Description
Small kittens, you could buy them in a small litter, or by themselves, and they sounded like they were purring when you tilted their head.

I still have a calico one with a purple ribbon just like the picture. I enjoyed playing with it, the purring sound is simple but pretty accurate. The kitty currently belongs to my own real cat- the calico looks a lot like his mom, so we gave it to him to play with. Occasionally he'll run around and attack it :)

I used to have two of the JUNGLE-type kittens designed to look like wildcat cubs - I had a tiger one and a cougar one. I have yet to find the tiger one (I'm sure it's in a box somewhere). The cougar one is ooooold and the water balloon that was in it has since popped from being stored for so long...he's scruffy and worn from age and love, but I still am very attached to him. :D

I had one of these too ... the butterscotch colored one. My sister had the calico. I think they were recalled several years back (or possibly the second generation of them). Mine got left in the car on Christmas and the water in it's belly was non-existent after that. I wish there was something like this out now I have a niece who would love one!

I used to have a grey one I got for christmas one year. I loved that thing and have no clue where it ever went! I have been looking for one though, but have had no luck, not even on ebay! :-(

I got a Kitty Kitty Kitten when I was about ten or eleven years old. She is white, brown and gray. Her name is Lacey, and I still have her to this day, although she is very bedraggled with a slightly deflated look. I lost the collar that came withg her, though she still has the bow around her neck.
carly - February 06, 2008 - Report this comment
I got one of these when I was so little that I can't even remember. I named her Dinah when I was about three. She's brown, grey, and white, but so old that there's practically no stuffing left. I'm only fourteen, but I still have mine. She's always been a comfort to me - especially when my parents got divorced.

The cat you are referring to LeeAnn is Furrever Friends (the one with the velcro tails.)

I have a lot of Kitty Kiity Kittens that look exactly like the picture above. But I do have one that is purring when you rattle it's head like normal. The thing is... I got it a long time ago and I remember that she came with a pink color and a pink bracelet for me, that my others didn't have. Also, she has rocks in her paws instead of cotton. I have a black one from my cousin when it came around this time and it didn't have the pink color. They are the same size, but I do not think that it is the same. I have a picture of the mystery cat (which was also my favorite stuffed animal) but it looks like I cannot post pictures on here.
P1kARaT - June 08, 2008 - Report this comment
Actually it was a Kitty Kitty Kitten. It looks exactly like the jungle cat, but not fluffy... Had a lot of love! :)

My mom bought one of these 8 years ago for my new kitten Leo. He was lost from his mother very early on and she was afraid he missed his siblings. He is not a 20 lb black cat who still sleeps with the Kitty Kitty Jungle kitten and paws it to make it purr. We will also carry it around in his mouth to his food and water bowl. As far as he is concerned the kitty kitty is part of the family too!
Em - July 22, 2008 - Report this comment
I got one of these when I was about eight, and years later when I got a dog, she found it and fell in love with it. She played with it so much that we got her a new one every year, because they kept falling apart... until one year they stopped selling them! It's so sad, she's just left with the shell of a grey one, and I can't find them anywhere. eBay, why hath thou forsaken me?

I had a bunch of the mid-90's furry ones like in the first picture, and I kept them in a basket -- lord, the racket they made drove my parents crazy! I kept them for a good while though, which actually came in handy. When I was in Jr. High I played Alice for my school's production of Alice in Wonderland and I used my gray one as a Dinah prop :)
A-chana - September 21, 2008 - Report this comment
My GOSH, I remember that. I got one when I was about four years old. I think I had the same one as Carly and Becky -- it was a brown-gray, with black and white ears, a white mouth and belly, and black paws and I think tail. Kind of like the one in the second-to-last picture, but grayer. I called her Dina (pronounce die-nah), too, and used her once in a fifth grade "Fractured Fairytales" play (I was like Belle but with animals). I lost her shortly afterwards, though -- I think she's in a box in the garage now. I was looking through photos with my mom last night, and there were a lot of photos with me holding Dina. There's even one of me actually getting her for Christmas. It's in front of me right now. I'm sixteen now. I wanna find her.

I've had my Kitty Kitty Kitten since I was about 8. He doesn't have a bow anymore, nor does he have much of his stuffing..or original color, hahaha. I think I named him Spark but the name never stuck, so he's always been Kitty Kitty, the Kitty Kitty Kitten. He still sleeps at the head of my bed, next to my pillow. He's there every night, even when I'm away at school. I used to sleep with him so he wouldn't get cold, but he would fall out of the bed every night. When I go away on trips he comes too, and I usually end up carrying him by the leg, which drives my mom insane..probably because I'm 20. XDD I found this page while I was looking for recall information. I recently heard some of these guys got recalled for toxic water in the "purr ball" and I've had chronic headaches for years now. Every holiday when I'm home from school my mom always asks whether or not I threw out Kitty Kitty seeing as he may be the source of my problems. ..Still can't give him up, though!! Completely pathetic or true love, I duno, but he's got such a sad face I can't throw him out.

