Description
Glamour Gals were made by Kenner in 1980-1982. They were 4.25 inch fashion dolls, that all came in a specific themed outfit. There were over 70 individual dolls/outfits, and guys for them. There were playsets, including a house (Party Place) a beauty salon, a wedding playset (with exclusive groom doll),and a car (the Fancy Firebird). Also featured a cruise ship (Ocean Queen) which was huge, about 3 feet long and nearly 2 feet high at it's tallest point.

OMG!!! I had these when I was a kid, but could not think of the name! I don't think ever even knew the name. I just loved them because they were small with pretty hair. I used to pretend they were singers and my cassette cases where their stages. I know my daughter would love these now because she loves small toys. I'll have to be on the lookout for these.

I have 22 female and 2 male dolls which were kept in the showcase for 26 years. I also kept the Firebird. Happily everything stayed in great condition in my parents' attic. My 8 year old daughter is now having a ball with them. They are great for dollhouse furniture.

Was there a ocean liner/cruise ship that was available for these? For some reason I remember playing with one along with the dolls.

I just unearthed my entire collection of these (shared with my sister) and am trying to figure out how to get rid of them (I only have sons and nephews)! I'm guessing we have pretty much everything -- cruise ship, 2 showplaces, Firebird, Party Place, Beauty Salon, and TONS of dolls... I think we have a couple of the Dazzle Dolls too! What to do!

I had #9 but for some reason cut all her hair off..now she has a super short bob :( but I made a little black evening gown for her out of a barbie legwarmer, so she's ok!

I thought I was insane! I've tried to describe these dolls a hundred times over the years and NO ONE knew what I was talking about. I adored my Glamour Gals and I really coveted the Cruise Ship. I'm so glad to discover that I'm not the only one who remembers these dolls.

I have talked about these dolls to my 11 year old daughter for years now. She is fascinated with anything I might have played with. I had the wedding set, car and hair salon. I loved them! Didn't save them though, so sad!
