Description
Add water to little pill like things, the pill dissolves and out comes a sponge shaped like something. Some of the early ones I remember didn't even look like sponges, they were really slimy.

What happens when one of these is swallowed? It has to have been done...

I remember thinking when I was 5 and got one of these that it was going to grow huge. I was greatly disappointed. Haha...when you're little you have quite an imagination.

They still make these. I bought about fifty of them at Michael's Crafts the other day and passed them out to the neighborhood kids. They'd never heard of them. We had a terrific time with those thingies. I swallowed one once when I was little. No bad side effects. It just goes the way the rest of the food soes.

ewww.. were these the things you would get in the gumball machine for 25 cents? If it is, I was so disturbed by these things. I thought they were scary. Slimy..

I remember I would buy the little dinosaur ones when on field trips to the museum. These were awesome.

I had one that was a robot. It got to be about 8 inches long. I tried to take it out of the water and it fell apart.

They were one of those one-hit-wonder toys...you could only play with it that one time (i.e. dissolve it & watch it grow) & then you didn't really know what to do with it after that. I think I tried to re-use some of mine for sponge painting lol.

I used to pretend they were dinosaur eggs hatching in the water ... could pass long hours narrating my own 'Nat'l Geographic' film inside my head while letting a whole pack of these things dissolve. Then I would pretend my Tonka truck was a carnivore that would "eat" the newly hatched babies. I was a weird kid.

I keep saying everything's my favorite. But this truly had my heart. So novel to a child!

These were so cool. It was fun to watch 'em grow. They didn't seem to hold up too well afterwards though. I think my first was an orange mermaid!

I used to beg my mom for these everytime we went to the zoo, so she would get them for me, I'd dissolve them, and then throw them away, lol

My mom used to get these for my brother and I for bath time and if we were good she would give us a few. I remember I loved them and couldnt wait to see which one I would get... the suspence of waiting for the pill to desolve and then we would stick them on the wall. I had a huge collection of them at one point. They still make them but they just dont seem as magical anymore.