I had one of these when I was like 7, the butterscotch one. I kept it until I was 12 when it got damaged in the fire that messed up my house and pretty much everything I owned. When I was like 14, I found one that was EXACTLY like it again and was so happy! Then I got in a relationship with this boy and was so in love with him, I gave him my prized kitty as a "promise ring" sort of gift. When we broke up 3 years later, he refused to give it back along with a few things that I let him borrow (even though he made me give back all the gifts he ever gave me /: Messed up much?). I hate it so much because I know I'll probably never get another one like it again. It was my absolute favorite toy...It still makes me cry knowing I'll never have it again all because of that jerk...

REWARD! REWARD! REWARD! REWARD! REWARD! I had the tiger kitty kitty kitten from the time I was 4 years old until my parents split up when I was 15. I'm 19 now and I have spent the last 4 years trying to find a replacement for my precious Melody(her name). I was very disappointed to discover that they were recalled. If anyone has the jungle kitten tiger that they are willing to part with please contact me at harleymeade@yahoo.com I'm willing to pay anything to get a replica of my beloved childhood pet. Please help me if you can!!!

My Kitty Kitty Kitten “Checkers” was the first thing I purchased with my own money (birthday money or something like that) when I was a kid and she was my favorite stuffed animal! I was kind of a weird kid, so I used to tie a ribbon to her collar and “walk” her around the neighborhood (in all actually I was dragging her around the neighborhood). Checkers still exists somewhere in my parents’ house.

I have: The tiger and snow leopard, the black and white one with the mostly white head, the black one with the white tipped tail, white blaze and white feet the uh...balloon belly is busted so that one is all flat. I also have a smooshed yellow tabby with a busted balloon belly and a deformed foot. lol.

I've had mine for as long as I can remember. I think I got it when I was around 4? I'm 18 now. It's a calico named Purry. I remember her belly broke so my mom had to do "surgery" and filled her with stuffing instead. I never used to go anywhere without her! I think she's somewhere in my basement now. Her little locket fell off and her bow is mangled. Not to mention her fur is all matted and her face is kind of flat and her eyes are covered in scratches.

This was my favorite favorite toy for the longest time. I had the orange and white one and I used to bring it to 2nd grade everyday and spend all of indoor recess time throwing her at the basketball nets (why??) with my best friend who had the gray and white one. When they got stuck we would call the aides over to retrieve them over and over and over.

Oh. My. God. I just searched kitty kitty jungle kittens because I'm looking for the best way to wash mine (she's not going in the washing machine!) I've had her since I was 5 and she's a college kitty now... I'm almost 23 and I knew she's had a lot of love these past 17 years, but I was SHOCKED to see a picture online of what she would have looked like when she was new. She doesn't have her pink bow anymore, but I bet it's probably with my American Girl doll stuff put away at my parents house. Anyway, her name is Neisa, and I have NO idea how I came up with that name when I was 5. Anyway, I was just so excited to see all these comments I had to say something! Neisa and I are going to go look for ways to get her a bath now! :) Oh one more thing: Her body is basically empty now, but her paws have beads or somethign in them... what was in her body??? And I realize I'm 22 referring to a toy as "she" and "her" but "she" has been in my life for too long to say "it".

Ummm, hey guys? Try to avoid doing too much with those Kitty Kitty Kittens. They have highly contaminated water in them and I hate to say it but if they are in too much action, the water bag may burst, causing the contaminated water to flow out. I hope I don't make you sad. Oh, and p.s.: ABSOLUTELY DO NOT PUT YOUR KITTY KITTY KITTENS IN THE WASHING MACHINE! CONTAMINATED WATER MAY FLOW OUT AND DRENCH EVERYTHING!!!!!!

It is full of 20 some year old water that stinks like death because of its putrid age. The water explodes out of the rubbery balloon inside and can make things STINK and can possibly make you ill. Don't squeeze the Kitty Kitty Kitten or it could pop. The stink won't leave for a very long time...and has contamination that could make you very sick. Don't sleep with the toy or you might roll on it...that would suck.

