Description
They came in a variety of colors, and had little stringish-things sticking out of them...fun to toss around (couldn't break anything in the house!) and floated in water, too.

OMG! Everyone had koosh balls! I always wanted the soft, white snowball koosh. These were so much fun in the pool!

They made the best dog toys ever!!! They float, and they're easily washed off. Only problem is they seem to collect hair like mad! I think I still have a few...

I use to have a tiny pink pair of koosh ball earrings, but the get your hair stuck in them and pull it out like crazy. I have tiny ones that I got from the pet store as cat toys, and I always find them collecting hair under the cabinets.

Koosh balls were the coolest back in the day! I recently found a red mini plastic koosh ball in my mom's attic. You guys are right, though. I've spent a few minutes picking hair out of them! LOL!

If they get hot enough they gum up and get gross. I used to have them at work, and we used to get toss them up and get them stuck in the false ceiling.

I had a tri colored one Blue-Pink-Purple when I lived in AZ and I lost it when I moved and then while looking through a thrift store in CA I found the EXACT same one. It meant so much to me cause my dad had bought it for me when I was like 7 and this happened when I was like 22.

These things were great. You can pelt somebody straight in the face, and all it would do is sting a little. We used to have koosh wars all the time. I still remember the smell... It smelled like... koosh balls.

I owned a few of them, but I can't recall what ever happened to them. Haha I cut threw my local high school parking lot a month back or so to take a shortcut and there was one of them just lying in the lot it was all blue, I almost wanted to stop and pick it up. But they would melt when it got really hot, in fact I think thats what happened to all mine.

When these things first came out, I immediately got the original red-yellow-blue one, which I still have. Some fads never go out of style, and Koosh balls are one of them! Lets face it, they just feel good in your hand.

I still have my purple/blue one! They had just come out and not many people had seen them yet. I had gone to the dentist and was good...therefore got to pick out a toy afterward and I grabbed a Koosh. We later went to eat at McDonalds and I remember people asking me as a lil kid, "What's THAT thing?"
brightbite - February 01, 2011 - Report this comment
Is this some random hallucination or did they come up with curly Kooshes, too???
Johnny B. - May 26, 2011 - Report this comment
The fact that I've spent my entire life not knowing that Koosh Balls could float genuinely blows my mind. And yes, they smelled really weird.

@brightbite -- This response is very late, but I definitely had a curly Koosh ball in the early to mid-1990s, and I'm shocked that I can't find any curly-Koosh pictures online.
