I had a Baby Gonga when I was really little. He was grey and he sucked his thumb. He didn't have a banana but he came with a wooden sign around his neck that read "Beware: Gonga Loves You". I loved it so much that a few years ago, when I spied Gonga and Baby Gonga (like the one pictured) at a garage sale, I jumped for joy and quickly snatched it up.

My brother had a Gonga. Kept it for years, then, this time last year, as a gesture of kindness, he gave it to a charity for the poor as a Christmas present.

I had Gonga! I called him "Gonga Din" and didn't get the reference. I'd just heard the name mentioned before on an episode of "Soap".

I had a medium cream coloured Gonga and a dark ginger Baby Gonga when I was a child. I remember politely begging my grandad for the baby one on a sea-side outing and was so excited and gratefull when he got me it. I used to play with them with my chic a boos and play schools. My grandad made a wooden table and chair set for them all. I still have the table and chairs in the loft. I don't know what hapened to my monkeys though! :O( I have been buying them on the net and in car boot sales and now I have 6 if I include the one that I gave to my son. I also have 12 other 80's thumb sucking toys. I have plans for some very exciting new additions very soon! I have submited some photos above if they are aproved.

I once had a brown Baby Gonga that I loved dearly in my early years. I was so proud of him that during pre-school I took him to school for show and tell. Sadly, someone stole that little monkey and I have been searching for another ever since. Where can I find one?

I too loooooooved my gona. My sister and i use to play the silliest games with our Gonga's. She had a girl, Gongette, I think she was red or pink. Sadly a dog chewed the hands off of each of our Gongas and it was never the same. Such a beloved toy. We even took them to california once. Ahhhh memories :) Live on Gonga!

I sucked my thumb from the time I was a baby until I was 8 years old. One thing never changed within those years. If you ever saw me sucking my thumb, Gonga was in the other hand and I would twiddle the tag on his back. I'm 29 now and I still have my gonga.

My sister and I both got a gonga one Christmas. I might have been about 8 at the time. My sister's had a Santa hat, and mine had the "Beware: Gonga Loves You" sign. I had it for years, and when my parents moved, a few of our boxes never made it to the new place. Gonga was in one of those boxes. I'm still so peeved about that. I loved it dearly. :(

i am 31 years old now. but when i was only a baby of 4 months, i slept in my crib, snuggling with my thumb-sucking Gonga. one day, i woke-up, and found that my Gonga was Missing. i just didnt know what happend to it. Ever since then, i felt like i was missing somthing in my life. but i compleatly forgot about my Gonga that i lost as the many years passed since then. and my grandma who passed away awile back left us with a full shed of her stuff to get rid of. wile i was helping my Uncle dig though the Stuff in his shed. i came to a box of old stuff Animals. wile i was looking in the box of toys, i was in shock. there he was. it was my Gonga. and it was in great shape too. i was so happy. it seems that my grandma was saving it for me after all these years. making sure nothing happend to it, till i grew up anoughf to take care of it. i keep it with me always now. it sits on a trunk near my bed, and i feel like it still protects me as i sleep. just like it did when i was a baby. :)

This is weird...I thought I was the only person in the world that had an obsession with the monkey. I'm so glad there are others out there that feel the same way! My Gonga was given to me when I was just 7 years old as a gift back in the early eighties and he wore a graduation cap. Now at the age of 37 I still don't know what kind of hold this stuffed gorilla has on people but I just can't seem to out grow or even get rid of him! He's like my only child!

If ur looking for Gongas then the best places to get them are: . Carboot Sales . Charity Shops (Secondhand) . Online Auctions i.e. eBay (if willing to pay quite a lot of money!) But i really really wish they still made them in the shops, that would be awesome!!!

Some times on eBay theres 99p Gongas but most of the time they are grubby and are bad condition sadly. If you have a Gonga still class yourseelf lucky because the are rare collectables!

I got a brown Gonga when I was 3 for Easter. I have lost the sign that came around his neck years ago, but I played with all the time. He was my best friend as a kid. I am 41 now and he is sitting here next me on my computer desk. My 7 year old daughter has a white baby gonga.