I don't remember if she came with the bracelet or not, I was only 3 or 4 at the time I got her. She is very loved that is for sure!! I collected them, starting with the calico with the purple and silver ribbon someone mentioned above, and the tabby with the pink and silver bow. They were (and still are), respectively, Anna and Candycane. I still have them both, along with the 20 or so others. I think it's the original ones from the 80's that pop--Anna did when I was a girl, and the smell was horrible. However, the later ones in the 90's seem to be full of stuffing. But I still collect these, and every time I see one, I grab it up, duplicate or not. I am actually THRILLED that I finally found the Jungle Cat that has been eluding me my entire life! I now have the snow leopard, the tiger, the lioness, and the cheetah. Talk about fulfilling childhood dreams, ha ha ha!

I have a Kitty Kitty Kittens. . . Its a snow leopard and Ive had it since I was three! I still remember opening her, and what spot on the floor I was on. Being so young, I couldn't tell what it was but judging by its rounded ears and whiskers, I called it "Kitty bear" thinking it was half cat half bear. I looked at her tag a couple of months ago and it turns out they have whats called an "air bladder". I never remembered Kitty bear with an air bladder and I wondered for the longest time if someone (my brother) *cough* un-stuffed it as a joke. When I read about the air bladder I realized it must of popped a looong time ago. Maby a little more then a week ago I thought it would be a great idea to take some down that I was saving from an old coat and stuff it in Kitty bear to give it a little body. Well, now its moulting and the little feathers are all over the house!!! LOL!!!!!!!!! I was wondering if there was any place that still sells them cause I really want a new one! can you get the same one in three different sizes or are certain ones only one size? Please let me know!

I am only fourteen. I was about four when I went to a yard sale and found two stuffed animals and fell in love with them. They were two cats. One was a kitty kitty which I named bumblebee because of the noise it made. The other was a random stuffed kitty but rougly the same size and so they were sisters. I still sleep with them all the time. The kitty kitty is in pretty bad shape. There is no ribbon, the hair is frizzy and no longer silky. It is a tan color with black ears and paws. I would love to find a picture of what it should look like

I got one of these for Christmas when I was six or seven. I remember really wanting the pure white one because it didn't look like any of our three real cats, and I didn't want them to feel left out! I think she's still at my parents' house somewhere.

Relax guys, from what I gather, the Kitty Kitty Kittens they were recalled were the ones made by DSI, not the ones made by Tyco. So if you have a Tyco one, you're safe. If you have DSI one, make sure it's not number "16400", as mentionned in the recall notice (http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml01/01191.html) Boy did I ever love my little Kitty Kitty Kitten. Can't remember the name I gave her, but she was the white persian one from the earlier batches. I remember thinking the purring sounds was so neat. I'm still going through boxes looking for it. Wish me luck!

Hi Audrea. Besides Tyco Kitty Kitty Kittens a company called DSI made some too. I have never seen a solid butterscotch one, they usually always have white in them. I have some of each brand. There is a butterscotch and white one with a pink ribbon on ebay right now that is pretty cheap. I'd hurry if this is close because it will go quick. See ebay #150642351487 Hope this helps.

My daughter got the snow leopard jungle kitty kitty kitten at 2 years old. She named him spotty and she still sleeps with him every night at 20 years old. He went on all vacations with us and still goes on all trips that she makes today. Her boyfriend hid him the other day and she really set into panic. Spotty is so worn out and frazzled looking, but she loves him immensely. She has a huge collection of kitty kitty kittens that look really still look good, but spotty was her first and the most special!

So where can one find a kitty kitty kitten. It's for me and I'm an adult. I won't be drinking any water from them.

I have the grey, brown and white kitty with the pink bow. I can't remember when I got it but I think it was probably around '96? I've seen a picture of it online of what it looked like when it was new. It's really weird because mine is really scruffy now. Anyway, mine is called Daisy, but I don't know whether this was the original name or just what I called it? If anyone knows the original name of this kitty, I'd love to know!

I got one when I was two, when they first came out. So the tags are long gone but i want to know the orignal name of my kitty. Its face is 40% tan and 60 white (only one eye is tan). One ear tan, and the other is white too.

@Joan: If you still check here, try Ebay or Amazon.

I have the tiger jungle kitten. I got her for christmas when I was two, and still sleep with her, because it's comfy. Her name is Emily. Until I looked them up today, I never knew they came with collars or ribbons. I know my older sister's pure white one had a pink ribbon, but I thought it was just that one.

I used to have a few of the Kitty Kitty Kitten toys when I was little (the tuxedo cat one was the first one I owned). Not sure what happened to them but just a week ago the fluffy white (pink bow) Kitty was left behind by some kid who was eating at the restaurant I work at. I feel like an idiot for how excited I got when I saw it but I brought it home anyway, yesterday. I had no idea about the water in them, that's kind of making me nervous... I don't plan on sleeping or playing with the thing though, it's just sitting on my shelf so I guess it's fine lol. It's stomach seems pretty deflated however and it has a funky smell- smells like its been put away for a while though.

