Description
This particular toy manufactured by Hansa Learning Toys was amazing for its day. It was orange plastic with shelves. You walked in between the shelves to serve. It had a clock and came with miniature groceries that were identical to supermarket lines i.e milo, arnotts biscuits, cornlakes etc. I still have the BubbyL electronic cash register and a packet of weet bix and a tin of milo. Loved it and never seen anything on the market today as good. Hansa now make plush toys. thank you

My Dad use to manufacture the Orange plastic shevles especially for Hansa Supermarket toy, my sister and myself used to play for hours being shopkeepers, It is a shame kids today don't have to use their imagination. Just plonk them with the pastes IPad!

Interesting story Matty. I am now 45 but I remember this supermarket fondly. I wrote the first article on this thread about the orange plastic shelves, and I remember their were pull out draws with labels on them like rice, lentils etc. I remember my mum paid 99$ back in 1982 for it. My parents also put up a garden shed for us and we turned it into a restaurant and grocery store .... Yes we kids from that era knew how to use our imaginations. I am quite annoyed that I don't have any pictures of it other than a tin of milo, a packet of weetbix and the electronic cash register that came with it.

Had it. Loved it. Spent hours both with other kids and by myself playing shop. Loved the little shopping basket took and you could take the kids off the tins. Best toy ever
