firebird. My parents were throwing out an old dryer, so I decided to play with my Glamour Gals in the dryer. The next day, as I was getting on the bus, I realized that the dolls, and the Firebird were still in the dryer, which was at the curb for pick-up. I figured that the dryer would still be there when I got home, so I didn't worry too much. When I got home later that day, the dryer had been picked up by the trash men, and the dolls and car were gone! I was so sad, and my sister was so angry! To this day, she still brings it up. I'm on here looking for a Firebird and a few replacement dolls, so that I can buy them for her as a surprise.

I loved my Glamour Gals dolls when I was a kid. I the Firebird and I seem to remember a beach house, and also possibly a mall. My mom still has all of the dolls at home, which my kids like to play with, but unfortunately some seem to be missing legs.....that was one of their downsides..the legs came on/off easily and therefore could be lost.

I can't believe I'm reading all these comments. What memories! I loved playing with my Glamour Gals. For some reason I thought about them today and here I am. Anyhow, reading all the posts reminded me of the house or some sort of playset that went along with them. I had the Firebird and carry case too, never knew about the cruise ship or wedding playset. Now I have to search my parents house to see if any of them still exist. I would love to pass them down to my daughter. Thanks for all the memories ladies.

I had the ocean queen cruise ship for these dolls. I loved it, especially the elevator that was in it. I can't even find someone who has the ship now. I don't know what happened to mine but I want it back.

My Grandma had given me the ocean queen cruise ship and about 100 dolls to go with it. Downside was she'd only let me play with it @ her house:( That made me sad as a 6 yr old, so one day i slipped it in the trunk of moms car...teehee! I loved playing with them soo much i was willing to commit a crime in order to play with them on a daily basis. Long live the Glamour Gals! I really do wish I knew what happend to that cruise ship my daughter would love it!!!

Glamour Gals were one of my favorite toys. I had two show places, the whole first series of dolls, dolls from other series, fancy Firebird, beauty salon, three guy dolls, and the horse called Diamond Jubilee. I wanted to get the cruise ship but it was too expensive and my parents would not let me get it. Some of my Glamour gals things are gone now but I wish I had kept them. Happily, I still have the two show places, all my dolls, and the fancy Firebird. My daughter loves to play with them. I am hoping to find the cruise ship, party place, wedding set, and other Glamour Gals toys that I never had as a kid.

I like so many of you had almost everything glamour gal and I loved them because being in a military family we were not aloud alot of toys. So I chose Glamour Gals because they were small and I could have alot of them. But then the unthinkable happend, we moved from Maine to Florida and the movers lost the boxes with all my Glamor Gals in it along with my brouthers GI JOES (Because like me he thought the smaller the toys the more he could have). I have been looking for replacements for over 20 years if anyone is looking to sell some at a reasonable price contacet me a babytaz722@hotmail.com thank you.

I just recently retrieved my old Glamour Gal Ocean Queen Cruise ship from my parents garage loft. It is pretty dirty since it has been in there for 25 or more years. I know all of the accessories are up there somewhere too but I couldn't find them. I would really like to restore this treasure for my own daughter but am having a very difficult time finding the accessories even on ebay. Any suggestions?

I finally remembered to look them up online! They pop into my head when I'm thinking of childhood. They were about the same size as G.I. Joes so I could play with my brothers (even though none of the G.I. Joes wanted to marry my Glamour gals back).

My twin sister and I had the Ocean Queen cruise ship and many Glamour Gals which we loved and played with for years. Unfortunately in junior high (when we mistakenly thought we'd out-grown dolls for good) we sold our Glamour Gals (including that beautiful ship!) at a yard sale. I still remember the wide enchanted eyes of the little girl who took home the ship--I think she probably went on to love it as much we we did). For our 30th birthday later this year, I would love to surprise my twin with another cruise ship. Is anyone selling some dolls and/or the Cruise Ship (ideally in good condition with accessories?--I still remember the gold brick in the captain's safe and the shampoo bottles in the salon!) Thanks!! belles229@gmail.com

I remember getting the Glamour Gals Ocean cruise ship for Christmas one year. It was HUGE and I loved it, especially the elevator and the pool. I remember having a couple of dolls for it. The only 2 I remember are the cowgirl, and the girl in the gold bikini. I still have the ship but it is missing most of the rails to it. I would love to find some dolls and accessories for it so that my daughter can enjoy it too. If anyone is selling the dolls or accessories for it, please email me at srh1023@bellsouth.net.

Hey ladies! I just tried to sell my original Glamour Gals cruise ship at a garage sale, but there were no takers. I'm going to post it on ebay for sale today - if any of you are interested in buying it, it is the only one up as far as I can tell. A few little pieces are missing, but the gold bricks are still in the captain's safe!

I first noticed these while I was building some remote control boats. I bought all of the male dolls and reworked them into members of the US Coast Guard. They served their boats well. There was even one doll Captain Kurt who was thier leader although I repainted his uniform. I also had a cabin cruiser that some of the girl dolls served on as crew. As a 20 something male, I always had my girlfriend with me when I bought them. During a move the tackle box they were in was misplaced or stolen. I'd sure love to get a few more of them.

I have the OCEAN QUEEN CRUISE SHIP. It is in very good, clean condition. I have many, though not all, of the original accessories (ie: ship's railing, swimming pool, bed, dressers, beauty parlor chairs, deck chairs, life boats). I don't have the dolls which came with the ship though the dolls are often available on Ebay. My ship was the prototype (test toy) created by Kenner Toys before they began selling the ships on the market later that year. It is an amazing toy!!!