Hi! I got my first Tyco Kitty Kitty Kitten for my first Christmas (1993), I'm 23 at this time. I still have her! She is in bad shape, no rips that my mom couldn't fix when I was a kid--but she is almost completely bald. She was mostly bald by the time I went into elementary school. I was rough on her as a toddler I guess... I have never seen another like her. She is yellow with white from her face to her stomach. Her legs are yellow with brown feel, and white paw pads. The tip of her tail is also brown, and she has brown eyes. I have seen similar styled ones from 1992, but never one exactly like her? I have two other ones, I think from the 2000 DSI release? Snowball and Punkin, both pink ribbons (but Snowball is missing their ribbon now). I think I got them around 2000-2004? Punkin still has her butt-tag byt the logo is washed off completely, hahah. Those two are in pretty good shape, and I am pretty sure their rubber bladders popped years ago. I never got sick, my clothing I washed them with was never ruined. I don't know why so many people are FREAKING OUT about the rubber bladder thing. it's a pretty easy fix. Either remove it and replace with stuffing or purposefully pop it in a safe environment and thoroughly wash a few times? It's just bad water, it can be taken care of. I am eventually going to remove the bladders and replace with stuffing when I feel confident enough with my sewing abilities. ANYWAY. Yeah 2016 and I'm finally posting here. I'm weird and get attached to stuffed animals, so here I am.

I decided to search up to find what kind of doll my beloved kitten, Midnight, was, because I cut off his tag ages ago. He's a tuxedo pattern, worse for wear, with cataracts on his eyes from the washing machine. He's my sleep buddy and sometimes accompanies me to classes.

I was 6 years old when Kitty Kitty Kittens first came out in 1992. I remember when I saw them on the shelves in the pink boxes I FREAKED out. They were the cutest things I'd ever seen (and still are the cutest stuffed animals in the world). :) I remember I got Midnight (the all black one), and my brother got the Calico. Midnight had the saddest little face ever and a bright blue bow. He was my favourite. Then we later got a white persian each, one of which I still have today. I fixed him up to look like new. I got this one with black on it's cheeks and white on it's head with green eyes. I still have her in much loved condition although her whiskers are melted. When the Jungle Kitty kittens hit the shelves I got the snow leopard and my brother got the Tiger and giant Lion. I remember my mom got us the white and brown giant kitties. I was so happy. My last kitty kitten I got was one of the babies (I still have her). I named her Klona :P My all time favourite was the snow leopard :) I lost the original one I had :( I had to get another online but I still really miss my original one I had.

I got my Kitty Kitty Baby Kitten when I was in elementary school, I can't remember what year. She was the tan-white-black calico, and I had named her Emily. I still have her--she sits on my knee as I type this--and I realize now that she's in surprisingly good condition. No tears, minimal matting, her fur is still fluffy and soft. I loved her to bits when I was a kid and used to pretend she was my cat's kitten since they both had the same markings. Her water balloon has long since deflated, but she's one of my shining gems out of my remaining childhood toys. I'm so happy there are others like me who still have their Kittens!!

There's no need to be concerned about the recall, honestly. I saw it and there wasn't anyone who actually got sick they put a precaution after they found out to be safe. Not all of the kitty kitty kittens had water. Some of them had air and I think just stuffing. If you think yours had a water balloon you can just cut open the stomach and pull the balloon out and wash the kitty kitty kitten. I put mine in the washer and low heat in the dryer and she still purrs and feels the same. You can just put stuffing in the belly then stitch it. Stitching the belly shut is quite simple you can even look on YouTube for a sewing tutorial. The fur is kinda thick so most stitching isn't very visible so that helps too if you're not very good at it.

I've had one of these for ages. The orange and white called Punkin I believe (I was about 4 when I first got her so I can't quite remember now at 23 lol) but she has absolutely been a mainstay for all this time. I can remember from years ago that one day she had gotten very very wet, I always assumed from me spilling something but after a bunch of reading today I learned that these were filled with water. Always thought I had just called the toy kitty kitty cause it was a cat, but now I can see the origin of the name from younger me lol. Still very much an item I hold dear

Yes! Kitty Kitty Kittens! Not an 80s toy, 90s rather, but amazing! I have been wanting to figure out how to make my own diy stuffy that purrs this way, I thought that was the coolest most amazing thing. Toymakers were so creative...Analog sound effects!
